Personally, I think this close to the scheduled release date of the patch WE ALL deserve to know where our existing jedi will will be in the new system. If I am a 4-3-4-4 Initiate, I want to know what skills I will be able to pick up in the new system. If it's just 1H saber 1-4 and techniques 1 and 2, fine. But we all deserve to know NOW how this massive nerf they call a revamp will affect our current jedi.

DEVs said we need to spend all skillpoints at the descipilines and have some high boxes in order to beginn with the knight trial.

well what about this template- 6 frorce sensitive trees: 24
- 1 full master in one discipline
- 2 disciplines with two trees each
- 1 discipline with one tree in it.

this leaves me with 13 points over. so i can learn another novice or first box somewhere. thus still leavig me with skillpoints over and so preventing me from knight trials?!

here's a question regarding conversion on the utility side rather than xp...

will deconstructed lightsabers result in "tuned" or "un-tuned" components? namely...will the pearls' use be limited to the jedi who built/deconstructed the saber, or will they be in their "raw" form which would allow future trading of the pearls before having them "tuned" to a specific jedi?

I am somewhat confused about the idea that jedi xp will be hard to come by. I was playing on the TC2-Bria the other night, and I received a total of approximately 3500 jedi xp for killing 2 fambaas--TWO FAMBAAS! That's not bad xp. Of course the issue may be that I was using lightsaber throw and dervish (160 pts and 240 pts per attack respectively).

When Keldarin says "6 of the Force Sensitive lines", he means 6 of the FS trees (columns)?

My god thats insanly good xp. better than any i have seen. I have been killing quenker lairs the entire lair spawn if every spawn is an adult using max force (at novice lightsaber) and i get less than 3k. its 255 per kill for a total of 2295 total kill xp and maybe 130ish more for the saber. Either they fixed some of the xp issues or the fambaa are bugged as heck.

STill with the speed being fixed i cant even kill quenkers anymore so fambaas are way off my list as possible targets. guess its back to tyrena for afk killing of meatlumps since atm the xp output is the same. roughly 1k an hour soooooo i should get my first box of ls by the 22nd just in time to maybe test 1 special and get wiped. ahh well.

Your obviously a jedi Knight, and at the pinnacle of Jedi evolution before FRS. Having full force power and at least 0044 LS tree kinda makes your point invalid. That xp isnt possible for low level Jedi with hardly and force and very limited saber specials, but the cost per box is the same.

Keldarin,

I want to congratulate you guys on all the amazing work you've done. Respectfully though, I think you guys are very confused about your own revamp. Creating diversity among jedi is a wonderful thing... I agree. However, what you failed to account for is the fact that ultimately there will be little to no diversity. You see, combat is essential to leveling. In fact its the only method of leveling. Additionally, pvp is required to rank up in the FRS. With that in mind, all jedi who plan to participate in the FRS are REQUIRED to take up heavily combat capable templates.

Since FRS jedi will be required to combat to gain more power, you will see very little to no diversity in templates. This is highly unfortunate since a non combat support template such as master healer/master defender/something enhancer could have done wonders for a group. However, that template cant do wonders as a jedi in the FRS. In fact, that just has no method of ever changing his/her template agagin since they have no combat skills.

There are multiple solutions to this. The one I like the most is drastically reducing skill point requirements to master lightsaber (or dabble). That way, all jedi will have ENOUGH combat capability to level and participate in the FRS effectively, but also enough skill points left over to REALLY create a diversity among templates in the community.

Overall the revamp is a wonderful thing. Naturally I worry about balance issues right now, but I'm hopeful you'll address them before live. Force weaken/force choke stacking arent fed back using force feedback, and dont seem to be resisted by force shield. Unfortunately that also means total death without a chance to heal I'm hoping you'll see this at the dev sponsored pvp thing on the 9th.

Finally, I hope to god robes have a significant resistance to poison and disease ultimately leading to immunity for council members and the leader. If not, a single combat medic will be able to defeat the entire jedi council single handedly (dont assume all jedi will have healing powers) with another brawler keeping a warcry and intimidate macro going. Covert members of the opposite faction can use warcry and intimidate on a jedi without penalty or tef.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chianti has this exactly the way it will go down in Live. There will be no diversity, in fact there can't be. We have to continue to grind = need as much destructive force as possible. We have to PvP in order to advance or, we have no choice but to PvP because of "always overt" status. I also echo the concern of the current imbalance, yes, yes I know its being worked on but it was last Nov. when we heard that it would be ready in Jan/Feb. I do not want to be pushed out into general population with a gimped Jedi because you designed for a future combat balance patch that may or may not see the light of day before JTLS in the fall. That equals to 4-5 months of little fun .

Quote from Jedi Archive II:

What will happen to my existing lightsabers?
When the Publish goes live, these lightsabers will not be able to be equipped anymore. Existing Jedi with lightsabers will have the option to "break down" their existing lightsabers into their un-tuned components. They may then re-tune these components to their new lightsabers.

Hope that helps

This a great idea. Add to this if u could re-tune the crystal/pearls when the condition gets low and you'd be set. Even if whenever you re-tuned u lost say.... 5%-20% of the original condition u would at least get a minimal use out of something that is so rare/expensive. I'd even be satisfied with a 10%-30% random drop in condition. The way things r going, even with the way it'll make prices drop since u cant tell what the stats r, obviously there wont be anymore 10 million credit pearls. Just wont happen, probably they'll lvl out at around 3-5 mil. Good idea, kudo's to the dev's for a great idea. Only problem is, wow, I cant repair my saber or re-tune the crystal/pearl. Soooo...... your only losing them how much quicker.....? Your going thru them at least twice as quick, at a minimum. Specially with the week long grind to get one box thats coming up with the revamp,by the time you get2 boxesyou'll be needing to replace pearls/crystals. Yes the price may have went down to half what it used to be, but now u need twice as many cause your running thru them quicker. Not only that, u get less boxes per pearl/crystal because of the horrendous amount of killing u need to do. Which means u need more pearls/crystals again to make it thru jedi.

All in all.... yes u may have lowered the prices, but the demand will be much more. Costing the jedi even more because they dont last as long, and u need more to get thru jedi. Who wants to take a 2-3 weeks after every 2-3 boxes raising money or killing with their alternate character just to get the materials u need to be a jedi? The constant stop and go with whats already gonna be a frustrating class after the re-vamp is gonna kill people.

Please, at least let us re-tune pearls/crystals. Otherwise you'll just make jedi so much more frustrating. Especially for the person that cant play everyday, all day (like me ^_^) They dont have the time to spend (for them it'd take even longer) 3-5 weeks trying to get a more pearls/crystals after they only got 2-3 boxes max.

IMHO...as said by several other people already:

Jedi Initiate Skill branches (x444 for instance) should count twice since

its the hardest grind after all...

the knight/guardian branches can add less...

Some of you people are just amazing.

You complain that there are too many Jedi in the game and then you moan about how hard the new system is going to be to level. I suppose you just need something to whine about.

All ive got to say is: To all the people who are asking questions/complaining about the old/new system; you should be happy that you have got your force sensative slot, being a jedi is totally different to being a "normal" player. I know lots of people who have spent ages grinding and still havent unlocked.. I'd give anything to unlock, but i dont have the time to play 24/7, the new system will make jedi much more diverse, how boring would pvp be for normal people if we all ahd the same skills? The new system also adds an alternative to going around killing everything to get xp. So if your complaining about everyone having the same template or you having to havea similar template dont be a dark jedi in the new system. The devs arent forcing you to go dark, therefore you could chose the healing tree/enhancements tree/powers tree and still get xp without even having to equip a lightsaber until you get to the PvP stage...I myself am probably going to go for healing/powers and a bit of the lightsaber tree....IF i ever get that far as to be force sensative, that way i can get xp from healing others and only engage in combat when i want or am forced to.

For all those people who have questions reguarding what skills you will get when, check outhttp://swgexplorer.dras.us/se/index.htm there is a offline version that loads all the data from the current publish on test center. Which means you know exactly what skills you will get when, and that its what SoE will be releasing.
