You dev. need to stop beating around the bush and give a straight explanation and not leave us players second guessing (no deception). Case in point :
When you are referring to professions and you say for example if you have 3 professions left you fall into group X. Do you mean 3 holo professions or 3 professions period. I have mastered 1 or 2 holo professions 1 definitely but have only mastered overall about 6 professions. So does mastering 2 holo professions without regard to the number of other professions get a player in? If anyone happens to know please post. Thank You

I KNOW THIS LOOKS LIKE A RANT, BUT IT REALLY ISN'T.... I WAS TOLD THAT YOU HAVE TO POST IN THE MOST ANNOYING WAY POSSIBLE THOUGH IN ORDER TO BE HEARD IN HERE!!!! TH! I'M CALLING YOU OUT!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND IGNORE AT THE POINTLESS, DESTRUCTIVE RANTINGS THAT ARE GOING ON HERE!
Okay, sorry about that...but these here shenanigans going on here are just plain ridiculous....
TH...I'm sorry you have to deal with this, I hope you get a lot of joy or money out of your job otherwise. Overall, I like the changes to the Jedi system INCLUDING the fact the Old Man doesn't immediately appear. I mean, come on--a little mystery is fun and exciting... Not so much to those jaded by the whole holocron mess, but to a new player or one who doesn't get wrapped up in the forums, yes, it'd be very exciting to get this strange, mysterious visitor to pull you over to the ways of the Jedi. I can't wait till it
happens to me
Also, I've discovered a ton of great content that I had otherwise been ignoring...ie. the rest of the Rebel Themepark and the Mark of the Hero quests
That's my 2 cr.

So even though I have done almost every quest, been active since the beginning, and done 13 professions, finished all the parks long ago, and have over 75 badges, done every npc quest on Corellia and done 4 holo professions...I may still be in group 4?????

I spent most of the night on Dathomir, and lag was non-existant. Time to let Groups 1 and 2 in....
I'm tired of all the lies. Before this patch there WAS NOT ONE SINGLE MENTION of the fact the Old Man would be gated like this. It was not this way in Test Center, and it should not be this way in Live.
How can you honestly expect people to test things from now on, when you go and change them in live anyways?

GOOD DAY, and congratulations TH on your guess youd call it a promotion....
as far as i can tell you dont get credit for the amopunt of profesions you grinded.. you get credit for the number of the profesion you ground that was part of your required master profession set for the unlock .. ie holo 1 master marksman... which is the one and only profesion i have mastered....and it was a holo... my question is... do i fall into group 4? i dont mind waiting.. indeed itll give me time to play tka fior awhile.. ( finnaly earned it after8 months of play time... been working on tk since day one ) but .. id realy like some small clarification.. i started back before the imp crackdown..... back in january to be exact... i love the whole idea of the force sensitive thing.. but.... i need clarification as to which group ill be in? /check and /checkforcestatus say .. i feel a faint sense of the force....so i assume thats from my holo... does this mean i sit back and wait for the old man to come see me? or do i have to do other requirements? ... i remeber reading about force shrine temple things in the village page on this website.. ( it said this to be exact --------->>>>>> Players who have meditated at the shrine in order to become Force sensitive will
meet with ambassadors from Aurilia. One of them (usually Marite) will send a message,
and the player will be told where The Village is. It will, of course, be possible for
players to stumble across Aurilia without being ready to be guided down that path,
though the Aurilians will not train anyone who is not prepared. <<<<-------))) im currently at a shrine with what looks like a jedi statue and force energy flowing about the "MYSTERIOUS SHRINE".... but i use radial menue and all on it ..no meditate option.. no idea if im past that step... assume i am.. gonna try it with a brand new char... but again.. do i just sit back and wait now..? i dont want to be told exactly how to do this.. since i wanna role play the becoming a jedi.... but i would like to know what im sposed to do as far as faint sense of the force this shrine and the old man? im guessing i wait... and im guessing im in group 4 since you only had 6 profession to master back when i joined the game....TH or anyone else for that matter please help clairify this for me.....

People need to learn to read...
0-1profs remaining are automatic: translation, if you completed 7-8 of your holo professions you are in, 2 remaing is 7 completed holos, and don't wase your breath asking how to tell how may you have done, it ain't gonna happen. And forget about weeks untill the 3rd and 4th groups, try MONTHS. Those of you who play just to get jedi and are threatening to quit because you can't have it RIGHT NOW, I say good ridance. "Patience is the way of the Jedi" I myself was a hologrinder and pretty much stoped after publish 9 (18 profs.) Do I want jedi? Yes, but it will come when it comes, not before, and it is useless to whine and complain. So in the meantime I am going to play, support my guild and community and have fun with it. THAT is what this GAME is all about, and it IS just a game.
Just my 2 cents worth, take it or leave it.

It's not grinding if you're gaining XP doing what you like to do. You can choose 6 branches within your interests, and then you can go out and play the game doing what you like to do to get XP in those branches.
YOUR problem is that you see the game through the prism of a "grind", which doesn't make sense to me. Why do you play a game that you consider work? If it's not fun, don't spend your recreational time doing it. SIMPLE.

YOU DON'T **edit**ING GET IT DO YOU! THEY SAID THE NEW SYSTEM WOULD NOT HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING THAT INVOLVED GRINDING. I BELIEVE THAT for the Grinders that did unlock they should already have there jedi. No point for the quest for them cause they deserve to havethere jedi after grinding for so many hours wasting so much of the precious and important time to this game. But the wait is Pure BULLSHYT. I am not going to wait several weeks not to mention months for all the other people. WE WERE LIED TOO. Simple as that. The Devs dropped the ball. So don't personally attack me when more the 1/2 the forum would agree with me!

They have ALWAYS said that there would be equitable compensation for the people who were hologrinding, ... and the system they set up IS FAIR! The free branch unlocks adequately rewards the people for grinding the professions, or have you forgotten that A LOT of people hologrinded even before it was announced that the system to unlock would change. It wouldn't be fair to give those people the shaft just so YOU could feel better about yourself for being a little further behind them in the race to get a Jedi slot.

We aren't really mad about the wait in full *Or atleast not me*
Mst of us are mad at the simple fact that the Devs have been holding alot of information from us as well as posting iinformation OF FALSE HOPE making us think differently from what actually is going on. If I would have known that grinding will get sooner acceptence in the village I am sure that me as well as other people would have continued to grind abit more. Probably not so virgiously but grinding acouple of professions atleast INSTEAD OF COMPLETELY droping the grind considering the fact that most of us thought that grinders wouldn't be rewarded in such a way like they are now which make all of the non grinders wait for days or weeks or even weeks from the way it looks now! ITs just annoying! All this waiting is a conspiracy to get more money from us! hehe

I think that I qualify for a jedi in the new system because when i type in /che it says, "You feel an inner glow, The Force is with you." Does this mean that the old man will visit me in 1-3 days or does it mean that the old man will visit me after the traffic has died down from all the crazy good holo-grinders in the village?
Thunderheart wrote:
When enough people have completed their path, we will open it up the village to the next group. Groups 1 – 4 will qualify for a visit when the village traffic has died down. Of course, if you qualify for the visit under the new system, you will automatically be granted a visit from the old man.

i am talking about the DAMN Profession Grinding before patch 10 dude. And Grinding really is doing something in a repeative action to advance to a higher state. *spend all your time gaining XP your **edit**ing grinding XP*
And all this game is becoming to be is either hours of work and hours of waiting. The main reason MOST *Not all* people got this game was to become a jedi and I know that isnt fully possible but the way to obtain the jedi is hours and days and weeks of waiting and grinding for the that are unlucky
