  • Short term buffs will modify this health value no more than 20%.

Raise that to 30%

  • Long term buffs will modify this health value no more than 10%.

Raise that to 20%

I agree I am also a master Doc and the way I see the changes coming I will be leaving the game within a few months. I will for now maintain a wait and see attitude. But as a Doctor/Pistoleer I have enjoyed crafting meds, and now everything I have bought and everything I have made will be trash in the coming weeks or months............... What a waist.........

I am sure that they think by doing these changes they will draw a larger crowd of people paying money to come back to the game or gain more interest from the crowd that hasnt bought the game yet......

You should be thinking about all the people on here now that will abandon the game, as I see I will, and I have just started down the path to Padawan.......

After reading through the entire combat upgrade page I can see that I will be soon selling my toon on EBAY.

Looks like I should go ahead and break out my old standby Star Wars Rebellion.

Seems to me they are counting on Docs wanting to go in the field to heal. From my perspective I think it may have a devastating effect on combat. As a Doc, I don't want to be bothered to go in the field and heal just to be part of the group. That's not why I wanted to be a Doc. I became a Doc to provide a service, not be a groveling lap dog following a group around waiting to be thrown a bone.

I fear the current crop of Docs will abandon the profession in droves if things don't work out to our advantage. Many who were considering Doc will not want to take up a loser profession, so Doc's will become very few, and those that are left will most likelybe forced to hang in the city med centers due to lack of combat skills. Let's face it, there are many Doc's who's templates have very little combat. And of those, manymay notwant to follow combat groups around to heal them. Combat groups will have a problem dealing with wounds and will not like the idea of having to rush to a city to get healed because the Docs won't follow (not to mention it won't be profitable at all to Doc's ). That being the case, these groups may be forced into staying close to cities or may decide to not fight at all.

This CU will effect every crafting profession on down the line directly and indirectly. If you sit and think about it, it may well drive the game economy into the ground. Hundreds of us will be stuck with products and resources that will have no market, or a limited one. One by one, they are nerfing the professions in an awkward attempt to balance the game economy. They already nerfed Architect by deducting maintenence directly from a player's account instead of letting the buildings decay. Now it's time to stick it to Doc's, Chef's, Tailors, DE's, and more. You don't have to be a genius to find critical links in all these professions that will be effected by nerfing Doc's. Itmaywellhave a huge domino effect.

Pardon me for spouting off, it's just that this bugs me so much. I hope that I'm totally of base, but I guess we'll all have to wait and see what happens. But it is rather uncomfortable not knowing much of anything so close to the release of the CU. I just wish the Dev's would have the common courtesy to come explain to us how the system will work and calm us all down before the place becomes a ghost town.

agree,
Also the Chefs are getting the Nerf too. As a chef/ Bio-engineer I don't have the points left for a combat prof so Guess I will now have to hire a bodyguard or two so that I can survey for resources, and then later collect them from my harvestors, at least now I can stay alive in my composite armor and run away. In the future I see myself spending alot of time cloning.
But I will at least see what happens in the next couple months before deciding on whether to quit or not.

I disagree.. people do not have to group to contribute to the community.I don't understand how hundreds of people sharing a singleworld is considered a single player game?

1. I really, really, really really don't like the changes 2 doc by the CU 2 out of our 3 main functions have been completly and totally destroyed. We used 2 be able to give good buffs. Kiss them goodbye, cause they rn't commin back. We also used to be able to craft. Well they probably just made all of your hours (that you could have spent with your wife and kids) (unless of course, they are the reason you play this game) useless. the only thing we have left, is being an ambulance to patch up the tk's swordsman, and other combat proffs.

... ooo i forgot. They can now heal themselves!!! well thats just great isn't it?

2. As pessimistic as i sound, BE's may be able to use those uber resources you bought. Thereby allowing you to cut your losses. as far as the millions you have wrapped up in buff packs... so far i haven't heard any gauruntee from the devs that they will be converted to the new system. But we still have a few months b4 it goes live, and there might a huge demand for your buffs, just before the CU comes into effect (yea rite, but a guy can dream, can't he?).

We can still buff and still buff more things than we could before. You can still craft stuff you got in Medic. Depending on how the BE requirements are you may still be able to pick up BE without spending any extra points.

Once out of 60 seconds, ya that will keep them alive...

Supposedly BE will only require xxx4 as Doc only requires 4040 to get you can craft at no extra SP cost.

Careful there Dark. If this 60 second timer remains then there will actually be no point in crafting stims at all. That will make the crafters even happier. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I know for certain my melee char was much happier to spend the skill points to get 0,0,4,0 medic to use MU40 StimE's than to not have it and use the new StimB's or D's that heal only once per 60 seconds. Also, the TC master medic heal isint all that great. Yes, I do have it and have used it often.

The CU could actually be a boon for master docs. Since MD is a combat profession and assuming mastering in two combat profs will produce a HAM of 3k, docs will have a 3k HAM. Docs being the only ones to use stim Ds, may be the only profs to be able to solo some NPCs, that other two combat masters would run out of health fighting.

Master docs with another combat class could be the most powerful soloists in the game.

Look again. Docs don't need stims to heal. Stim Ds will be used by other elite combatants to heal themselves. Doc healing has become ability (magic) based.

I think you miss understand how the meds will work.

Stims will be usable by anyone. The lvl of stims they are able to use will depend in thier character level. So anyone with two fight classes, for example, would be able to use Stim D's.

Doc, however, do not need stims to heal damage. They are able to heal by simply using a skill (no meds required). Enhancers are meds that provide a boost to this healing ability. The other bonus is that the healing time is faster for docs. So not only do they not need stims they can also heal faster. The question we do not yet know is how powerful our heals will be. The most likely case is that we will be able to heal more damage than a Stim D. So a doc will not only be able to heal faster they will be able to heal more in each shot.

So your idea that doc/fighter = great tank may still hold true just not exactly as you described.

IMO the doc's just got the shaft

My Doc is also a Master Swordswoman

Sure i have sold buffs a few time's but for the most part i reserved my buffs for guildmates and i enjoyed being able to participate in a dungeon run with my guildmates being an effective doctor keeping them and my self healed and also being effective in a melee skill

Whats all this commotion bout doc's healing them selves? we always could couldnt we?

i too enjoyed the crafting part of doctor and have 100's of buff packs that will now be worthless not to mention using my 30k resource reward on the best liquid class 4 this server ever saw . Now it's all good as dust.Hours spent on endor getting the best herbivore, harvesting it, taking it home crafting it, buffing self and guildees, going on a krayt hunt, keeping the pistoliers alive and healed while i get some wacks in on the krayt :-(all gone, i will sure have to rethink this cuz im not sure i wanna continue paying for playing when it just lost its appeal to me as a game
