After hugging my pillow for a few hours and a small breakfastI must say that I don't think that bad about the stat migration anymore. There may be a problem on lesser populated servers tho (I guess that was said before, but anyway..). Just making it faster with ID-help would maybe have been the best way.. who knows.
The thing that really bugs me is that I have to go to that darn tent to do the advanced stuff. I say it again, please give us personal IDing stations and (the idea just floated above my had like a holo-emote ) make an IDing module for droids. That would mean DEs have more work and we could do the advanced stuff on the fly

I rarely post, but this is something I feel I must have some input on... To be short & sweet, this is simply a bad idea that only the miniority of the population will feel this as an improvement of the game.

Think about the title "Image Designer" What does this have to do with changing your health/action/mind bars around? This is like going for a makeover at the local beauty parlour and asking for some help in building your muscles or increasing your knowledge power. Their response would be "**edit**? we can only do your nails here buddy... go read a book, take a course or go to the gym"

I think the statement below disturbs me more than the stat "nerf" itself:

A quote from JustG:

"The stat-changes are a big issue, and we did not announce them beforehand. We chose not to announce because we anticipated a large, initial backlash, but ultimately felt that it was the best thing for the game"

Players can no longer do their own stat migration, please consult an Image Designer for pricing

Now that is a *really* bad idea.

Faster? like in 10 mins? that is good. Making you see an ID to make adjustments to you stats ... that is like one of the worst changes you guys have proposed.

I disagree with ID's being the only ones available who can do stat migration. As a fairly new player (5 weeks) who is still learning *lots* about the different professions --armor, what buffs do, how to fight different animals -- I am constantly tinkering with my stats. Half the time I'm not sure what a stat migration will do, so I try it and see. As I move up my chosen profession's tree (fencer, among others) and try different armors and movesI learn more about what stats I need. The ability to experiment was something I always have appreciated.

I used to be an image designer and I loved being able to give people what they wanted. The worst part was when people didn't know and demanded you "make them look awesome" without us knowing what "awesome" means to them. What does stat migration have to do with looks? This profession was one of the few never about functionality, it was about atmosphere. Roleplay or not, stats have nothing to do with image, in my opinion. Internal body mechanics seems to be more the role of genetic engineers, not image designers.

If the dev's want to limit stat migration, let ID's do it in 10 minutes (for hologrinders or the impatient) but leave players with the ability to work with them, albeit slowly -- make us wait a week or so. Again, as a new player, this will be tough on those of us who are still experimenting and learning. And even if I had been playing for a year, if I was always an artisan what would I know about commando needs, or swordsman? That takes tinkering!

Personally, I think having to find and PAY an ID to migrate my stats will be annoying as hell.

Its your own fault for say things like "you don't help me in combate so why should I pay you" when dealing with IDs, or stealing there sevice by getting work done then walking away. and I am not talking about you personaly but people like you as I have never met you as I don't play on your server but your type.

OKay I'm getting seriously annoyed with all the people who whine because they cant find an ID. HERE'S SOME INFO GUYS:

ON THE ID FORUM IS A LISTING OF EVERY REGISTERED ID AND WHAT GALAXY THEY'RE ON!

WE DONT LOOK FOR YOU YOU HAVE TO COME TO US!!!

How many doctors wander the streets looking for injured players to instantly patch up? They wait for the customers and we have to as well.

And secondly i'm sick of ebing called a useless profession. BITE ME if i play the game my way and not yours! The IDs have been THE MOST PATIENT profession yet. We have had next to nothing the entire game and when we finally get something all you can do is whine because it wasn't yours!

You may also notice that some of the most vocal opponents to this change are IDs. So if you think that combat is the only thing that matters in this game then go play KOTOR cause im sick of being called useless or unimportant. I paid my money jsut like you and i deserve the same respect you do.

I think it's great ID's are finally getting new stuff to play with, and the new ID interface is awesome, it'll make design sessions so much easier on everyone. But.. (you knew there was going to be one hehe)...getting a new "feature" (stat migration) at the expense of 97% of the player population (31 out of 32 professions) is wrong. While not everyone plays around with their stats, many do, including myself. Oh well, one less fun thing to do

Sorry bout the blow up but it really is annoying to have people bad mouth what you like doing. The stat migration idea was actually opposed by IDs we had suggested letting us INCREASE stat migrate but not at the cost of everyone else getting it slowed down. We opposed that idea fromt he get go and many an ID considered dropping the profession because of the pressure it would put on us. Not to mention the fact that we would get MASSIVE blame for it even though it hasn't hit live yet.

I thank those who are supporting us and for those of you think we suck...well read my previous post for you answer.

Anyway, if you read the various threads about what's in developement or even the new newsletter, you'll notice that the combat revamp is sheduled for publish 10. It's a major coresystem which has been postponed a couple times. If you think about it a bit longer than just a minute, you'll come to the conclusion that this major coresystem is easy to mess up. Now if you think about that for a moment you'll realize that there will be a team for nothing else but coding this major coresystem.
So what about the other people of the Dev-team? Right! They're doing other stuff like this stupid little ID update which is absolutely unneccessary and a waste of time. They could use their time and brainpower to boost BH for example, but wait.. there is a complete team sitting at their machines to revamp the whole combat system for publish 10..

Got it?

You mean to tell me that the development process for the combat revamp couldn't possibly be done faster with more people working on it? So these folks that just happened to be sitting around with nothing to do decided to revamp ID? You honestly think that their talents, skills and input could not help the combat balance? Your point is silly.

My point is that ALL development should have been put into the combat rebalance. Like I said before, people do not leave this game because they can not get a good haircut. They leave this game because;

  • BH takes 217 pts and sux

  • CM can chuck their goo 90m, always hit, and 3 incap kill an entire base defense force

  • FOTM templates make everyone a rifleman/tk/fencer/cm combo of some sort

  • There is no point in the GCW

  • etc. etc. etc.

What good is it to be an ID if there ain't anyone left playing the game?

Stat Migration: Image Designers now have the sole ability to migrate player stats faster than the previous default migration rates. The process will take 10 minutes and requires the Image Modification Booth located inside the ID tents. This functionality has been revoked from the general player base and now requires an Image Designer.

So it sounds like the previous default rate still applies (and someone from TC confirmed this). It looks like if you want to migrate quicker, see an ID, others you'll have to settle for the previous default rates.

Gods, quit crying people.

No decay + uber loot = /spit on crafters

Fix the economy and give crafters their $$$ worth... give us real revamp.

Remember... to Cancel you have to go to Register Expansion in the Launchpad.

This is just as frustrating as trying to meet up to complete an auction. That's why most of us have vendors established to complete non-linear transactions. I'm a PA leader, and have been in game since the launch. I have had over 100 people on my friends list in the time the game has been out. I have only known TWO players who did ID. One was me for a holo, and the other has retired from the game.

Given my history, network of friends and weeks of hopping planets doing asearch (as well as ringing the guild chat for other players to assist in a search), we have come up with ZERO. So now we will be forced to make some very challenging off hours appointment via gmail with someone on this forum list, re-roll the character (not likely) or take up ID to get our HAM adjusted?!!

I suggest that if this is going live, that there be an NPC in those tents anytime they are not occupied by a Master ID. Have the system check every 60 seconds and then activate an NPC that can do this if a MID player is not occupying the tent.

My feedback:

- Stat migration is going to be a disaster as many of us tweak this every few weeks and will now be stuck with what we have, be forced to get someone to grind ID for the guild (no volunteers to do this since the game was launched), or re-roll the avatar (not likely).

- Improved interface is a great idea. This has been a huge issue on both sides of the equation.

- Tattoos and body jewelry are in high interest and demand. It is a mistake to keep this waiting and to provide glowing emotes and introduce stat frustration for the player base.

Just my opinion.
