Lemme just also add that I think the Droid Engineer/ Droid Handler idea is absurd. All you're serving to do is take another system that could breathe life into many people's play experience and limiting it by restricting one of the principle elements of the Star Wars universe to a specific group. This is not a good idea.

I don't know which one of you devs came up with this, but I find it sad that there wasn't someone at the meeting with the sense to slap you in the back of the head with a rolled up newspaper when it made it's way from your grey matter to your vocal cords.

Droids are NOT just combat. They're EVERYTHING. Anyone should be able to use them. They should all have different purposes.

Good point. I'd be furious if I tried to call Xerox, my cloning droid, and was informed that I could no longer use it as I wasn't a Droid Handler.

And it came to pass that a thousand DE's

Made a million MSE's

I would have tought TH would have learned his city debacle lesson. We told you what would happen with the caps, you didn't believe it, and it happened.

Restricting droids to a specific profession is stupid. Even that 2 IQ Nute Gunray could command a droid army. Does that mean combat droids will be restricted to merchant/politicians? That would be stupid right? AND take into account that to be balanced, a DH droid would have to be more powerful than a CH pet: pets don't require batteries.

By making pets usable by everyone, you get leeway to affect their power so it's not unbalancing. Let the Master CH get the unstoppable combat machines, and let people use many small droids.

Best way to deal with the tall guys is to give them incentives to lick the ground. And dont look down on me that way youre not THAT taller.

Could you drop a hint when we will see the post about the DROID INVASION, please?

Ill be doing it this week. I had to push it off until some of internal discussions were finished. The timetable was changed because the Droid Engineers were very clear in telling me they wanted Droid Engineering and Droid Handling as two seperate professions.

...Combat droids themselves have to stay level 10 or under for the general population otherwise everyone would rush out and get the better pets. That leaves a wide range of powerful combat droids that needs to be in the game, but to get those droids, players have to spend the time and energy to earn them.

So what we'll have is a Droid Engineer profession and a Droid Handling profession. All players will have access to combat droids up to level 10 and DH's will get a wide range of heavy combat droids to handle.

It sounds like you misunderstood the discussions that I saw! The closest to a "Droid Handling profession" that got favorable response was the idea of certification for higher level droids -- no implication of a separate class.

Artisan based classes as a group have a major problem with combat because they use their skill points up on their primary activities. Almost all of them need more combat ability than they can have just to be able to service harvesters etc. in dangerous areas. Many want enough combat capability to be able to participate in GCW, and to go hunting with their friends.

The droid certification was supposed to go to Artisans and elite artisan based classes. Merchant's in particular should be able to use combat droids as shown in the cannon (Episode 1 in particular). Giving a lvl 11-50 combat droid to an elite artisan in stages over reaching mastery would not be unbalancing, A master of an elite artisan classdoesn't have enough skill points left to overdrive that droid, but couldgroup with similar level combat friends to good effect, and not be a useless tag-along.

If you felt the certification had to be concentrated in one class, I would suggest merchant. Most Artisan based class masters have had Merchant skills in the past to place vendors. The certification would give them reason to keep the class, instead of dropping it once their vendors were placed to recycle the skill points into combat capabilities.

we've been playing without it for six months.

SOE can't give away details about unreleased Star Wars movies, so you'll have to wait until after Ep. 3 is released to get your Wookiee Armor. Sorry.

Clone Center: Sometimes I just get ported to the nearest clone center without any prompting. Maybe this is because of a que in keyboard commands, but its most annoying to go someplace you had no intention of going and getting massive wounds in the process. Why can't our designaged clone facility be the default place you get sent vs some strange place.

If there is any justice, Thunderheart will be severely reprimanded for this post.

He has done the complete opposite of his stated mission. What a shame for this game.

Bring back Holocron - at least he was HONEST.

TH, what ever spice you are taking, please, pass some around.

This is absolutely NOT what we said.

We said that *IF* you were going to force certifications on us, we wanted them in the DE tree.

*IF*.

We thought you were actually asking us a question - not that it was a foregone conclusion.

Very, very few people (if any) said they wanted a "DH" class.

I rarely say anything like this, but if you guys split the class up and ruin Droid Engineering I'll be clicking the cancel button on patch day.

I've been a loyal DE for seven months, and have always said the day I give up DE is the day I leave SWG. Looks like you guys are going to put me to the test.

Please, TH - humor us. Show us where we said that we were "very clear" in saying that we wanted a DH class - cause me, and every other DE it seems, missed it.

I seriously dont need to see the objects in my inventory spinning around in 3D. That MUST put a little demand on our systems and/or the servers... Everytime I open my inventory, or a new window for that matter, I get a huge slow down, untill all the items are displayed.

Could we get an option tho shut off 3D rotation in object screens?

The option has been available for a couple months.
