Thread: On Mandalorian Armor

They might wanna find a better way to encourage BH/Commando to wear it. Maybe have its resists fairly low, in the Tantel range maybe, but if you are a BH or COmmando, you get a skill boost to compensate. Maybe +20 to Ranged and Melee defense, and +20 to Ranged Accuracy and Hevay Weapon Accuracy. Possibly even boosts to Toughness, or a boost to HAM regeneration, or + in Dodge, etc.....
So if you're not a BH, its not so useful to you. And if its hard to craft, then low-level toons wont be wearing it. And they should make RIS armor easier to make too.
Mandalorian armor should be 80-90% resist to just about everything.

Boba Fett was a Bounty Hunter Mandalorians weren't. It would make no sense that only bounty Hunters or commandoes could wear this armor. I see nothing in either tree hinting that they are more skilled in wearing a certain type of armor.
To keep it rare...and because it is starwarsy.
If there is a list of people that want this only wearable by MBH please add me to it, although everyone is mostly built bodywise the same, I believe that making it only for MBHwill keep the numbers down (i.e. keep it rare) and make the game more 'starwarsy'.
By making the armour have high resists i.e. 70+ will enable MBH's to be more successful in curtailing the outbreak of jedis that are appearing. I dont want to seegalaxies fill up withjedi, that would be wrong, help us BH'scull the weakest
.
This should NOT go only to bounty hunters and commandos.
If you're adding a new type of armor which is widely known and appreciated by many Star Wars fans, then it should be available to all who can reasonably wear it. There is no real logic to just limiting it to any one or two classes. Given the type of armor and it's history, I can see limiting it to certain races, or at least, parts of it to certain races (only humans can wear the helmet, etc) but logically, there's no reason why anyone should be barred from using this item based on their profession.
When did Bounty Hunters become the only people that play this game? Since when are Master Commandos more important to development than everyone else?
I'm not a Bounty Hunter, I'm not a Commando.
Someone correct me if i'm wrong... But Don't I pay for my monthly subscription just like you?
Everyone should be given the chance, everyone should be given the option. Not just an elite few that think they are better than the rest.
Thanks for the communication. It has been making a big difference, all the efforts you devs have put into communication, lately. Keep it up. I have a suggestion. If you can't make the cave instanced, like the Corellian Corvette (I can't wait for this one). Then make mando armor require a cert that you have to complete a very difficult and lengthy, combat heavy quest for.
This will keep the armor a little more rare, and out of the hands of people who shouldn't be wearing it (entertainers, medics, artisans).

During our recent Dev Chat, we hinted at the fact that Mandalorian Armor will be added to the game via a new dungeon we're working on now. This caused some confusion among some players who thought that Mandalorian Armor was already in the game... Let me clear that up.
Short Answer: Mandalorian Armor has existed since launch, but we haven't given you a way to find it/make it/buy it...
The Long Answer: We've had the Mandalorian Armor assets for some time (since well before launch), but we've always struggled to find a good way to integratethe armorinto the game. Like Jedi, we didn't want Mandalorian Armor to become commonplace - it's supposed to be rare armor worn by an elite crew of mercenaries (who, by this point in the timeline, have been all but wiped out). We knew that bounty hunters would coveta suit of "Boba Fett's armor," andwould feel "cheated" if just anyone could make, buy, or recover Mandalorian armor. So, there was some back and forth before launch about how to best implement the armor, and thebest choice seemed to beby folding it into some kind of dungeon or quest progression. As many of you also know, however, we're sensitive to cutting crafters out of the economy - we didn't want there to be an over-abundance of "uber-loot" itemsthat removethe combatprofessions' dependency on crafters (as the gamehas evolved, we've becomemore open-minded about the types of loot we can drop, but we're still cognizant of the crafters' needs).During the race towards launch and in the weeks that followed, wejust didn't have time to devise a dungeonor series of queststhatcould provide Mandalorian armor in acompelling manner (with a good backstory, which is really important to me, especiallyin this case)*and* remain true to our design goals regarding crafters.
Stayed tuned in the coming weeks. Before you know it,you'll bebattling your way throughDeath Watch assassins and soldiers in search of one of the most iconic outfits in the Star Wars lore.Just make sure you know a good Armorsmith...

wow so basically it's going to be commonplace?
