Thread: Desired Rewards
Hehe I think some people are forgetteing the obvious and so, are overly trying to protect crafters. Look at it this way if you go on uber quest to get say one uber premade item, in the process of doing so you are using player crafted items. If quests are uber encounters then chances are you are going to use up alot of the vit of said player made items.
Ergo to get one unique item a good percentage of player made stuff you had on you will need to be replaced sooner then if you never did quest. Point is crafters not be put out of the loop.
I am of course presuming said quests be tougher than anything else put in game so far, but in the end the risk worth the reward.
sorry....wanted to add on to previous post:
simple to make loot better and keep crafters in company..make better armor attachments, clothing attachments etc. like the attachments you already have in the game, except make these a lot better and a lot harder to get. These will not affect crafters in any way...because you NEED armor to attach it to....add weapon attachments that last forever that you get for doing an epic-like quest.
SIMPLE...
attachments won't affect crafters negatively in anyway...you still want the BEST armor to attach it to
Well, from what I've seen everyone wants to make something that benefits only them. And why not just do that? (by the way, I'm Telakyte, greetings all, first post of many).
Designers... Try a quest that's multipart, BUT made for both crafters and fighters. It should also give a badge and perhaps a title. One part of the missiongives only a crafting schematic, or say a special tool that improves on a drop for another part of the quest. Which now brings me to the melee/ranged fighter. His part of the quest will give him an armor or weapon drop that is not only rare, but actually powerful. Upon completion the crafter will be able to improve upon the armor making it really worth it's while. This allows for both crafters and warriors to fight along side each other for mutual beneft. Sure the crafter can get his schematic, but he won't be able to finish without the warrior part of the mission. Of course vice versa. Both get the badge, (perhaps faction points to make completion of the mission even more inviting), a powerup, and a schematic (or something just as good).
The key should be to allow both crafters AND warriors to need each other, and do an incredible quest. Just a thought for the all powerful ones.
I did the rebel theme park as a lower lvl CH and working on novice rifles, you get JUNK (literally) brokenb stuff that even an artisian can't do anythign with (wow u can seel it for 7 credits maybe from a junk dealer) I was so upset with this game when I spent much time WALKING to rebel bases and doing those missions and Luke gives u more junk **edit** didn't get anything worth anything. I would say a piece of food from every mission would bge better , but.. It would still not be worht it, and yes at leasta badge u might look cooler or be able to show that u did spend the time on it
.
The list is soooo long and still dosnt hurt the crafters one bit...
1.A schematic usable by a crafter making a power full piece of armor (helmet, Chest plate and so forth) of making a totally unique Weapon component, or even weapon power up, Or maybe a different design House or Droid (to keep the architects and DE's in there too)Maybe even a schematic to some wierd genetic distorted funny animal, or an insane Buff for Doctor and so on.. 1-5 uses on each schematic..requireing insane amount of mineral but not specific mineral...(like Stell, bot NOT like duralloy steel)
2. Badges, Titles, Medals.
3. Special Clothes (like getting a Parade Rebel Uniform when completing the Rebel Theme park)
4. Paintings, Kryat skulls, Banners, all sorts of thing to decorate your home and showing you did something. Without having to abandon missions half way through to keep the item. (wich should NOT be possible)
5. Huge loads of money...felt really wierd doing the Jedi Quest on dantoine (thought at the time it had something to do with unlocking the force slot) getting killed 5-6 times trying and ended up with measly 800 credits and 20 faction points after the last one...I should at least get a Badge or something and 20k credits. And maybe 500 faction. I could get 20 times the money and faction by running rebel missions from Moenia and in fact do the very same thing, run somewhere kill something, and run back.
6. Faction point.....Why dont i get faction from completing a Jabba mission??? Seems to me like he and his people would love me more every time i complete one more mission for him..Okay at times you do get some faction by killing whatever he wants you to kill....but he should still "hand" you additional faction when you go get the reward should he not?
Well thats top of my head..
I don't like doing tedious terminals quests over and over, but the rewards are better than npc missions. I would make the rewards for npc mission maybe a temperary enhancement like doctors can enhance HAM, you could enhance like pistol speed for a pistoleer after finishing a long npc mission.
Ping!!!!
More paintings and schematics.
Make it benifitial for a crafter to find a quest. I'm a crafter, but I like to get out too. ![]()
Drop items like krayt tissue that enhance an item.Win a special barrel that when constructed in a carbine gives it like +20 acuracy. Huge stuff like that. Make them hard to obtain, but still require going to the crafter to make the item.
No uber weapon drops, just uber component drops.

Uhm, Sucran - both those items ARE in the game. Do some investigation.
How about letting the palyer have a choice of several rewards at the end of a quest. Here are my thoughts:
1) For the Rebels a one shot anti-AT-ST rocket. Boom-splash
2) One extra lot space for that player.
3)A tatoo commemorating the event. (maybe temorary maybe permanent)
4) A medalion like awarded like at the end of ANH to Luke, Han and the crew. Something you can wear or hang on the wall.
5) Some really cool shades, not many of these around.
6) A free trip to somewhere. Aprepaid holiday could include a limited time stay in a cool beach front condo somewhere, and some spending money.
7)A one free clone certificate or prepaid insurance up to a certain value.
8) Shoes with lights in them. Heck we need more clothes with lights, maybe it's more Bladerunnerish than Starwars but would still be cool.
9) A date with a Star or Starlette, whatever turns your crank. An NPC you meet at a ceratin spot and he/she follows you around as you go to dinner, etc, etc. Devs could have some fun with the AI on this one.
10) A rain-stopper flare gun. One shot up in the air ceases and rain storm starting or in progress.
11)A regular Light producing flare gun. Illuminates an area for a finite amount of time.
This is just a brain-dump of ideas, hopefully it may spark others.
COOL CLOTHES.
Like for the Nightsisters, wearing their garb would be the best! Or --- perhaps getting the clothing schmatics to give to tailors so THEY can make them... either way, I want a nightsister costume =)
This of course applies to armor and armorsmiths, as well.
