i just cant understand why you think pulling a gun = rancor???? that thinks, attacks and does its own thing...but look...they lowerd the time frame...ok?
***a gun = creature(rancors actually suck btw), because as a CH a creature is our main weapon, we use them for protection and battle just like you use your pike or lance or whatever else you pikeman use. if they put a timer on how fast you can equip your weapon I guarantee you'd be the first to scream for the waaambulance. If these five pages dont apply to you, just move along no one is forcing you to read them
.
happy...probly not...here come more WHY? WHY? blah....
The reduction in timer is a GREAT step in the right direction. but notice one thing they still havent told us why.
IMPORTANT:
make it so that when you do a CALL you get a message on screen confirming call.
It would be very annoying if you have to wait 30 seconds to see if your call was a success
Castigula, i like how you keep saying that a character with a gun equels a character with a pet especialy when its all wrong and very narrow sided.
You would acctuly see things like:
Commando with flamethrower = CH with pet and a gun. You see the person with the pet, could be armed with a weapon almost as powerful but has a little more of an advantage of a pet being tossed on the enemy. All i keep seeing from you is that the CH is defenceless with out his/her pet. You really need to realize that you need to keep your pet out at all times period, if you dont make sure you have a good gun to defend yourself like everyone else. You really are a poor CH if you really dont know when to have your pets out.
So dont go spouting off that the devs have to tell you WHY, when you cant answer my questing why you cant keep your pet out. To play the game, You have to realize that You have to be one step ahead of the other player. And it dont matter if you PVP or not. You chose to leave Your self open, you have to deal with the consaquences.
So ether deal with the timer, or just chose a different profession that dont require a pet.
I like that they lowered the timer, and that it will be accepted by the majority here, but i think that the devs know that the timer is still needed and they trully dont need to tell us why. Later when they solve there problem that is keeping the timer in, we will enjoy a no timer limit. But that will be later down the road.
And another thing Castigula, you keep saying that you hate it when someone switches guns to fight to change the battle, but you also say that you dont PVP. So why are you complaining about the guy with a quick change to a flamethrower when you dont PVP. And BTW you are right that a CH pet is there weapon, but did you know that most ppl with guns in the game dont have there guns stored in there inventory. They mostly carry them at all times just incase their attacked by a mob.
Just admit you dont want the timer period. You just want to pull out a pet a any time you feel.
And i know you have been ignoring my posts, because you know im right.
Just deal with the timer. Keep your pet(s) out at all times and you will be fine. Ifyour petauto stores, do a bug report.

You take *so* much on faith. How long have you been playing SWG? Most of us know better than to have blind faith that everything is going to turn out great in the end.
Even those of us who expect it *will* turn out great in the end don't all plan to stick around for that to happen.
Matsubaa, its not that take the devs on so much blind faith im my words, I just put words of wishfullness that sound better than demands on the hope of the devs listening. And if they listen then they might get things done faster. They get things done faster, we get more things to play with.
The devs did say it themselves, more thought out and non demanding posts do get the devs attention.
So lets take castigula's question on why do they have the 15 min timer. Castigula demanded an answer after a statment. The devs will not answer a demand, but they will answer a question if asked nicely.
Now if Castigula asked nicely "Devs, why do we still have a timer in place even after the ch balance?", and then he should of pointed things out in a non emotional tone(emotion gets to much in the way and tends to be overlooked).
Ask your self this, would you answer someone that is in your face demanding an answer? I wouldnt.
But for here we where disscussing the affects of the timer for the devs. Most of us gave our answer to there questions and we got some answers back(even though the answers we got where not what we were hoping to hear, but it was an answer). We did get a timer change, and we will have to wait on if the devs will change it more.
So as i wrap this up, I hope the devs hear our coments and disscuse our question on why the timer is still needed(i still think its still in place for scouts to feel useful in some way). If they deside to change it if the near or far future, at lease we still have the chance of it happening.

If you'd been around long enough, you know the Devs don't answer requests from Creature Handlers.
We're expected to feel all warm and fuzzy when they decide to take us down 8 notches. They tell us they want to knock us down 10, we "debate" until they agree to "only" take us down 8 notches and in the end, we've lost no matter how you look at it.
We've made reasonable requests. We've made factual arguments, we've debated and discussed and requested and asked and begged and pleaded. It doesn't matter how we ask, the same answer comes of it and usually not from the Devs themselves. They let someone such as yourself be their self appointed mouthpiece to tell us "We do whatever we damn well please and we don't have to explain ourselves to anybody, especially not players."
I've submitted 3 bug reports just in this evening's play. Nothing will ever be acknowledged and I'll be luck if anything gets done at all. This is how the game is played when you're a CH.
But how did we lose, the only way we would lose is if they desided to not let us call out pets/veacals out in the feild. What we won is the ability to call out a pet when we want without a tent/city/home.
To let you know, i have been in these forums way befor the game even launched, I was in beta,I have played the game since the begining, and I have had my questions answered by the devs.
And yes we have made our requests/questions/demands/staments/debates/and more, but its up to the devs on if they want to answer or that you accept what they have answered with. You dont have to like it, but that is your choice. And the last time i looked, this is a free country and the devs have a right to answer the way they seem fit to answer us. Its their game and we are here by choice. If you dont like it then you can leave, but that is a choice you can make.
There are many thing to consider in this game and should not be taken likely, and the devs know this.I also realize that the devs are a small group of ppl that get things done IN TIME, and if their here in the forums all the time, they wont get things done. I also submit bug reports all the time, and even know that the devs will not respond back and dont expect them to. I have also played many other online games from beta stage all the way to launch and beyond. There is many things that you have to realize is that online games are not perfect, they take time to tweek and fix, you have to be cool about the time it takes for things to be fixed, and know that things change even if you dont like them or not (i liked playing a scout in the game DAOC befor they nerfed them badly after launch, and now after over a year of waiting they have given some power back to them).
But their is also things that i bring to the game that many dont. I look beyond the frilly looks and nice interface. I look more at what is all offered in the game and i break it down. I really look at what is offered and denied and i try to find ways around what many just complain about(i dont use cheats/hacks or exploits because i think it ruins good game play). Ohi forget to say that i also worked for a video game outlet at one time (and to show my age, my first game system was pong), and i know all the little secrets to playing a game to its fullest.
But then again, I will say that the devs will keep looking at this little debate when the patch goes live. When its in live, then they will get a better view on if the timer really is an issue. Or the devs could talk to the scout team lead for an alternative/new thing for scout to make them more usefull, but again this is for a different thread. And no matter how long we debate here and complain about why the devs dont answer us, we could be surprised when ppl that dont come to the forums callout after the patch goes live. Things might change or they might not, but this is something we might not see untill the patch goes live. And if ppl yell enough, then things might change.
But there is another thing to look at, we already know that the timer might still be in place to make scout feel more usefull. So if we could go to the scout forum and come up with better things the scout could have that is more useful than camps, then mayby the timerwill go away then. But then, who would think of that?

**your absolutly right, a chc with a pet is no where near a chc with a gun, a chc with a gun is more powerful than a chc with a pet.

***OK let me make myslef clear, I ALWAYS TRY TO HAVE MY PET OUT, BUT WTH AUTOSTORING AND SERVER BOUNDRIES/AND PETS GETTING STUCK IN ROCKS AND AROUND BUILDINGS, IT VERY VERY FRUSTRATING TO KEEP YOUR PET OUT. did you get me this time?
So dont go spouting off that the devs have to tell you WHY, when you cant answer my questing why you cant keep your pet out. ***the point is there is no reason for a timer. rules have been in place that make the timer a moot rule. It is not needed.
I like that they lowered the timer, and that it will be accepted by the majority here, but i think that the devs know that the timer is still needed and they trully dont need to tell us why. ***they lowered the timer because of the huge out cry of why. they cant tell us, because they really dont know why they put in in the first place. There are 2 people in this world, the ones that accept everything that is given to them, and the ones that question those things. I question, and I will kepp questioning till I get an answer.

2-most people carry their guns out because THEIR WEAPOIN DOESNT AUTOSTORE, THEIR WEAPON DOESN'T GET STUCK IN A SERVER BOUNDARY, THEIR WEAPON DOESNT RUN OFF IN THE OTHER DIRECTION. clear enough?
Just admit you dont want the timer period. You just want to pull out a pet a any time you feel.
***Yes I have said that all along, no timer!! as a ch now;
1 you can not call a pet if you are aggroed
2 you can not store a pet till after 60 secs after combat
3 you can not call or store a pet while in combat.
We are perfectly balanced now, we do not need a timer, the checks are in place to prevent griefing/exploits.
And i know you have been ignoring my posts, because you know im right.
***No not ignoring you had the day off yesterday, today im back on/off. btw you are arguing for the timer ...why? You admit there is no reason for it what so ever.
Just deal with the timer. Keep your pet(s) out at all times and you will be fine. Ifyour petauto stores, do a bug report.
