So are you saying we have to wait for November/December to see the combat publish? That is really going to hurt the game. I'll wager when WoW and other games come out this one will sink like a brick.
I wouldnt say that ppl will leave swg to play wow when it comes out, mostly because some of the ppl here do not want to go through the same problems like we did when swg launched, and i do mean that wow is going to go through the same problems (yes the same problems when i played DAoC, UO, AC,Ao, and more).
Yes some will go, but they will get upset and leave for some things new, but i just hope ppl dont just jump into a new game without thinking what might happen. My advise is that if ppl do go off to play wow, that they first hang out in the wow forums to get an idea of what is going on first. Then when you find out, wait up to 6-8 months befor the major bugs are fixed and that the class changes in the 6-8 months after that.
So in the end, do ppl really want to leave swg when a new game comes out? Maybe, but then again they might just come back when the space expantion comes out.
For me the combat balance is a nice thing we would like to have really soon, but would be even better if the devs would just put in some minor tweeks to what we have to make things usable till the balance is out (one current one was the use of bomb driods for SM and BH, there nice but a little to over powered(and this is coming from a BH)). So we just have to wait.

Thanks for pointing that out, I did not read the projected patch notes, or whatever you'd call them.
Making everyone somewhat force sensitive, in my opinion, is a mistake. That is totally inconsistent with the star wars we all know. Out of all the characters in the movies, who is force sensitive? Yoda, Kenobi, Luke, Lea, Vader, and the Emperor. The thought of everyone and their brother being sensitive sickens me.
I agree here, not sure whose call this was but even a jedi will be a combat char and why fix a combat class before actually fixing combat itself?
And I do think jedi is a minority as well, afterall I have lost 15-20 friends ingame due to combat being boring and unexciting, and I think 1 actually left or stopped playing becuase of the jedi grind. The rest are close to retiring as well, I mean how fun is it to work to achieve master only to drop and try another profession.
Some may come back if combat is fun again, but how many will come back just to try the new jedi approach is questionable. I have a sinking feeling jedi will be the epics of SWG and most of us who played SWG hated EQ epics, but then again I think the combat 'roles' now will have a more EQ type feel, with mezzers, clerics,er healers, tanks, and blasters, but I hope I aam wrong.

I LOVE the idea of CHARACTER TRANSFER!!!!
You do realize that character transfer is going to be purely a service.
As in, it's going to cost $30 to transfer along with many limitations.
Just as it does on UO and EQ. So nothing to really get too excited about. And considering that the "developers" put in way too many servers and many people are stuck on inactive/boring servers... The fee should be waivered for those wanting to be on a populated server.

BH that cant be a pilot because he runs out of skill points?!?! Hrmm... somebody better tell Boba Fett

I'm hoping there will be Core Skill Points and separate Space Skill Points.
I want Core SP in the sense of: Combat
And then Secondary SP in the sense of: Crafting (ie. hobbies)
On top of that... I want guilds! Instead of BH and Smuggler being professians, they could be guilds. A player chooses their own template then can sign up for the BH guild. It adds much more dimesion and immersion to the game then what we currently have.
Ugh... Can't edit.
I wanted to add that for "hobbies" they could make fishing a professian similar to tailor and the like. Those who advance in the fishing professian can find valuable loot (paintings etc) along with enhancements for food and weapons. Sort of like on UO and FF

October or later? well there goes all the people i tried to talk into staying with the game until space expansion came out in summer.
I thought you said SE beta wasn't gonna be nearly as long as the orginal beta, if you start the beta around june when fan fest is, thats almost 4 or 5 months of beta for it almost the same as the orginal beta =(.
