At the moment, this thread count about a thousand posts, but all we know there is not far than half a million accounts suscribed to SWG. If all we cancel account, therewould alway be 499 000 players paying for this game. SOE loose 0,2% of is audience. Do you really thing that SW geeks would cancel ???
Half a million my ass. They MIGHT have 500,000 players if you add up all the people who have accounts on multiple servers, but they do not have a 500,000 member paying base. And I guarantee you after TH's post went up yesterday, that number went significantly lower.
If it's truly about money with SOE, we'll get an idea of how many people cancelled if they decide to re-focus on the rebalance. Even that won't get me to renew until I see it's actually been published.
Don´t know where those numbers are from, BUT Q-3POs "Review of a year" told us "By February, well over 400,000 people had checked out Star Wars Galaxies." You have to stress "Checked out" (past tense). Which means, there were no 400.000 paying customers in February 2004. It only tells us, 400.000 people have at least once loged in to swg since beta. (And I wouldn´t be too sure, wheter it was really 400.000 different human beings or wheter they meant 400.000 "users" logged, so people with different accounts or people who tried out multiple free-accounts count every time as new)- And may have never bought the game or have canceled since that time. And isn´t it interesting that Q-3PO told us in June inthat anniversary Mail only the usernumber of February but not the one of June? That´s what you would expect to be told, if customernumbers are mentioned in such a letter...
Another hint, that usernumbers go down is, that they character-transfer seems to be a high prority item. You wouldn´t allow and wouldn´t want transfer, if servers were full with people.
Hmm we might actually be in beta.
Combat is not closed to being balanced.
PVE is not close to being balanced.
The GCW is pretty much pointless.
PVP is borked.
There is only 1 worthwhile kind of armor.
The mind pool is the only worthwhile pool to hit.
Many professions are broken.
Hell they fixed jedi tracking after 6 months. So now that part of the game is ready for release.
LOL we are paying to beta test.
I want to be a loyal customer, I have been a loyal customer. But SOE has not been a loyal company.
