TH-

When do we get some clarification about the comment that was made regarding your main being FS instead of a second character slot? You do realize the community (both current jedi and aspiring) is boiling over and frothing at the mouth right?

You do realize that everyone is spastic that Arjun had the whole system explained to him 2 weeks ago, yet you've left the community in the dark right?

And again, we're still waiting for some kind of reassurance to you that Arjun's report regarding the clone camping exploit that got pushed to live DESPITE it being reported pre patch was eaten by Haden's dog or something.

Respectfully and STILL waiting for a response,

-C-

Dev's, I know you've got lots already planned out. I just have to say 1 thing...

Please reward the players in 20+ with something... A FSCS or only having to do 1 quest would be nice.

I don't have the time to read through the huge number of posts with all their great ideas (wish I did because the ones I skimmed are great), but I wanted to emphasize a concept I saw mentioned in a couple of the posts...

I really like the idea that amongst the challenges and quests to become a Jedi, the one travelling the path would need to draw on the talents of the other professions to achieve their goals. This is something that would require finding and interacting with other players, unless the player intended to learn the relevant skills each time they're required in various combinations. Over the course of their journey they would need the help of smugglers, dancers, droid engineers, etc. providing exposure to each facet of the game/skill system.

This adds a lot of great game play involvement, encourages multiplayer interaction, as well as fitting with the notion that a Jedi is a well rounded individualwith exposure to all manner of skills, even if the player doesn't specifically master them for the toon in question.

In an ideal world, of course, the challenges would allow for different choices of other professions to achieve a solution; so that one player might hire a talented smuggler to achieve the goal, while another might solve the same hurdle by employing a Teras Kasi Master, while yet another might approach it with the aid of a Droid Engineer (or Commander or whatever). Still, over the course of the series of quests, most every profession would be needed to some degree.

Hey TH in the meantime while you guys attempt to do whatever it is you are doing to the FSCS system can we get some attention towards the gamebreaking bugs in our class currently. As it stands right now we can suffer from clone camping and griefing galore. But talking with the musicians and image designers about things that are months away for them appear more important than those of us that can suffer extreme grief in the present time.

As well can you go ahead and lock this thread. It appears pretty pointless at the moment. If you read the last correspondant post in the Jedi forums the new system was already explained to Arjun 2 WEEKS ago. Why have a discussion if things are already in the works. Clue us in as to what this new system is so we can really discuss what is going on. Lets not have another last minute heart attack like we did with the previous crafting changes.

I thought originally we were supposed to grind out professions over two years? Some are grinding slow using the current method and enjoying the classes for a brief time. Brief being a day, a week or a month. Most professional grinders dump them asap and start the next class.Non-speed grindersare going to have the system changed midstream out from under them. Has any thought been put into place as to how current holo-grinders are going to be rewarded if at all? If the currentcompleted professioncompletedis going to be thrown out with the bath water, I will more than likely cancel that being the last straw.

With that being said I would love a quest system for a NEW character in place. If I loose a force sensative slot and am forced to use my current character I will also probably cancel my subscription. A quest system from the beginning is what should have been in place. Little late now to shaft us. But nothing you all decide surprises me any longer.

like many have said already, the quest should take much longer then a day...maybe even a month and it should be hard say a master random professions in a certain amount of time WITHOUT macros. i think that would show whos truly deserving of a jedi and/or jedi xp
i perrsonally feel that no one should be rewarded for mindlessly grinding to jedi, but thats a topic for a different thread.

Additional Concept idea:

Privacy.

Many playersI know keep a 'friends list' of player jedi, and some even harass them, resulting in addignore- however, the BH/players still know the Jedi players are 'on' without having to use the normal ingame means of terminals etc. This is not correct. A jedi is to live privately, and that means the ingame system should not allow others to include a Jedi on their friends list without consent.

Technically, this should be an option open to all players. I may or may not want some players to know my Imperial army is currently online when I decide to raid their base. Players should have the option to be 'private' which enforces a new system where they can 'offer' friendship to other players to add to their private friends list.

Heck, some crafters I know will not log on their crafter char due to a barrage of /tells and requests.

Please review a method to allowing players to restrict who can add them to their friends lists OR simpler to not show up on anyones friends lists (playing truly 'covert') OR showing up only on private 'consented' friends lists. A toggle switch in the options would be ideal.

Thanks,

Ren

Look, the bottom line is this.

The DEV team has proven itself unable to come up with a system that will not be able to be exploited, and be balanced.

I am sorry but it is the truth.

Holocron grinding may be a problem to many, but it also makes people try things that they wouldn't normally try or everyone would be having the exact same template as everyone else with the same sets of skills. (Not that it does not happen already).

Any quest system will immediately be abused with newb #1 rounding up 10 leet template of the month buddies and blowing through the quests in a day, just standing back while everyone else does the work and then it is the next persons turn.

The DEV team has already thrown the game into chaos with half assed quotes and information, and they keep doing it.

And now I hear that it will not open a new slot but change your current character....What if I WANT a different char to be a jedi?

What about the people who already had that choice made for them?

There is no Jedi that can finance their training without a second toon to make money....so I guess that is the point?

Make people have to use a second account?

I myself am on my last Holocron, what about us?

Once you make the step with the Jedi system there is no return, and that is what has to be understood.

And I myself have no faith whatso ever in the dev team making a system that can not be abused for something as important as this.

It needs to be left alone.

Ok. How about a jedi quest mission terminal. It would calculate your skill level and give quests based on your combat/non combat skills. You go and do the mission, and get points like faction points. One way. Another way is to have your own personal contact. Sending you emails where to meet him/her. (an npc personal contact.) You must do quests for that contact as well. For instance. You log on and get an e mail stating you are to meet asbib croson in kadarra for your series of quests. It makes it more personal.

Nicely said. Jedi being added to the friends list by anyone is something that irks me too. If a BH wants to know if I'm online on my Jedi they should check the terminals to see if there's a mission for me, and grab one if there is (which will be extremely uber rare/never =p ) and launch thier droids.

'course that doesn't help the old 'send a tell and see if they're online' way of checking.. cause if the tell goes through they're online.

TH, I've been thinking about this new concept A LOT since the chat last night.

And the more I think about it, the more I like it any many ways.

Removing the FS slot (something you stated would happen a week or so ago but I wasn't sure if I was reading it right) does make a lot of sense in terms of Star Wars (something that you had said weeks ago).

My guess is that this is how it will work:

Same 250 skill points as now.

To become a Jedi, you need to surrender normal skills and replace them with Jedi ones.

Regular skills will never decay.

Jedi skills will if you die enough times.

Master Jedi proably takes up all 250 skill points.

So everyone will have a real dilemma on their hands.

To become a Jedi will be a great sacrifice and a risk, much more so than it is now.

People will face a much tougher decision, since they only have one character to play with.

And this is a character that people already know, which means they will have to be very careful about what they reveal.

EVERYONE is force sensitive to a certain extent.

Yoda said the force was in all things

This new system makes perfect sense, and is much better than the old one

It gives me goosebumps thinking about it, and I don't even know if I want to follow the path yet.

I just mean that it is terrific on a conceptual level.

I'm sorry I gave the devs a hard time about changing the system.

I was a bit recalcitrent anc calcifide.

I was thinking too narrowly about what was going to happen, and would have never guessed at this.

You guys really are willing to go out on a limb to make this game better, and are smarter than so many give you credit for.
