Devs, you've done something very right here. You've prevented thousands of accounts from being canceled, including both of mine.

I like the idea of what you are doing Devs, just wish something would come out officalliy for those peeps that haven't unlocked yet on thier silent holo prof. I can't ask for to much, so this is good. If a DEV can respond and let us know, that's be great.

Peace to the Rebellion and to the Empire...nay, kill the Empire

We will come out with more info, and it will be fair.

But why not stop the grind right now? Just play! You are going to make it soon enough anyway, and the village is very fun!

What about those of us who have ground 20+ professions, still no unlock? How is this fair, as compared to the original unlockers who completed 5-6 professions?

I have worked 4x as hard grinding professions as the orignal jedi's who unlocked - without the payoff.

The arbitrary way that you changed the unlock process without any notification or disclosure is appalling.

Now you are changing it all around again, and my 23 professions means nothing, IF I DO NOT CONTINUE till unlock.

From what I've seen, the ONLY credit being given now, is for people who have unlocked between 9-10, and for people who have NOT ground professions, mastered 2-3 single professions, and have max exp.

You've had us chasing red herrings...paying full price for the same product as everyone else...yet they get the 2nd character slot on the same server, and those of us who have NOT unlocked are forced to pay TWICE as much for similar functionality....

Fair?? Try thinking of a new term to use...obviously SOE doesn't have a clue about the meaning of the word fair.

Give up the hologrind, huh? Just Play!

hahah...we've been hunting for the holy grail of SWG for over a year... everytime we close in on it, you change the rules...and now we're being told to stop chasing it...

was this your idea of population control?

"oops...6 professions was too easy... lets kick it up to 10...and not tell anyone...that should slow them down!"

"Nope...too many...lets try 15, then 20, then 32!"

"AND lets create a bug that neglects to tell some people, but tells some others, so we can keep the players hopes up for a while..."

"yeah...good idea - we have to hold them off a while, till we figure out a way to revamp it all entirely..."

...

...

"hey...i got it! we'll make it easy!...but we'll but it on timers, and make the destination so laggy with all the players, that they will quit before they gain their force sensitivity!"

"great ideas guys....another good developement meeting. Now who's up for a round of beers, andthen we can spend the rest of the day in 'closed alpha' playing JTL"

The dev team would never allow any kind of imbalance so that one group of people would "cut swaths" through crowds of people.

This still gives us no idea how much credit will be given to those who have completed some Holocrons but not unlocked. By the time of Publish 10 I will have finished two (2) Holocrons and do hope that I will get some credit for this. I'm not going to sit here and whine about how much I pay, how much time I don't have to play but I would like some credit for what has been accomplished. I didn't grind my professions just to get a Jedi, I did them because I wanted to and was planning on doing them anyways.

Here's what I suggest:

If you have completed, that is mastered the required profession, of only one (1) Holocron you should have the "Inner Glow" required to begin the FS quests.

If you have completed two (2) Holocrons you perhaps will have unlockedone tree of a FS profession of your choice. Maybe even be given the XP needed to fillit or get half-way up the tree. That's a bit much to be given the XP but the trees should at least be unlocked.

If you have completed three (3) Holocrons then maybe havetwo FS profession trees unlocked for you. And if you like the XP idea, give enough to fill one and a half of those trees.

If you have completed four (4) Holocros you might get something likefive FStrees unlocked and perhaps enough XP to fill at least two maybe all.

***

This seems proportional on a 5 profession trigger for gauranteed FS/Jedi in the old system. Just my suggestion. I've also heard of people getting their "silent" on like the second or third Holo. Not sure if this is entirely true or if they had Mastered any professions previous and maybe got lucky. But if it is the case where Holos could have gone silent on the 2nd or 3rd then this idea of mine is trash. Unless of course tjose people had already unlocked which is more than likely.

Thanks for listening,

Redi

Not a noob, been playing since Beta. Why only 10 posts? Because I cancelled my account for nearly a year! Tehy kept my characters too!

While I do not disagree that Hologrinders should be given some credit, this is a RPG game. Those of us who committed ourselves to the community and did not participate in the destructive hologrinding are once again being shafted becuase of the same Hologrinders.

The fact that MANY of the LEADERS of the communities and servers who STUCK BY the community to provide valuable services by perfecting their own professions seems utterly unfair.

I do hope you will consider the fact that many veterans who made the game better for others, supported the hologrinders with their services and actually built communities and content will also recieve some reward.

IAs an example, I have stuck by my Droid Engineer and Bio-Engineer professions for close to a year now, even though both are still wrought with unfixed bugs.

As a MDE the rewards I would expect never materialized in our revamp, even though we do have Skill Tapes available to make us better - they mean next to nothing since you never bothered to fix Experimentation to matter, nor did you give us any 'real' decay system. Yet the Comabt oriented Crafters get perks constantly, and rewards with Tapes that make them Uber.

As a MBE I assumed I would serve CHs, and maybe be rewarded with a way to Enhance my skills, yet we are the only profession WITHOUT any Skill Attachments.... I instead am forced to make Components for Chef and Tailors with the limited meat available in the game, competing against Doctors paying 100-200cpu for meat, limiting my ability to serve the customers I do have.

Now I see that because I did not abuse the flawed holo-grinding system, that hurt the game, I also will not be rewarded for my work and commitment. Instead I am handed more frustration and NOTHING for my work and contributions.

I plead with you to consider 'time-served' as a Master Crafter, when you finish off the FS credit system. We're not getting a Crafter Balance, I'm sure, becausewe aren't your precious combat professions, but we pay for the game too.

If being a committed Master and community member had no value in youe eyes, maybe you would at least consider a combat balance in the future.

For the record, I did not complete any Holo's, as I had no interest in Jedi, but now with the FS abilities, I would like to at least enjoy those. I'm sure I am not the only one who feels this way, yet many are not expressing this opinion due to the fact we know Crafters are second class citizens and accept that fact grudgingly.

I do aplaud the addition of Force Sensitivity, don't get me wrong. I just hope you consider that not all of us abused the system to Holo-grind - instead we kept the game going as it should be played.

Some sort of reward should be considered for 'Time Served'

In your summit coming up with the Correspondants, why don't you ask the Crafters their opinion of how we are treated....

Please SOE, leave us the choice of the character to become FS.

I'm a post-P9 unlocker and i don't want to destroy my main's background.

Isn't this a MMORPG game ? What kind of mmorpg would force its players to destroy their background to get new content ?

Don't make me grind another 4 months on another character.

So... what about us people who have lives? You know, the ones who only spend a couple of hours a day on SWG because we have work/school/etc? The way it seems now, considering how long it will take to become a Jedi with this new system, it would take me about 2 years of playing doing NOTHING but grinding XP each time I logon. I'm sorry, but that doesn't seem fun.

How about you change the conversion rates to something more manageable? I wouldn't mind playing a few hours a day, grinding and what not, then be able to become a Jedi by the time Christmas rolls around. That seems decent enough. You should forget the idea of "keeping Jedi rare", since continuity and anything like it were GONE a long time ago. So what if you see Jedi running around anywhere? It's a game, and you need to think of profits. Give the gamers what they want, give them Jedis.

I might just be leaving if a casual player can't become a Jedi within a reasonable amount of time. Not everyone has 8+ hours a day to spend grinding XP on SWG.

And no, I didn't and don't hologrind.
