Feedback Request:
- If you finished 32 professions before publish 10, how many days went by before the old man visited you? Nope only did 14 professions, but only 2 days almost exactly 48 hours give or take a few.
- What happened when the old man visited you? I was sitting around checking out how much XP I had for conversion when I hear someone calling my name. Was on Dantooine near home town Player City Minos and we went throught the motions unhindered. He gave me the crystal and ran off before despawning. The Journal worked perfectly listing the completed task of talking to the Old Man.
- What did you do once the old man visited you? Logged off and logged back on a couple of days later and was immediately attacked by the sith, killed them easily and got waypoint to their camp. Disposed of the sith wannabes there and went to teh village on Dathomir where my credit was received and the am now starting my questing. The Journal listed all of this perfectly and worked really well.
Thanks!
Good Job!!

Is it me or what but after reading several pages of this thread the only ones not complaining about the XP conversion are TKM and Swords people. What does this say about game balance? I am a Rifleman and not a good one I still dont know all the tricks on getting XP quick but I was on Dantoonie last night even though it was laggy as hell on Ahazi (after the server had been down for quite awhile on a holiday) and I could not make near the XP people are claiming on these boards. Getting initiate should not be this hard. I am not talking about Jedi like so many people here I am just talking about the first step. It is funny so many people keep saying There are going to be so many Jedi. I dont think so. There are quite a few people who just want there second char. But this XP conversion is not just limiting the Jedi but it is limiting the amount second characters.

Ok I'm a relative Newbie to the game but I'm having a problem making sense out of this Conversion ratios for the Reg XP to Force Sensitive XP.
First off why in the world would you Say you are doing away with a grinding of professions system to just switch over to another (Worse) grinding system? Makes absolutely no sense.
Secondly, why the converions in the first place? Why didn't you just have the "Force Sensitives" gaining the experience they need to level up. Just like a Jedi recieves "Jedi" experience why not have the "Force Sensitives" gaining the experience they need instead of grinding out 220 MILLION xp to become an Initiate.
I like the new system otherwise. Gives a nice storyline in the path to become a Jedi. Instead of just grinding through the professions and then just gaining your slot.
This grinding business is ridiculus. I would have though of a more Common sense way of doing it.
Heres my Idea.
Force Sensitives gain FORCE SENSITIVE XP after they visit the Elder in the village for whatever they do. They are already Force Sensitive so this would make sense.
Make the experience needed to gain Jedi Initiate high like all other Jedi Skills say 400k 1st box, 800k second box, 1.6 Mill Third and 3.2 Mill fourth and 6.4 mill for mastery
This would allow for a required 30.4 million in total experience gained for total mastery of said Tree. A far cry from the 220 million now required but a little more sensible.
The Box unlock system is fair I think and should continue unlocking 1 area (4 boxes) per Phase. This would limit people from Grinding XP to fast while still allowing for Jedi Initiate to be gained after Phase 4 is complete.
I believe this would be a better solution to the problem of the ridiculusness of the XP conversion system.
As it is I will grind the XP required to complete my character in his chosen path. However some may not be as patient as I and chose not to continue playing the game. Which results in a loss of money for you and an upset customer which is never okay.

There is a great disturbance in the force. A new path to become a Jedi has evolved and the sound of a 10000 accounts being cancelled over this latest insult to SOE's customers can be heard though out the galaxy.

This brings to light a point:
The devs have to walk a line....
How do you get people to give up being Jedi without giving up the game itself?

Daslug wrote:Not sure if this is the right place, I don't have a complaint, just a questionIs there any particular reason why Enhanced Reflexes - Survival, with its +5 bonus to camping/foraging/mask scent/creature harvesting/creature knowledge/trapping/terrain negotiation does not allow the conversion of scout/trapping/survival/creature handling experience for the required FS experience?Seems that the scout and creature handling (which require two lines of scout) experience are directly related to this line rather than ones that give benefits to doctors/entertainers/surveyors
LOL, looks like someone beat me to it. I agree. This does seem to be a pretty major oversight. Exp from Scout and Ranger skills should convert to reflexes, IMHO. I hope they actually read this.

Ok.. I could use some help here as I, like so many others, made a few mistakes when doing the "free bars" and training in my FS skills. First off I found that even though I dedicated xp to combat prowess I can not get trianed in any melee blocks/bars. Then I found out that I can only open a tree via Quest had I not chossen it with my free bars. Good lord what a cluster f..k this is.
So can anyone at all tell me what bars in what tree are being trained this time around? i.e. Phaze 1.
The break down of what I chose is as follows:
Combat Prowess - Ranged Accuracy, Ranged Speed. all 4 blocks in both bars.
Enhanced Reflexes - Ranged Defense, Vehicle Control. all 4 blocks in both bars.
Hightened Senses - Luck. All 4 bars.
Ok this is 5 of my so called needed 6. I also have enough fp to gain a melee block in Combat Prowess but trainer will not train either branch/bar. I also have enough fp in crafting to learn 2 blocks but of course I can not open that tree since I did the combat quest { dumb me } first.
So the real question is does the trainer only teach 2 bars per tree per phaze? This would suck because I am hoping to do Survival in the reflex tree and I am converting xp to fp for it.
So if he does only teach 2 bars per tree { which I think is dumb } does anyone know which 2 in each tree?

how about making us able to trade one kind of fs exp for another from the guy at the villiage, on a 1 to 1 basis? that will help with some of the mistakes due to the total and complete lack of explanations on how things work.

Definition of a game: "An activity providing entertainment or amusement; a pastime"
Definition of SWG: "An activity in which people sit around mad and angry everyday grinding ginormous and ungodly ammounts of xp: Not fun: not entertaining; no content
I HAVE CANCELED ACCOUNT (not that SOE cares)
I think it is sad that casual gamers will never know what its like to be a jedi in this game.
I think its sad that the developers lack any imagination to develop a game that people actually enjoy
I think its sad that people actually log on and grind for hours and hours and hours every day
I think its sad that i actually pay to hate my experience with SWG
I think its sad that Lucas even affiliates himself with this game
As a doctrying to get the 4 boxes in force persuasioni would have had to buff 1,225 people at a 10:1 conversion rate
COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY REDICULOUS
How is that enjoyable?
What happened to games like Halo, Final Fantasy, Warcraft, Starcraft, etc, that actualyl have content? Theres is nothing to do in this game!!!!!!! Nothing!
You might be saying "JTL willbe the answer" Ha after flying around in space for a month youll get bored, b/cthere wont be any content. And with ideas like the Developers had in this patch 10...youll be lucky if u can ever fly an x-wing or tie fighter....a shipwright will prolly have tocraft at a 10:1 conversion rate to master the profession.
Youguys should thinkabout the definition of a gamethenext time u sign on to grind for the next 6 hours every day of the year...Is that what u call fun? And when u do get to unlock jedi initiate in 2006 will u have to grind another equivalent of what it took to get therejsut to get to padawan? This is not fun..this iswrong. Unlike many i cant afford to sit around grinding 7 days a week 6 hours a day. And even if i did unlock jedi by some freak chance...yeh id be excited for a month, but then there would be no content to keep me iterested.
I cant believe thatsome of u have putup with this game for so long...maybe if u all cancelled the developers would actually think for once
Later,
I have more fun playing internet reversi then this sorry excuse for fun
