Thread: Producer's State of the Game Letter April 27, 2004
The Jedi Trials (Publish 10) will completely put an end to the Hologrind as a method of achieving Force Sensitivity; and put a quest-based system in its place. Another hot topic with the players is how those that have been grinding away, but have not yet reached Force Sensitivity, will be compensated. Basically we are going to take the proportion of completion that players are at, and allow them to advance more rapidly through a proportional amount of the quests. It will be fair and it will be fun!
my questions:
1. Will pre-badge proffesion masteries be considdered in the holo-grind compensation?
2. What will the criteria be for being considdered a vetran?

Could someone paste the actual Letter in here for me as they have the actual URL blocked at work ![]()
Thanks
Publish #9: Secrets of the Force
- Complete overhaul of the Jedi system - close attention should be paid to how the mission BRIEFINGS are WORDED- they currently offer no information on the jedi 's rank or skill and a MASTER jedi should offer a higher bounty than an INITIATE for example. The jedi offline status and TARGET NOT ONLINE bugs need to be addressed as soon as possible. With bounty hunter terminals we should expect to see mission bounties offer progressively higher payments for each successful bounty completed in view of their rising rep, not a flat rate for each box of investigation filled in. When I see jedi apprentices walking around cities selling goods for millions of credits/waving lightsabres aroundvisibility should increase/stromtroopers should start to appear askikng questions. These issues are a lot more pressing than cosmetic enhancements and fluff like texture mapped paintings as quest rewards in my opinion.
- Character Transfer System
- Hermit Quest fixes
- Smuggler revamp
- Player City Missions
So, uh, when is the most important part of the game, Combat, going to be adressed? I saw no publish number. Does this mean it will be publish 12/13? If so, the devs are making a huge mistake. Devoting 2 publishes to an extreme minority (jedi) is just plain stupid. The most important part of the game is combat (and by relation PvP). It should be adressed first and foremost.
Remember what 'ole Spock said, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few."
In other words, combat (which almost everyone takes part it) should be more important than Jedi.

The combat revamp is sheduled for Publish 10. Also, I don't think the Jedi Revamps affect only a minority. Publish 10 will change the way to become Jedi and also allows minor force sensivity, which will affect everyone.
I think the letter is pretty cool...one of these each month and I keep playing![]()
there are some pretty interesting things in there!
Like the rewards/exclusive ship idea.
Any chance the European players can get a definitive answer on LtJ Expansion coming out at the same time as the US release?
Cheers
