I'm all for this change, it'll be cool to see jedi come out of hiding and fight, but, the problem that is deffinately going to happen is there are not going to be enough pearls or crystals to go around, there aren't enough as it is, there is deffinately not going to be enough when this happens. So, you will probably either A) have to increase the drop rate of pearls or crystals, or B) remove thoseparts from the schematics of lightsabers in favor of something else more attainable (quest related items from a jedi trainer maybe?) But as it stands now you are going to have a problem.

What a **edit**ING Joke ! ... The Devs are taking developement time away from every other profession out here that has needed some serious fixing since Day One ... and is now going to magically throw in some very interesting changes to a class that is a little over 2 Months Old ?!

**edit** is wrong with your Priorities Devs ? ...

And to do this without providing ANY fix for BH droids !

YOU GUYS ARE BLOWING IT BIG TIME WITH THIS TYPE OF A FIX BEING APPLIED AT THIS TIME ....

/sigh

>What I still do not like is the path to opening the FSCS. I believe this should be far more quest oriented that it currently is.

Changing a system that affects invested time of the player base is categorically unfair. interested to see how the implement it. Time invested needs to directly apply to whatever changes they are making.

I think this is the best news I've heard ever since the game was released. And I hope we see a total end to the holo-grind. It's such a bad system.

Thank you devs!

Hiya

I think this new is good and bad

First off its gettin rid of the **edit** hologrind! YAAA!

We will have pvp again

But the "quest to become a jedi" will take a while to implant so i dought we will see this for a while...which is kinda a good thing...i dont really want to see overt jedi in theed/cornet.

The problem i see is everyone is eventully gonna be a jedi...and in the SW universe...its not like that!!

Maybe when they implant this new "jedi quest" thing they will make the story follow along so that we arein the timeframe of after vader is defeated andthe jedi are finaly starting to get there **edit** together. If that happens i wouldnt mind seeing some overt jedi running around..more for the killing

I think a great time to move the story along and implant the new "quest to become jedi" would be in the expansion with all the ships and such...and really make those jedi missions interesting

well those are my 2 cents

Many of us have been grinding professions like mad to get the jedi slot. I am near 20. This has been a significant work effort.
I don't feel like I'm exaggerating when I say that if you make changes to the system that determines force sensitive character slots and put all of us who have been working very hard on this for months back to the finish line, the exodus from this game will be of epic proportions.
The current system that is in place is terrible, but many of us have chosen to deal with it and are too far along to have that effort minimized. Please keep that in mind.

Welp.. guess this is another piece of the puzzle leading to Star Wars Dark Forces: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy: Galaxies.

I remember when Q or Haden... ack.. can't remember which now! - anyway, they said at E3 that.. okay, let me look up what I wrote.

"He told us that if you want to play a game where you are running around killing things like that, you might want to check out Jedi Knight III. If you want to have a Jedi that is more consistent with the timeline, like Obi Wan, then this is the game for you."

Well with the Holocron-fest for Christmas, changes to make Jedi easier, and obvious promotion of Jedi as one of SWG's key features, it is obvious Jedi is the end-game for all players in SWG: it is the level 60, 7x GM, level 99, etc. of SWG. That's really sad because that's never how SWG was supposed to be. This game is going to boil down to a massive multiplayer Jedi Knight, which isn't what any of us signed up for.

Always in motion is the future: Changes to the Jedi System

It has been agreed that the development team should revamp the Jedi system.

The second phase will be to rebuild the Jedi system to be quest-oriented; and toinclude the familiar elements of Force Sensitivity, Jedi-oriented quests, as well as many other elements the developers and the community feel should make up the process of becoming a Jedi.

So when yousay it is quest oriented are you saying that we can purpsue opening the FS slot and actually have a known way for us to do it? When do you plan on elaborating on this subject because atm that is really vague.

Yes, the hologrind was a horrible system, and I'll be glad to see it go.

If they take away permadeath for Jedi, I don't want to be one anymore. Ever.

How could anyone be upset? Sorry you wasted your life powergaming a STUPID holocron but Tuff! That system sucked and kudos to the Devs for swallowing their pride and making the change.

That system was going to single handly ruin this game and I am happy to /wave bye to it for good. I was cosidering quitting as i had four holos in my inventory and had refused to even use them after my last one. I hated giving up a charecter I had worked so hard for.

So if you are bent about this, tuff turkey. If you liked this game and where not going for "teh win", you would be happy that changes are coming.

What an uneducated and half-thought statement. You didn't want to give up a character to go for Jedi, yet you mock those who had the desire and dedication to try. You were the person meant to be kept from Jedi because you were too lazy to go and get it. But going into any more detail about why this comment was stupid will only draw me into an even less interesting argument, so I'll leave it at that.

p.s. It's spelled "tough"

Oh...my...lord.

Please tell me that I am not insane when I took two things from that posting :

1) Jedi are getting (partially) fixed, and

2) The FSCS system is being revamped?
