I don't understand why you're trying to hard to cater to the PvP folks to the detriment of everybody else. According to your own polls, only about 19% of the people are involved in PvP. Why are the other 81% of us forced to suffer decay on death? I just don't get it. I would once again like to remind you of your promise that you want the game to be fun. How is insured decay fun? You know we don't like it -- JustG said so in his thread defending you. So why does it continue to plague us? Just so Tailors will have people buying their stuff? Sorry, not good enough. Several of us have said we'd prefer corpse runs, and have even gone so far as to ask for the option to choose one over the other.

If this is the only option we have, I would suggest making the FP cost easily attainable....say the equivalent of 2 missions. So not more than 50 FP or so?

The glaring problem with PvP decay is on armor, as the Devs and everyone else already knows. Armor decays from use, making it also decay from death is pointless. If you were to eliminate armor decay from the death penalty, or remove regular decay from armor, there might be less anger and frustration from the players.

Sorry for being crass, and this isn't necessarily directed at you, bamagrad99, but really... everyone keeps complaining about the 1% decay but the fact is no matter WHAT they put in place as a "death sting" we're not going to like it. That's the POINT.

Sorry but you are sadly mistaken. When the whole idea of adding a "death sting" came up there were innumberable great ideas put forward that would been a great incentive to stay alive and all of them were infinitely better than this additional decay crap. At this point I think most of us will settle for just removing decay from pvp and I hardly think that constitues "god mode"

I also don't want to hear theirexuses for notknowing howto remove decay from pvp deaths. EQ has had pvp deaths that were free of the normal death penalty (xp loss) for the last four years.

At first, people asked for the removing of 1% decay on the Stormtrooper Armor during PvP deaths

It costs about 17 500 faction points to buy for a Human. It has about 10 parts.

At the very least, you should be able to insure your armor every day. How many missions PER DAYwould you have to do to pay for the insurance of your Stormtrooper Armor ? 2 missions ? That's about 100 faction points.

Then 100 Faction points /10 parts = 10 faction points to remove the 1% decay on each part of your Stormtrooper armor.

No more than that.

The Stormtrooper is NOT cheap at all (espacially if you're not human), it's not effective at all (people usually buy/wear it for roleplay), it's dangerous (you have to be overt), and usually you die alot when you have it (during city/HQ raids), so it decays very often.

Can't you see something wrong in that equation ?

Costy + Uneffective + Decays alot

If you don't want to give us a no-decay-if-insured-and-PvP-death on the Stormtrooper armor, then either lower the cost or make it a very effective armor.

I suspect TH knows it's ridiculous...

I know Im going to get some crazy answers, but Im straining to hear those that want to weigh in with good information.

Good Info: Missions suck. This would force people that want to pvp to run missions.

I like to add to my answer!

If you are fighting for either the Empire orthe Rebellion and part of their Military Forces wouldn't they Insure your Armor and weapon because you are fighting for their cause?

I think there should be no cost if your Overt and fighting for your factions.

I suppose to answer how much it should cost, the question that needs to be addressed is the purchasing being done with credits or faction points. I am going to assume faction points.

I think 50 to 150 fp should be acceptable. My reasoning is that anyone who has joined the faction should be able to get this amount of faction points rather quickly from doing 4 missions which is hardly time consuming but on the otherside it is not a give away to people. Also, Ibelieve having a large faction cost would becounterproductive to your cause. If you are going to charge them thousand or so faction points, it will keep people away from using this optionconsidering that when they die in pvp they will also be losing around 50 fp again.

I think the day-pass idea is good. It will reduce spontaneous group TEF PvPing. I think between 50 and 100 faction points is good. You can do one faction mission to earn that amount of points back.

Perhaps base the fee on the rank you hold in your faction. That could be worked either in a increasing or decreasing fashion depending on how you view the situation. Maybe it would cost you less points to buy this day-pass if you're a higher rank because you've earned the rank and have thus already spent numerous points on that. Or maybe it would cost you more because a) high ranking officers are costlier to lose in battle, and thus they have to pay a bigger fee, and b) it will provide a reason for everyone to NOT be a Colonel in their military. There should be some penalty for PvPing as a high rank. That's just my opinion though.

On a related note, there really needs to be check-boxes on the Insurance menu. What ever happened to that idea?

How the DEVs will see most of the posts.

5000 faction points per pass, and they only last one Star Wars day, not a real day. Also lets nerf the Imperials more, for fun, and give rebs more stuff.

My real opinion, take out decay for PvP.

O'k let me see if I can get this straight. First I have to buy insurance and then I buy this pass. O'k now I die once and I have no decay. Now do I have to purchase insurance again for this pass to work, or is the insurance a one time deal. Can we have a clarification on this?

If it is a one time deal then 25-100 fpts is reasonable. If its I have to purchase insurance anew after every death, well you can keep the old system and I would encourage you to stop wasting your time with this issue not to mention the manpower.

I think though fairly clearly your player base has told you that we want a system in which there is 0 Decay in PvP period. Now why you can't attach a flag that checks if the db was done by a player or not I really don't know. Conversely if you don't want to use a flag remember that players lose faction when db'd by other players. Why not then simply embed this code with the code that subtracts faction?

I have to Second this!! Why the favoritism for PVP. Many of us do not PVP and do not ever want to PVP. In this time period for every combatant there had to be Millions of people living interesting and fulfilling lives in a non combatant role. Is this not a valid Play style all of a sudden? Is the vision you have of this game just non stop running battles between Imp and Reb? I am very frustrated with this apparent force feeding of GCW and PVP for a huge segment of the population that wants nothing to do with that.

I respectfully ask for a responce to this. Seriously, Please respond, Please!!!!!
