Thread: October 3rd Update
Among other things, I’m also very happy with the improved Friends List. You will be able to add comments next to friend’s names and classify them into groups. Additionally, the names are colored when they are online making it much easier to see who’s around at a glance.
Yes!!! (Does the dance of joy)
I am so happy to hear about this. I've been keeping everyone I know sorted on random slips of paper since beta. Thanks so much for the heads up and thanks to the devs that finnally worked intotheir que.

The placing of all structures (including player city ones) into architech is a great idea!!!
as a master architech, i have not had anything to do for some time. Its not worth the effort of getting ore to thensell houses whenby people trying working thier way up are selling them at discounts. Please place all player structures into master and givesus master architechs something to sell besides theoccasional pa...
So we know we'll have kaadu and dewbacks. Presumably banthas. I'm pretty sure I saw a saddled ronto in Mos Eisley. I wouldn't want to ride one, as their necks are just too big and it'd been difficult to look around and see where you're going. ![]()
The IGN picture looked like a gualama, not a krabhu. I'm hoping we'll have a humbaba option, and I'm guessing cu pa will be on the list.
Kevin, when will this information be released? I'd like to start polling my non-CH customers for their mount of choice as soon as possible. ![]()
By the way, are non-CH going to be able to ride dewbacks? Dewbacks are CL 18 creatures, so I'm a little unclear on how this is going to work.
Who cares about mounts, when some a$$hat is going to RTEF it dead anyway...
In all seriousness though, is the RTEF stituation going to be in this coming patch????
You don't read the Dev posts that often do you Camero?
no I don't. Thanks for answering.
I just want to chime in and say that I agree that not having the urban planner profession is a bad idea. Iwas not planning on becoming an Urban Planner,as it did notfit my playstyle, and I am not an architect but I do think this profession will add a lot to the game.
There is already going to be a relatively small demand for city structures since the few cities that do existwill probablynot need more than one of each structure. The buildings thatonly higher ranking cities can getwill be in even smaller demand. Giving every architect the ability to create city buildings when there is no demand will only lessen the uniqueness of those buildings and cheapen theexperience for those who were looking forward to becoming Urban Planners. Ilike the ideathat those whoreallyenjoy the architect profession will have the opportunity to take it a step further and specialize themselves as Urban Planners. The way I see it, most cities won't need more than one Urban Planner, so those who really want to do this should have that chance.
Also, if every architect with the construction branch can make a town hall, what is to stop every group of 3 or 4 houses from building their own? It seems like this would make it much less of an accomplishment to organize a large city that becomes an epicenter of the planetary community. Maybe there are other limits in place to prevent this that I do not know about at this point.
Either way, I hope they will reconsider scrapping the plans for Urban Planner. I thought it would be an interesting profession to add to the game. Maybe there are good reasons for not having it, but if so I have not seen them discussed.

My best guess as to why no Urban Planner: There probably isn't enough stuff to build to merit a whole seperate profession at this point. That, and the very point you brought up...these big player city structures are not going to be made that often...so thats a lot of skill points to devote to something thats going to be used once a blue moon. Down the line if they add a ton of stuff that lets you customize a city, yeah I could see a new profession being added in, but the number of structures coupled with the limited need to construct them probably is the big reason why.
Also, my general feel from the recent dev posts is that these structures are going to be very hard and very expensive to make...so the one advantage to Architects is...the one who gets the job will probably be able to charge a good bit for the building.
