Great job guys (devs) !!

You've gotten everything right. Since the beginning of this game, I've been needing more depth, but you totally blew me away and all other games by providing more depth than I could have imagined. You put alot of time and thought into this, and I say to you job well done.

Wow, already at 5 pages. There's no way I'm gonna read through all of that

So I'll just ask and hope no one else has asked. From the description in the Friday Feature, Jedi Knights will be flagged permanently overt. There's also static gathering points for Jedi (the enclaves).

Now we all know that the server population will quickly discover where the enclaves are. They won't be able to enter, but what about people of the opposite faction of the Jedi enclave sitting outside overt, ready to kill any Jedi Knight that even approaches the enclave? Will there be anything in place to prevent this sort of thing from happening?

I already posted a reply on this in the topic i created but..

The Enclaves will be patrolled by sentinels to protect their integrity and keep away the unranked Jedi and non-Jedi.

A wild guess would be to protect this those Sentinals must be very high in level, you may have to look at 25+ sentinals around the cave with 1+ million HAM, 90% resists and Heavy armor.

OK I have a question....

Since I will not be able to keep my "mundane" skills if I choose to follow the path of the Jedi, what does this mean in terms of "Jump to Lightspeed"?

Will I be prevented from gaining piloting skills if I choose to follow the Jedi Knight trials?

As Luke and Vader were both pilots, I do not understand how this would be handled

TH

first I'm thrilled to say that Jedi Archives Volume II is the best thing I've read concerning SWG since I first read the back of the retail box.... no emoticon can express my happiness... and I don't even have a Jedi or the FSCS unlocked o.O

secondly, I have a question (as usual ):

Now, upon completion of the Jedi Knight Trials, a Jedi will be flagged permanently Overt members of their faction; Light Jedi will be flagged Rebel faction and Dark Jedi will be flagged Imperial faction.

after the Jedi has been "flagged permanently" will he/she still be able to un-train the Jedi skills that force PVP?
in other words, I'm asking if by "permanently" doyou mean permanently or just for the duration fo the time that that Jedi is at the level of Jedi-hood that forces PVP?

thanks very much

On robes.

Gone will be the days of Jedi running about in armor. The Jedi robe will provide a hidden toughness value that will protect the Jedi similar to armor but provide more of a Jedi feel. These robes will be issued to you as you advance through the quests and throughout the Force Ranking system and each have their own look based on rank. Should you lose rank your robe will be stripped from you and the appropriate level reissued.

Does this mean the starter robe will be say, 50% to all, knight robe 80%, etc? Does this mean that the game will not allow Jedi to equip armor at all? If the former is true and the latter is not, then I will be wearing my 90% composite still... Sure robes look cooler, but all the minmaxers will wear what is better protection.

On skill mods.

I've always felt that Jedi should have a "force dodge" or evade, as well as the saber block. If you watch the clone wars series on cartoon network, dodging attacks is something Jedi are extremely proficient at. I'm dreading the thought that Jedi defenses will once again be overlooked and a pistoleer or fencer will get hit less often then a skilled Jedi which makes absolutly no sense at all.A normal person should not be better at dodging / evading / avoiding attacks then a skilled force wielder... Come on! A Jedi at the highest levels should dodge and saber block SO much that they are practicly untouchable (pre cap defenses anyone?). Watch the clone wars series where Mace is dodging insane amounts of fire, even without a saber in hand.

Saber block against melee.

Another blatant oversight that is sickening. If someone comes at a Jedi with a sword or axe they wouldn't stand a chance (ok certain weps I guess don't get cut by a saber, so I'm told). IMO saber block should work against melee, And when a successful block is done against a melee weapon the weapon should take 50% damage to condition (to represent the saber cutting through it), And the player should take an action hit that does 50% damage to their action pool (to represent their limb being severed).

I had such high hopes for this revamp, and now I find myself fearing the worst. That things are going to go unaddressed and then it will be too late ie "Jedi already had their dev time, have to wait another year".

For example, a player can purchase a box of Crafting Sensitivity and gain a small bonus to crafting. This simulates their character being more in tune with the Force so they may have slightly better reflexes, insights, etc. All these skills are passive and do not generate "Jedi visibility".

I don't like this part of the system because it will make force grinding mandatory for everyone. At least the old system was optional for anyone who didn't care about being a Jedi. If force sensitivity adds a bonus to normal skills, including crafting, then all crafters will have to become force sensitive to compete in the player economy.

Yay!

I'm happy...

Can you let us see the new skill tree, and the conversion rate?

Any word about lightsaber blocking being able to reflect the shot back at an attacker?

Will the Color Crystals be able to be crafted and not "found"?

It also says that your main will be force sensitive, and your unlocked will not.

Is that true for those whom have already unlocked and moved up the jedi path with their second char?

We need toconsider the economic dynamics of "tuning" a Crystal.

All Crystal will have the same value in the un-tuned state, since no one can describetheir damage characteristics. Therefore the auctions for Crystalswill now reflect only demand, and not quality.

Once a Jedi "tunes" a Crystal, he sees the damage and it now can ** only ** be used by him. Its value to anyone else is zero.

I believe the Dev's intent in this approach is to reduce the price of Crystals.

Any confirmation from the Dev team?

TH question:

Will a 5th Generation Perl Saber (4 pearls) brake down in to 4 pearls when it's done? Or will it break down into a pearl and a 4th gen, then another pearl and a 3rd gen and so on?

Just one question.

Will sabers still do kinetic damage?

There is no mention of the saber damage type in this at all.

Dont know. We're working to see whats possible.

I really hope they move from kinetic - kinetic is the most widely residted damage type in the game, and it also seems to go against continuity that a beam of light would be the same as a baseball bat

I'd rather see it as Energy, electricity or restraint
