I like the idea of what you are doing Devs, just wish something would come out officalliy for those peeps that haven't unlocked yet on thier silent holo prof. I can't ask for to much, so this is good. If a DEV can respond and let us know, that's be great.
Peace to the Rebellion and to the Empire...nay, kill the Empire
We will come out with more info, and it will be fair.
But why not stop the grind right now? Just play! You are going to make it soon enough anyway, and the village is very fun!
What about those of us who have ground 20+ professions, still no unlock? How is this fair, as compared to the original unlockers who completed 5-6 professions?
I have worked 4x as hard grinding professions as the orignal jedi's who unlocked - without the payoff.
The arbitrary way that you changed the unlock process without any notification or disclosure is appalling.
Now you are changing it all around again, and my 23 professions means nothing, IF I DO NOT CONTINUE till unlock.
From what I've seen, the ONLY credit being given now, is for people who have unlocked between 9-10, and for people who have NOT ground professions, mastered 2-3 single professions, and have max exp.
You've had us chasing red herrings...paying full price for the same product as everyone else...yet they get the 2nd character slot on the same server, and those of us who have NOT unlocked are forced to pay TWICE as much for similar functionality....
Fair?? Try thinking of a new term to use...obviously SOE doesn't have a clue about the meaning of the word fair.
Give up the hologrind, huh? Just Play!
hahah...we've been hunting for the holy grail of SWG for over a year... everytime we close in on it, you change the rules...and now we're being told to stop chasing it...
was this your idea of population control?
"oops...6 professions was too easy... lets kick it up to 10...and not tell anyone...that should slow them down!"
"Nope...too many...lets try 15, then 20, then 32!"
"AND lets create a bug that neglects to tell some people, but tells some others, so we can keep the players hopes up for a while..."
"yeah...good idea - we have to hold them off a while, till we figure out a way to revamp it all entirely..."
...
...
"hey...i got it! we'll make it easy!...but we'll but it on timers, and make the destination so laggy with all the players, that they will quit before they gain their force sensitivity!"
"great ideas guys....another good developement meeting. Now who's up for a round of beers, andthen we can spend the rest of the day in 'closed alpha' playing JTL"
How about you change the conversion rates to something more manageable? I wouldn't mind playing a few hours a day, grinding and what not, then be able to become a Jedi by the time Christmas rolls around. That seems decent enough. You should forget the idea of "keeping Jedi rare", since continuity and anything like it were GONE a long time ago. So what if you see Jedi running around anywhere? It's a game, and you need to think of profits. Give the gamers what they want, give them Jedis.
I might just be leaving if a casual player can't become a Jedi within a reasonable amount of time. Not everyone has 8+ hours a day to spend grinding XP on SWG.
And no, I didn't and don't hologrind.
