Can you PLEASE tell me that the sytem to become FS isn't finished? I mean, at this rate 95% of the population will be FS, and probably 75%+ Jedi. With the badge system, you can become FS in around a day and 1/2. Can you PLEASE tell us that the system isn't complete yet?

WTFH are you smoking?? No one has become FS yet at all with the new system. In fact no one even know's how to. Please stop reading the random post of people posting about rumors they heard and assume that it's fact. Either go test it yourself or read from people that actually did it themselves.

/agree totally plus correct me if I am wrong but Force Sencitive does != Jedi it still requires a number (22?) of additional steps befor you reach the Level of Jedi Padawan and Begin the Journey to Jedi Knight and the FRS

Wow another post on the merchant nerf!! lol

Seriously though,

I agree, that if you do not have Merchant skills, or at least Business 3 form the Artisan tree, then you shouldn't have a Vendor, or if you do, then it shoudl run down, not allowing you to add new items for sale on that Vendor. The comment about comparing it to rifle skills is valid. I was a Carbineer, I can now only shoot a CDEF Carbine, I am not complaining, that is as it should be.

Vendors as storage, this is only being done because there are precious few alternatives. Crafters need to keep a lot of resources and components at hand (only speaking as a DE here, but know AS and WS in the same boat). If you give us an alternative we will gladly take it.

I liek the suggestion of a Warehouse, be it personal, or as a Guild building, same as a Guild Hall or Town Hall, let it be placed in a Town, and then it can store a large quantity of Guild Items, say 10000. You could have a personal version, which uses 2 or 3 lots, and can only store say 1000 items. Maintenance may be high, but there is no risk of losing the items then.

Personally, I hate using Vendors as storage, mainly because once a month I would have to go through the whol rigmarole of re-listing all of the items, which can take a lot of time.

As for Vendor limits. Again, personally, I don't go over one page, so keep to under 100 items per Vendor. I need this many to list a large number of Droid Batteries, Repair Kits, and Customisation Kits, which sell well but have low return on the item. I see this as a service, so a customer can buy a droid at my Vendor, pick up a battery, repair kit and customisation kit and be on their way knowing they have all they need for the near future.

I only have Master Artisan, and Novice Merchant (Advertising 4 for the planetary map, and Barker droid abilities). This change, would mean I would have to drop ny other skills and go full on Merchant to get some decent Vendor limits. OK, this may not seem so bad, I wouldn;t mind normally, except I plan on going Shipwright, and with the rumour that Droids will be needed on ships I want to keep Master DE (after all, building droids is the reason I joined SWG), this would then mean dropping Merchant skills and losing Vendor storage. The same as if I took up another elite craft like Architect or Armoursmith, which I have considered.

I would love to know the revised proposed limits, I think limits can work, and coul,d be beneficial to the game as well as to your administation of the game, but I think they need some serious testing out.

Obviously, this is only on TC at the moment, and you are testing it, which is good. I have lots of faith in the TC players and their ability to test and give constructive feedback.

So while I am against the proposed limits at the moment, with some tweaking I think they could be a good thing, my only comment - give us an alternative for storage, WAREHOUSE!

Thanks for reading this complete waffle lol

How about some details for those of us who have unlocked between Pub 9 and Pub 10?

Where do we start in the Jedi life cycle?

Has been answered Jedi Padawan. This is after you unlock Both FS and Run though the Force City Trials. Basicly you become what you would have become if you unlocked the Day befor pub 9. Only on your main toon and not a Second toon.

I am not talking about compisation for Holo Grind I am talking people who have Unlocked there Force Slot after Pub 9. Some time not long befor Pub 9 was Launched on Live one of the Devs said (it may have even been in the update notes) that you can still unlock your FS slot using the Holo Grind and if you do your carator will beable to be converted to a Padawn. As far as people who have not unlocked go they will get "credit" what that is I don't think even the Devs Know Still.

I realy dont understand something about the vendor change:

What exaclty are they trying to fix with it ?

People abusing them to store items ? Fine, but there are other ways to fix that. that don't cripple those who are true merchant, selling items for other crafters.

The overall amount of items introduced into the game ? How will that fix it ?

People still will need items at the same rate as they do now (except those that leave due to this change, of course).

So the same amount of new items will enter the game. Nothing will change, only newcommers or casual player without endless amounts of creditswill have it alot harder due to higher prices, since less items can be purchrased at one time, most stock will consist of crated items, more work is needed to put them up for sale and keep them stocked, etc.

This change as suggested by the Dev team lacks in so many ways that it is hard to believe it realy was thought to work that way.

LOL, no you cannot get it that easy... Why`? simply because we don't even know for sure if it's only about badges or not... Collecting all those badges takes time and is can be quite annoying... with 53 badges all in all now and still 'surging' it's kind of frustrating to not know if getting those last few badges that I can get will help me or not... (I will try it though)

By getting merchant skills. People who invested their points to Merchant are not dupes. They could have fun from from game by taking combat skills as much as you are. But instead they are trying to help you by selling your weapons, your armor, your food to increase your stat, your pets, your pharmas, your clothes, your droids.

YES and YES! There will be no more thousands of empty vendors. People will find what they are looking for without searching tons of hours, Auction channel will be used. People will interact more with others. Because of unused vendor removal, server database will shrink, server-to-client interactions will be faster. This will even effect your fighting by lessening your lag in a degree. Because of some limitations, people will actually contact builders and request customised items. People will learn how to use their inventory and storage houses more efficiently and delete what they find unuseful.

I'll be seeing dear friends leave if the vendor limits are set as low as they destined right now since they do not in any way cover any crafting profession's needs. I'm good at adapting and have gotten overall "fixes", "patches" and "updates" made so far (and I'm even a commando), so my vote is all for those merchant limitations being set up to x2 or x3.

I agree totally with tuls. I look forward to the vendor changes. I hope they will liven up the ingame community. Just hope the devs are not scared off by all the whiners, many of us actually see the benefits from the changes and hope they will be applied.

FIRST
Noone would have ground out any professions in the first place if system
wasn't so fraggin hairbrained.

SECOND
No I wouldent pay off a gambler! But I wouldent let the dealer constently
stack the deck either.

They said origionally way back before launch the system was dynamic
and ADJUSTABLE. Ask anyone who ground out 25 to 30 professions. A couple
having that much bad luck, sure i can buy that. Hundreds having that much
bad luck, dozens of people actually having to master EVERY SINGLE PROFESSION.

If you seriously think the dealer wasn't stacking the deck, you got blinders on !!!!

Will we ever know for sure, will we ever have undisputable proof, not a chance.

Try "offers" to a merchants vendor. That or shared storage space, email and tips.

No. It wont make the game more enjoyable. To make the game more enjoyable up spawn rates of creatures on advanced planets (instead of empty planets), make loot drops worth more than sitting about in the borgle cave (yes you STILL get good CA/AAs there and it's still camped), fix pvp. Also the last time I checked sloppy databases and ping rates were unrelated. And all database querries that SoE's devs allow should be handled in "n" operations at worst. ... Wait, I guess you are right - eventually it may improve ping rates - as player quit, and get purged 6 months down the line - there will be few player structures which will reduce bandwidth ... and improve ping-good point! bravo.

Please dont get me wrong. My characters have their merchant skills lined up. And I'm cool even with proposed limits - because reduced supply means higher prices - which means I'll be FORCED to charge higher rates or my vendors will vanish in 2 weeks.

Would you care to test out a 400 year old sword to see if it's decayed to condition 0? All the prior testers have no comment. Perhaps a gun which was used in WW I and still fires with high accuracy upto 1km?

If that doesn't get you, then start reading current military specifications for combat equipment.

I believe that there will always be empty vendors because some are stocked with the hot selling items and will be sold out on a regular basis as fast as they are restocked. That said, I do like the idea of removing vendors that either have NEVER had anything on them (hologrind) or ones that are empty and have been for months (quit the game due to bugs, nerfs, boredom...whatever--insert own reason). and I don't buy the lessens lag either--the lag for me is always caused by abandoned vehicles/large pets in crowded areas (Theed/Coronet) usually during peak playing hours accompanied by many spammers attempting to sell items/services.

As for using houses more efficiently--I think that it is a trait of online MMORPG's that people horde items/resources/credits, and if you are keeping those 20-30 (insert your own numbers here)items because you might need it in the future for something, well those people may not even be using any vendors anyway--such as doctors/medics and even entertainers. My main is a tk/doc and uses no vendors at all--just several houses to store the huge variety of resources/components needed for all the items used in the profession.
