You are all saying you don't want a DH profession, but no one can say how a DH's profession would hurt the DE's. You get more than you have now, so it's better than what you have now, isn't it?

I don't think we're arguing that this hurts us, per se... At least that's not my argument. This is a solution they've cooked up on their own without AN OUNCE of actual DE community input and it's not a solution most of us would like. We have proposed alternative solutions to the combat droid question which are a hundred times better than the DH idea... and they're apparently fallen on deaf ears.

For them to claimthat SOE isimproving on two-way communication, this adds a whole new level to the word "Hypocritical".

Any word on something being done with the smuggler profession? This has the biggest potential for content and influence in the star wars galaxy than any other profession imo.

"Ability to move objects up and down"

"In progress"

Any chance on getting something a little more concrete time wise? Are we looking at getting this this week, next month, next year? I've been hearing this for a little while now and it really doesn't tell us anything.

I'd like to be able to reset quests, especially the ones that have been screwed up and in which people have gotten gated.

My personal complaint is with the Krayt Skull Quest. I got gated between the Thale missions on Corellia and the Borvo missions back in October (when the quest was totally fubar). I gave the briefcase to Borvo and he said, "Good". After that, he would only say, "Next". He gave me no gun to give to Huff and he gave me no missions.

Since the 'fixes' were implemented for the quest, Borvo no longer even knows me (he says to see his guards). His guards say they don't know what I'm up, but if I'm through on Corellia (which I am) to see Borvo. Thale tells me to get busy. Huff says to see his guards. Huff's guards say to go get his grandpappy's gun from 'some gun runner on Naboo'.

I'd like to be able to finish the quest. I'm pretty displeased thatpeople who have been paying for the development of this game for this game since launchare locked out of one of the most desirable pieces of non-useful loot (well, locked out if they don't want to pay half a million credits), but Johnny-Come-Lately, who just signed up yesterday can finish the whole thing in about an hour.

Either fix it or give us the option to reset it, please.

Thank you.

Players, particularly crafters and Jedi, needto be able to choose whether or not to appear on others' friends lists. Other games such as DAOC had this option. Currently we have a system that merely provides a feature which makes a player unsearchable, but not invisible to those who have added that player to friends list. The afk is not an effective proxy for invisibility.

There are many instances when a person would not want others to know he or she is online. For discussion on this issue, please note the following threads

I don't know if this has been asked, but...is Mandalorian armor in the game? I remember reading that the armor would be extremely rare (only a handfull of sets available) and it would be a quest only item (piece by piece). Just wondering because as of yet I've only heard that you can only see it on npc's.

I want to ask why they have hurt the faction pets so badly. What is the point to only having one pet out, and you can't trade it, nor can it attack anything but a faction enemy? What is the point in them?

The point, specifically, is use faction pets against faction targets in the GCW. It is meant as a faction perk. We had to put the additional restrictions on them to prevent a considerable amount of exploit and grief. The one pet limit prevents dramatic unfair advantages.

That's just it - it's not an unfair advantage.

A player should be able to control a small squad of troopers - otherwise we are all simply grunts and aren't really part of the Imperial military.

Faction pets are available to anyone - if they do the work. And since absolutely any profession can be any faction (with the notable exception of Jedi), meaning that faction pets are the true leveler. They are the one way, for instance, that a crafter can experience the monthly stories.

It's sad that faction troops and droids are considered "pets". Most people that hate "pets" hate creature pets - they don't object to droids and troops.

Those that do and call them "unfair advantages" are simply whining - it's not an unfair advantage when everyone has the option to get them without having to be a certain type of player/profession. You may have to make a factional choice, but that is not a lot to ask in a game that has "wars" in it's name.

I have no idea where you made up this idea that DEs "very clearly" want a Droid Handler profession.

For the majority of us that is the LAST thing we want.

This is so far off based it's frightening, or a blatant lie.

Thank you for this many precisions Thunderheart.
I would have a little question considering the NPC Factional bases. Will there be changes on them in the future ? Because for the moment they are weak (it can be cleared by one person) and people have no reasons to capture those base because it would remove a potential XP / Holocron farming spot (which is completly stupid because it wasn't designed for that)
Will the holocron drop be removed from those static zone ?
Will the defend of the base be buffed (like putting some turrets) ?

Thunderheart, I completely disagree with you about creating a Droid-Handler profession. Basically, all you would be doing is creating a duplicate of Creature-Handler. I feel that the time of SOE and your developers would be much better spent working on other issues instead of creating another profession when there is plenty enough to begin with.

The BH/Jedi mission tweaks are in progress.

Lag is lag. Sorry about that but when then servers are full, there will always be a drag no matter how much we tweak it though the programming team is always working on ways to improve that.

The PvP imbalances are being tweaked in the short term and redeveloped over the course of the next few months. Its going to take a bit, but the devs are re-working the system and its going to take some time.

Lemme address these since they are the things that are bothering me the most here. BH/Jedi missions being tweaked? Just put the **edit**ing name up, how difficult is that? Why can't a droid track a jedi NPC? What's thebig difference between a jedi NPC and a regular NPC? I've wanted to be a master bounty hunter since I heard about this game, and I've put up with it all t his time, even defending it as the broken profession it is, but if they aren't fixed in the January patch I'm joining the ranks of the holo grinders, and I hate the holo system, that's how bored I am with this game. There's nothing else for me to do at this point except hang out with the friends I have here, and I can do that elsewhere and save the $15 a month.

Lag is lag, eh? I was watching a guy play FF Online yesterday, and I don't know how many people they have on their servers at any given time, but God **edit**, there was literally no lag whatsoever. People sell things through their personal inventory, and when you run up to someone and look through it there is no lag. There is no lag going through shops or game menus. There is no lag when you run into groups of other players. You load through regions faster than the SWG bazaar takes to load at times. Not that I wanna play that cheesy game, but how can Square do it and one of the largest hardware/software companies in the world can't?

The only PvP imbalance the devsneed to worry about right noware the insane dodge mods. This has totally ruined PvP for me, I have little interest in it anymore. There's nothing worse than looking through your combat log and seeing -a'ss- dodges, -a'ss- dodges, -a'ss- dodges, you fire at -a'ss- but miss, -a'ss- dodges, your confusion shot misses -a'ss-, -a'ss- dodges, your stopping shot misses -a'ss-, -a'ss- dodges, -a'ss- dodges, -a'ss- dodges, your fast blast misses -a'ss-, -a'ss- dodges, -a'ss- dodges, you hit -a'ss- for 35 points of damage, -a'ss- dodges, you fire at -a'ss- but miss, -a'ss- dodges, you have been incappacitated by -a'ss-, you have been slain by -a'ss-, you have lost 45 imperial faction points, clone; the following items have decayed/been disabled, -a'ss- tells you "Ha ha you suck loser", you sigh...

This game has the most potential of any other MMO out there, and you (SOE) are blowing it. Please get your **edit** together.

Could you drop a hint when we will see the post about the DROID INVASION, please?

Ill be doing it this week. I had to push it off until some of internal discussions were finished. The timetable was changed because the Droid Engineers were very clear in telling me they wanted Droid Engineering and Droid Handling as two seperate professions.

Their argument makes a lot of sense too. A good balance is akin to Bio-Engineers and Creature Handlers; BE's make em and CH's use them. Its really two different playstyles. One is crafting and one is combat/exploration. Adding a class of combat droids to the game has to be similar. Combat droids themselves have to stay level 10 or under for the general population otherwise everyone would rush out and get the better pets. That leaves a wide range of powerful combat droids that needs to be in the game, but to get those droids, players have to spend the time and energy to earn them.

So what we'll have is a Droid Engineer profession and a Droid Handling profession. All players will have access to combat droids up to level 10 and DH's will get a wide range of heavy combat droids to handle.

TH,

I have a copy of a post by Drashk on the PC board from last week telling you specifically that 85% of the DEs would HATE this idea. How can you justify posting this? In this post you specifically stated that it was the DEVS that wanted to implement a DH class, so what's the deal? While I realize that your job primarily consists of trying to stay between us and the devs, you still have your credibility to think about. Please clear this up. I assure you that VERY FEW DEs actually want this and we have said so over and over. If you aren't listening to our Correspondent (and from the post mentioned above it appears that you aren't) then why do we need the correspondent system and more importantly, who are you listening to about DE issues?
