Hi all, thispost is in regards to the Poll currently on the forum main page.

I logged into the forums today and was doing the poll regarding which perspective you prefer while playing the game: 1st-person or 3rd-person. The majority of the vote is to play the game in 3rd-person (for both male and female responses) and I do the same. However, I admit, that I would use the 1st-person view a lot more... certainly, more than I do now, if the view resembled much more of an FPS-type 1st-person view.

For instance, if I could see my gun/weapon/fiching pole/etc., and see it firing/being used while in 1st-person view... then I am positive I would use that view a LOT more. It is fun to walk aorund in a 1st-person view when it is immersive, because, after all, the 1st person view is the most realistic view you will can experience in a video game. BUT, since when I go into 1st-person view now, all I see is like a windshield of a vehicle, it turns me off from that view because I am missing out on a lot of action.

So, if the DEV's could put together some simple close-up models of the weaponsand the bottom halves of a character, I think the 1st-person view would be a lot more appealing to play in for a lot of players. They doesn't have to be highly rendered, cosmetic things, just something simple.... something that is jsut enough to make that view much more interesting.

I would love to hear a DEV's comments on this topic, and if somethign like this has ever been brought up before. I would also love to hear anyone elses comment on the idea.

Thanks,

Risky Business

Again probably the wrong forum for this, but adding SWG and EQ2 to the Sony All Access pass will ensure that a number of people will keep on playing it come the end of the year.

I say if we have to learn it to master it, we should be able to use it. This is in regard to BH's having to master scout to become a BH. I think BH's should be able to make traps that can get NPC and maybe even players. I think that scince BH's have to learn hunting, maybe they should be able to find more "things of use" on corpses. And I have no idea how survival could help a BH, maybe someone can tell me how? This goes for Commandos as well. Why do they have to learn unarmed if they never use it?

I would personally like to see atleast AT-AT's pilotable. I think they would be great for Role Playing.

What I'd like to see is some elite or hybrid melee profession that requires master brawler. Kinda like a melee version of BH... only without the ability to do bounty missions...

I'd like to see a way to name waypoints as you create them. To do this, you'd type:

/waypoint 1234, -981 Joe's Apartment

and it create a waypoint with the name "Joe's Apartment."

i would like to see a BH revamp

i used to play EVE online and i was kinda disappointed when i saw that you cant put bountys on peoples heads. I would like for people to go to a bounty hunter terminal and put the name of the person and how much of a bounty to put on them. Any profession can read the Bounty Hunter terminal but wont have any skills to track them down besides a good /tell. the people that have a bounty on them have a TEF and whoever deathblowes him/her gets the bounty. The devs can also make bountys so that any wrong doers can be punished. The person that has a bounty put on them wont know that they have a TEF so they wont know untill someone tells them or kills them.
this revamp would up the PVP of this game by a lot and this PVP factor is lacking in most MMORPGs

...snip...

Actually this is NOT good, continuity-wise. Roads are no longer needed or maintained and the vestages are in the game (in a degraded state as you would expect). SW has gone beyond the wheel, for at least 6,000 years wheeled vehicles have been obsolete.

Ranger is not a profession. It's a lifestyle.

We need a way to progress even after spending our 250 skill points. Let's face it, after the first 2 months of playing the game it got old. Our friends and hope that the potential this game has will get put to use are the only things keeping us here.

If there is a twi'lek NPC with 25k HAM...why can't I earn 25k HAM?

There needs to be a system where we can increase attributes with work. I'm talking hard work. Perhaps let us trade in 300,000 combat experience for 10 points that we can add to our stats.

3 million combat experience is A LOT for 100 health, but at least it gives us something to strive for. It would also be a good way to phase out buffs over time. I know this will give old players an advantage over the newbies....but we're talking a ton of work for there to be a noticeable difference.

I don't know how this system would work for crafters......if it would even work at all.

I want something to do besides hunting for loot to sell for more credits that I don't need.

Cougre Magnum

There are only two things that can kill me: Silver bullets and GTEF.....and luckily silver doesn't exist in SWG.

I would like to see more looted components in the future, that enhance different aspects of a weapon. I'd also like to see ALL NS drop the vibro motors, since it's very hard to get any with a guild always killing Axhva first thing in the morning.

I'm going to fight for the devs again here, but the timeline should not be advanced (or rolled back) as drastically as being suggested. The only reason to do that would be to allow all players to be jedi at the same time, this will result in a whole bunch of unplayed professions. To be honest here, I think that SOE shouldn't have even bothered with the jedi profession, and started from that. Then when the timeline reached post RotJ, released the jedi profession. Now don't get me wrong, I want to play jedi too, but, the current timeline only really supports a max of four, noticable jedi (Luke, Yoda, Vader, Palpatine). The truth is, all of the rest of the jedi are so minor that other jedi can't sense them. So, again I state, the devs need to finish other things for now to prep the game for the attack on Hoth (snow speeders, converting AT-STs into vehicles not pets, fully finishing the AT-ATs, mass ground transport, mass space transport....). When they are ready with those things, then I would be very happy to see a progression forward into the ESB time period.

I'm going to counter the suggestion to eliminate buffs. Removing buffs from the game entirely would destroy the larger function to several professions. However, the buffs as they currently are, I find to be quite rediculous.... I do not see why a person should NEED to have 15k HAM just to live. The honesty is, no matter how much HAM a person has, if their head gets removed from their body, they are dead! If their heart is removed from their chest, they are dead! So aside from armor, a well damaging head shot 3 should do about 1600 damage, and the target should be dead, (or incapacitated in the case of a player). That being said, this should also apply to ALL npc player race species, and the other similarly scaled beings. I never should have heard about there being 200 stormtroopers all with 100k-300k HAM. I would have to shoot one of the LOW end ones more than 10 times with headshot 3.... ONE stormtrooper... if you go and watch the movies, they usually get incapacitated after only one shot, maybe two if their lucky. Most don't die due to gun shot wounds, the die cause they get blowed up! The empire caters to a 'more fire-power' mentality. If one person can't do it, then 100 can. As such, most imperial stormtroopers, scouttroopers, and TIE pilots aren't the most skilled. They have more numbers. In space, the empire usually attacks with a ratio of 4:1. This is why TIEs don't have shields or hyperdrives, those things were sacrificed so that the ships were faster and more maneuverable, this way the pilots didn't need to be highly skilled. The rebel alliance doesn't have that luxury. They need to keep as many of their people as they can, so their fighters have shields and hyperdrives, at the cost of speed and maneuverablity. This way the only thing that needs to be beaten is the ratio, so all rebels NEED to be better skilled than the empire. This is just a fact of the Star Wars universe.

I think that's all I'm going to do in this one.

Sorry about the double post, but it was due to the time out. Can that be fixed? I'm not the only one with this problem. When ever I make a post, I get logged off when I try to post, so have learned to copy my posts before I try to post, so then when I get the message saying I'm not logged in I can just log in and paste my post again and re-post.
