ok i think that the path of a jedi should obviously not be an easy path, there should be quests set by both sides rebs and imps and this will determain wich side of the force you will end up on dark or light, sith or jedi, although oncethey have reached apprentice rankplayers should have factions dark and light and depending on the way they choose to do there quests and who they choose to kill ornot to kill on these quests willeffectwith by these faction points,so an apprentice sith may want to be a dark sith master but in actual fact has the heart of a jedi knight and vice virsa...

threw the quests you should well interact with all the greats darth, luke, yoda, han, jabba i mean the whole kittenkaboodal.but during the quests the cast who you meet shold not be npc's i repeat should not be npc's,they should be actuall players i mean people who work for lucas art or sony online,(think about that for a second and if ya canadian think aboot that for a second).

ok now i just want to know so some one hit me back on this,,,what happens when darth and the empror die and the empire is overthrown..?? will the jedi concil be restored?? will all the jedi knights get to be the athority??

if this happens wich it must because we all no what does happen...it should be up to a player unbalance the force again and rise to the stature or vader,,let the be a new imp order...................................................................................................................................................................................

somone reply just to let me no that its been read thanx stabberelie (corbantis)

i dont htink you need to wory about the empire being overthrown. the first death star was just destroyed.
luke hasnt shouldnt of met yoda yet, im not sure, but even if he has its like another 10-15 years before rotj. so i think we have some time before worrying about that

I just posted my ideas on the Scylla Boards, I thought I'd share them here, too...due to the relevance of the topic. Please feel free to analyze/comment/flame at will...

"I was reading "Power of the Jedi" from the SWRPG, available from Wizards of the Coast for inspiration last night. Bear in mind that aside from a select few Light Side Jedi (Kenobi, Yoda, C'baoth, and others that have been mentioned in comics), the order has been completely wiped out. The remnants have gone into hiding, and do not reveal themselves to anyone for fear of being killed off completely.

The Jedi are extremely selective when choosing people to train. One must exhibit definite characteristics, such as Jedi Reflexes, self-control, and a high degree of intelligence. And, must try to prove themselves worthy of receiving the near-lost disciplines.

Gamewise, the quest has to be different for each player. They must take the quests alone, and cannot receive help from others.

I'd say the first part of changing the FSCS quest would be to actually locate a living Jedi. This has to be the hardest part, and a very long epic quest. One could do a number of quests for a group, or a specific NPC, like a Theme Park. At any given point, the NPC could drop a hint or two about a known living Jedi, and his whereabouts, during conversations with the player. It's up to the player to pick up on this hint, and then actually go out, and look for this Jedi.

Then, we switch to a "Where in the world is Carmen Santiago" mode, where the Jedi NPC continually evades the player, but drops hints along the way. This could be an epic quest within itself. The Jedi NPC becomes increasingly aware that he is being sought out, and begins leaving hints about his true whereabouts for the player to find. This is a huge part of the puzzle, and could involve months of gameplay.

Finally, when one actually meets this Jedi (which could be in itself a separate loading dungeon like the Corellian Corvette, in order to ensure there are no people that "skip" the phases), the Jedi could say something like "I sense the Force within you..." and then give the would-be Jedi a series of tests to prove that he/she does in fact exhibit Jedi Characteristics (like those mentioned above) through a series of puzzles, problems, and (possibly) combat and/or crafting situations, and proves their worthiness to be trained, "Jedi Trials" if you will.

Then a supreme final test, much like Luke Skywalker in the Cave on Degobah in ESB. If all tests are victorious, then the FSCS is unlocked. If not, then the player must start the "Jedi Trials" all over again.

As far as the Dark Side is concerned, in the EU, the Emperor has his inquisitors who are all force sensitive, like High Inquisitor Tremayne, and have Jedi Powers, and hunt down known remnants of the Jedi order, and all other Force Sensitive beings. There are other Dark FS characters, such as Mara Jade, as well. I was saddened to see that this element of the EU wasn't included in SWG. I am hoping that this will eventually get introduced down the road, as well as the FSCS quests."

not that real going on this thread, but as i find for me, that would be a real great idea on jedi changes:

I cant really understand, in SW thinking manner, why Jedis have to be the richest of the richest??? Most of them need to buy every week crystals so they can make a new Lightsaber. I dont think that Luke Skywalker or Obiwan stood every week in Coronet crying out "buying Crystals". What would happen if you would change crystal loots so, that a) only Jedis can loot Crystals, Crystals are getting non-drop (like quest holos), and drop rate of crystals is increased?? i guess that would a) stop those 10ppl crystal hunting groups that are only for getting rich in a fast way. Stop those AFK crystal dropers that are making worth a milion a night without sitting for their PC and would also give the Jedi a more Jedi-like way of gameplaying, they have then more to go hunting in dangerous areas and not standing on starports to buy some crystals with money their normal character is making as a resource merchant...

Perhaps the holocrons could remain part of the game and to start on one's quest towards force sensitivity and eventually becoming a jedi, a person must finda holocron(remanining consistent with what happened previously in the game) but instead of it naming a profession to be mastered, when used the holocron directs the individual to a specific place on a specific planet, where that persons quest will be revealed by the 'contact' at that waypoint.

This way, bounty hunters and others can't camp near the 'jedi mission terminals' so they can kill the aspiring jedis. The points where the individuals find the ones who give the missions would be individual and random. To everyone but the person whose mission it is, these NPCs would just look like white dots on the radar and have no way to converse with anyone except the one person brought there by their holocron.

That's all I got.

The whole issue of Jedi trainers giving out missions and them being static is great but for the problem of staying with the story line Jedi in this Era are near extenction, the few that are left are in hiding.... in fear of Lord Vader, so if static npc trainers start apearing all over the place ... poof there goes the star wars story line, Trainers and quest givers should be random spawns that move about No one ever said the path to become a jedi would be simple.... so if a bounty hunter finds a master and is able to solo the master more power to him.... its his job to kill jedi's,

so if ya all want the game to matian the traditional stroy lines of starwars then you cant have a planet with a jedi base where jedis are open to the pubic.... just my thoughts.

I like the idea of quests and such to become a jedi, but i dont believe that factions or badges shouldnt play a roll in it. I also believe that people should be able to access these new npcs who could hand out these quests, BUT have actual people playing in the npc spot that i dont know, could some how watch based on your descions if they want you as there apprentice. Like make it so that helping people and doing nice things could allow the npc to pick you for light side jedi. While have it where if you slay countless innocents and whipe the world of hermits (exageration) and do evil things have the npc "sense" that you are evil and pick you. Also for this new quest thing, make it that everyone is able to achieve jedi and that some how still be able to keep jedi population low. I think you should also consider making other proffesions more valuable, like some how make it if there are less engineers and such that something really bad could happen. So that everyone wouldnt be jedi. Also make the missions fair as in dont make them impossible unless your fully loaded with composite armor, buffs, master of all proffesions and have to be godly to achieve it. Also another cool aspect would be if you could choose what kind of jedi you would be in a way. Not exactly like KOTOR but have it where a certain jedi could be more talented in a certain area, where focus could either be force powers, lightsaber and that sort of thing. All i know is that i hope its and efficent way of doing things, and i hope that my 2 cents have given you some ideas. Thanks for reading.

jedi are in HIDING but most of us know one or two in game and if we talk to a BH a few morei would like to see a jedi crafted document that will tell the hopefull (but not useableby a jedi) a hint on where and what to do next (the document is character specific and is nontradeable once the char that recieved it from the jedi has read it) the hint could involve crafting combat exploration harvestingetc etc similar to the holo grind now with out the 'grind' and this will keep the 'RUSH' (diablo diablo2 diablo LOD) the missions MUST BE SOLOED and there for SOLOABLE by non combat stackers(scout artisan and combat skills are all needed)

i would like the hints and quests take you to new and unusual locations (not nessisarily POI's but along the same lines)

somewhere i read about the SEVEN different styles of jedi i would like to see the seven different styles of jedi in the game instead of just jedi, elite jedi, and elite elite jedi i think that this would give a more 'starwars' feel to the game apply the 250 SP limit but has the jedi initiate then 2-4styles at the knight level and all 7 forms at the master jedi level but you can only master ONE STYLE with no left over points for stacking and make the MASTER TITLE grant a higher percentage boost then 20 making it worth mastering just one form rather then dabbling in 2 or 3 yoda, darth vader, maul, obi wan, the emporer all had different masteries and lead to thier uniqueness not all jedi havethe same weaknessesand strengths having just one template takes away the feelof starwars from the game (unless you consider the clonewars but then not every one is a lesser boba fett)

you have done a good job with us clamoring for accelerated release and dont nerf this dont nerf that being a master jedi is "winning" (if you can call any end result winning in a rpg) the game but to master ALL 7 forms now that would be awesome

jedi were monks not millionaresthey shouldnt rely on a secondary character to make enough money to support the jedi jedi only drops like crystals should only drop for jedi and at a fairly regular basis or maybe harvestable from certain creatures or even minable with jedi crafted survey devices you talk about the economy and wonder how to get it back under control this may help (some jedi only use the jedi for PvP and to support the habit have thier prime sell resources or loot so they can afford to PvP if the availability of jedi items is limited to JEDI that tier of the economy will stabalize at a reasonable level and not bleed over to the rest of the economy

JEDI ROBES they all wore them in combat suggesting that they were better then the mythical mandalorian armour for the purpose of jedi combat not that the robes imparted an armour rateing but for game purposes they should maybe as much as ar2 but deffinitely ar1 with an enhanced dodge/counterattack/block rating im tired of seeing jedi run around in composite armour especially since the only jedi that wore armour was darth vader and it was his life support system so performed a dual role unlike composite armour that ONLY gives a nonstarwars feel and ar1 again the robes should use either common material or JEDI only loot/harvested/mined keeping the jedi economy seperate from the common market remember they are few and far between yoda was on dagobah esentially the only inhabitant obiwan was a hermit in the desert of tat they shouldnt have interact with everyone traveling through a starport in hopes of finding much needed and scarce loot

the holo grind was a major deterent for jedi hopefulls im just wrried that the new quest system will make the jedi as common as in episode onehundreds thousands per server i have liked the scarceness of jedi meeting one is a pleasure BECAUSE they are scarce (though quite frequently the pleasure turns to disgust because of the jedis attitude)

Number One, I'd like to start by saying i'm not a big fan of the "jedi revamp" Thoes of us who have worked extreamly hard to unlock out slots to no prevail feel as though we are on a time line. I'm not so convinced that our hard work will be compinsated in the new system, and I for one don't think we should have to start back from ground zero.

Having said that, I would whole hartly support the new system as a noob comming in, mastering random profession in hopes of unlocking your slot is not exactly the idea i had in mind for jedi. So her are my ideas....

Whole Quest ideas: There should be three basic "quests" for jedi ( Peace keeping, Seach and Detain, Jedi Lore) As peace keepers and guardians of the old rebublic there roles as neggoaitors as well as warriors were just important. These quests should focus on these points. Before i go into detail about the indunidual quests, i'd like to point out that I think jedi should be based on a point system. Every action in game renders a certian amount of "points" How you perform on quests determins the number of points obtained and also weather these were dark or light points. (No do overs, If you fail to complete a quest you failed your mission) For example, being sent on a peace keeping mission where you handle a hostile local poorly and saber him would resault in a failed quest and dark points. Eventually determining you status as light or dark jedi.

Peace Keeping Missions:
The basic idea of a peace keeping mission will be to recive a mission from a npc trainer, being that Jedi are scarce in this time i think each jedi should have one npc Master. Two opposing factions are on the brink of all out war. Your job will be to intervein as a peace keeper and talk with the clan leaders induvidualy. You'll need to reaserch the history of the two factions and what led them to be at odds with eachother in the first place. Finaly see if there is a peaceful ending before the clams rip them selfs apart with war.

Search and Detain:
In this role the jedi gets to play bounty hunter as he searches the galaxy for some one. the basic jist of this type of role would go something like this... A smuggler has been accused of stealing and auctioning vital information to the survival of the rebublic to the highest bidder. Highly sensitive information to the where abouts of serveral highly reguarded bank rollers for the rebellion. Two criminal organisations are competeing with each other for the highest bid. The Hutts and the Black Sun. After all having this information will put that crime lord back in favorable stance with the Empire. Knowing how sensitive this information is the smuggler has hired body doubles and gone into hiding. Your job will be to search this smuggler out, detain him and conficiate any sensitive material he has on his person. After you have the information you are free to either destroy the material to complete the quest, continue the auction to the highest bidder for some quick cash or go directly to the empire with it. You destiney lies in your hands......

Jedi Lore:
This mission type will be a very long and extended mission, here you retrace your ancestry. As you find diffrent relics and family heirloms that help explain your connection to the force. your point total (as discused before) will play a role on which side of the force your heritige leans towards more. This quest will focus mostly on discoverying what a jedi is and how to master the force. An example of this multi part mission would be like this...... Your a new jedi initate, your first mission learn to make your lightsaber. You must first reaserch the lightsaber and materials used. Eventually by retracting the steps in a old holocron you manage to craft your first lightsaber after man failed attempts. From which you can learn the schematic. You can see how this will carry over into the 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th generation lightsabers. Here we can also start to learn fighting styles and techniques.

Luke should be the jedi trainer for light side stuff. just make him inacessable to anyone but jedi. Another idea on the trainers is that they should be place in different spots out in the middle of nowhere and make it random for each person. Almost like a presence instead of an accual NPC. Here is an idea! You get a waypoint to a trainers, when you get there it is the blue siluet of someone, like from Return of the Jedi. When you talk to him/her, they can tell you some story about their life, then give you the mission. After you have the mission they will disappear. Giveing them no real static place. As for what the mission should be. As i read before the first few missions should be to obtain what is needed to create a lightsaber, that is unless you already have the stuff. Maybe after you get to jedi, or dark jedi is when you go see luke for jedi training, or Vader for dark jedi training. Should be interesting. Good luck with creating this system and with the space expansion.

ok personally.. iwanted this game so i could run around with a lightsaber and be all cool (dont we all) then i heard i had to either spend months finding holocrons and grinding or spend lots and lots of money and buy not one but like 5.. then i heard the jedi proffession was all weak and puny and tka people are stronger than them. So i didnt bother but one day i would like to unlock my force sensitive slot.. because thats why i wanted this game.. and i heard that you might make the quest missions be like.. "ok you go get me this item that only spawns once every2 months"... and personally thats like crap so plz plz plz dont do that cuz that will make it based on luck.. ie who gets it first.. and im not gonna spend £40 on a game and £10 a month playing it for luck.. at least with the profession way ure at least guaranteed to get it in the end by doing all the professions.. which ide like to do anyways..

So i think you should have 2 options.. 1.. being the whole quest things without the "go get me an item that spawns every 2 months" and i think you should leave an option.. like if you do all the professions.. all of them.. that u unlock it that way too.. cuz i dont wanna have to spend like 5 years worth of subscription on this game and not get jedi because im "unlucky" doing all the proffesions isnt easy.. and ide hate to do architecht and weaponsmith and droid engineer.. but if i had to do it to unlock it and i was dedicated enough ide do it.. even tho its so awful and might take me ages.. i wanna unlock it so bad..
