We need toconsider the economic dynamics of "tuning" a Crystal.
All Crystal will have the same value in the un-tuned state, since no one can describetheir damage characteristics. Therefore the auctions for Crystalswill now reflect only demand, and not quality.
Once a Jedi "tunes" a Crystal, he sees the damage and it now can ** only ** be used by him. Its value to anyone else is zero.
I believe the Dev's intent in this approach is to reduce the price of Crystals.
Any confirmation from the Dev team?
Actually he DID say that the higher level NPCs would have better crystals... didn't he? So there must be some internal crystal rating, maybe that "crystal quality" will be seen by jedi, but its actual stats won't be rolled until it is tuned.
Hopefully a Jedi can "tune" a crystal in an interactive way. Let's say tune it for speed, or maybe for low force cost.. etc. One can hope! ![]()

sweet, now bring on publish 10!
yes, can't wait this is great info. Now, im confused this kind of implies we will gain points doing soemthing to buy fs slots...then when we are a padawan we can do FS quests to unlock our second character.
Is it a quest system to get padawan...or is it something else...Ahh the things to ponder on.

WOW, Sounds great ! I'm so looking foward to it.
I do have a question though. This refers to mostly the Dark Jedi Elite. Once the limited number of Jedi Elite slots are occupied, how will they be unseated ? They will have bonus point advantages over any jedi seeking the spot. Not that I would seek it if I ever become a Jedi
It just seems that the first ones to obtain the Elite slots will be unbeatable by others who desire it.
Looks great dev's your doing a good job with it all
the only concern that jumped out at me though was this, at padwan level you can appear on BH terminals if you progress through the branches by using your lightsabre or force powers.
Since BH can hunt these padwan's in training but they are no longer able to wear composite armor, wont it be a bit unfair? I mean you only need to see what a BH with a geo pistol can do to a jedi at the moment to see what happens when you attack someone with without armor on. I guess i just wonder, will the free cloak they get at padwan give jedi a fighting chance? or is getting on the terminals just instant death?
Besides that worry, i think the whole thing rules ![]()
Firstly : WOOT! sounds AWESOME. Thanks for the info TH.
But...
"No more will a Jedi have to worry about lightsaber decay" ...
well, TH, if we have to worry about "Pearl Decay" now... it's the same dang thing.
The concern isn't that "my saber is decaying!" the concern is "my 15mil credit saber is decaying...in a week of gameplay"
we need to know if:
a) Untuned componets will be easier to find in pub 9 ...or....
b) "Pearl decay" is much slower than the current "saber decay"
Will it be pure resistance based, will it modify block/dodge or simply a toughness ?
The last thing we want is for a Jedi Knight to be going out there overt in Mabari level defences vs a MBH with 90% composite
I can't see that happening, but I didn't expect sabers to be kinetic either

I already posted a reply on this in the topic i created but..
Thanks for the attitude. I'm sure your red name helped alleviate many people's concerns over possible griefing.
No. The new character slot will be a standard character. You can choose to go through the Force Sensitive quests again to allow that character to advance their Force abilities, but the entire quest line will need to be repeated with all the normal restraints."
I must agree with some here that this is wrong, but there is a way to solve it and
make everyone happy (I guess). When you create the new character you get the choice
to have it created with the Force Sensitive Quest completed and start your journey
to become a Jedi at once, doing so will remove it from your main character and if you
later on want to become a jedi on that slot as well you have to repeat the quest.
If its possible from a technical point of view I think this would be the best way.
Ofcourse this can only be done if you havent started the Jedi training.
Still have to do it two times if you want both characters to become jedi's but you have
the freedom to not have to give up your main and redo it on the second slot or worse start
all over again with the quests to become force sensitive.
Otherwise the system is lightyears ahead of the old one
Looking forward to Pub10 indeed.
