Thread: Publish 7 Feedback: Droid & Droid Engineer Enhancements
I started reading all the feedback and I hope that not everyone in the Community is as whiney as those who replied to the post (I didn't read anybody’s post, because all the ones I did read were just so negative).
OK, the droid invasion certainly was not what most (including me) expected. I was also hoping to finally get new Droid models (IG-88 etc).
Though, we wanted the droid combat stats to change and to do that they have to change it in the game. All changes bring advantages and disadvantages, though I guess that most players who play a lot have enough money to simply buy something new if there items didn't change for the better.
I also hope that the developers would pay more attention to some of the wishes of the DE Board. There have been really good ideas out. However, just ranting on boards doesn't help and this may be one reason why the devs miss some good ideas when the boards get filled with none constructive post.
Anyway, just my opinion. I will go back to enjoy the game and honestly, this update was an improvement. Not as good as I expected it to be, but certainly it added good things to the game.

SOE secretly doesn't want anyone being a DE r
I honestly considered trying this profession out, thinking combat droids that could be fun.. that would have been a mistake
Changes that should be made -
Replacing either one branch (or just several of the droids i've yet to see a real use for - **edit** is a binary load lifter good for?) and put in one or two different combat models and modules for them, rate them by the Creature level system, and fix the armor so its actually there.
----------------------------------------------------------
2 publishes since i've started that have turned out to be for the most part dissappointing
How can SOE have the balls to call these poor "additions" and nerf to be a droid publish?
This was supposed to have a whole load of new droids in it when it was sterted being advertised. Then we got an "sorry we need more time gfor combat droids to make them right, and they were all taken out for an unknown period of time.
Utility droids were never considered to go into the publish until way later.
so.... WHY DO YOU THINK YOU CAN CALL A PUBLISH "DROID INVASION" AFTER REMOVING ALL DROIDS?????!?!!?!?
...yay for "adv. R3 combat droids"

Whilst I'm not weighing into the actual argument over what are good/bad changes (I don't have an opinion yet), these changes have been on the test center for quite some time, and it would not have taken a whole lot to read the release notes or hop onto the test center to discover these things for yourself while there was still time to be involved in the development process.
Complaining about things that have been known for some time (ie. no droidekas etc.) is counter-productive, and contributes to a whole lot of emotional wind that the developers have to sort through to actually find any bugs.
If the changes affect you so much, you should have read the notes and checked out the test center, and the test center forums before it went live.
The Droid Engineer community has been complaining since day one about these things. When it went to test center and we saw what we got, we complained louder...problem is NO ONE LISTENS OR CARES!
Don't even think about blaming this on the DEs or the community...we have been fighting on this and trying to raise awareness all along. But, it's a useless battle.

There is No Droid commander right now. so why should we Get Droidicas? even a droid commander can control them (cuz they are higher level 10).
in Publish 7 we got Combat droids with LEVEL 10. the level EVERYONE can control.
ok i have to say... the Armor nerf is BAD! (droids are made of Metal, and should have a high Armor ratings!)
and the Repairkits: may they're great, but THi think there are too much Modules/Rare recources we need to build them!
so far.... /bow

Alas. There are no high-end combat droids scheduled for release in Publish 8, nor has SOE mentioned adding any new chassis.
My one comment so far on building the new combat module droids: It would be useful to have a display along with the "Combat Rating" that gave the damage range, during the final droid assembly. This would be easier than trying to put a damage range on each combat module, I imagine.
Are all of these are working correctly?
> Armour is terrible. Completely upsets the minimal combat capablities
Are combat droids helpful to non-combat and new characters?
> I tried this, generally the answer is no. The Combat enable Probot died easily, while my dewback did not.
Are combat modules stacking?
>Yes, however how they are stacking is a puzzle. A Probot w/ 5 modules a little faster then an Adv.R3 w/ 6 modules . A combat Adv R3 is still a sily concept, but this is not your question.
Are your droids no longer susceptible to poisons, bleeds, /warcry or /intimidate
>Not tested
Are the Droid Damage Repair Kits and Droid Wound Repair Kits working properly?
> I've only tested the lower units thus far. I have not been able to locate the new resources on Tempest. (DEs should have been communicated to and high-quantity resources made generally available about two - three weeks prior to the patch going live. However this again is not your question)
