Found an interesting piece the other night once I got to the village......heres the low down.

So I talked with the quest giver dude and chose to help the sick and dying. You need to go talk with another NPC whos name I can't remember atm, when you converse with her she will tell you that you need to heal 5 patients using an exerimental med she has created. Once you accept this force sensative task there is no turning back.

You chat with a med droid who will give you a series of symptoms such as Puss filled Lesions, Fever, Bloody Cough, Paralysis, Vomiting, Blindness, and so on. You must have a GOOD chemical crafting kit and a Crafting droid to assemble these meds properly. You need a good Organic (Food or Floral) and a good Metal.

(BTW the 3 total stats you need are OQ-66% and PE-33% and UT falls into a third item at 33%--(Which is funny cause 33+66=99 wonder what 1% fell to))

Once you have this you will begin crafting and experimenting to get different variations of the symptoms in the medical process. Each attempt in experiment will open up another level to the medicine you produce. Once you have crafted a few meds to cover the different symptoms you hand them to the droid and he shoots em up. After that you converse with the droid again and he tells you the symptoms remaining and any other side effects your meds have given the patient.

Stupid Q/A time..........

Q. If there is more than one person there talking with the droid will he cure symptoms you can't or finish the last symptom and get the exp count for the task?

A. NO no no no no no and no. Each task is set to the individual and the individual alone.

Q. So these meds are a pain in the *edit* to make huh, can i craft a crate of them and sell them to the poor fools with no doc crafting abilities at the villiage?

A. No the items made are non trade-able.

Q. What if I get really tired driving all over and have cured some of the symptoms.....will the med droid reset if I log and come back the next day to finish them up?

A. Nope for some odd reason the almost dying settlers seem to lay there for weeks with the same symptoms while your out gettin drunk in a cantina.

Here is a list of the Symptoms and overall % for the experimentation you must hit tocreate them:

Fever<10%
Vomit15%
Sores19%-23%
Lesions26%-30%
Heart34%-40%
Respiritory41%-48%
Lost Vision 51%-55%
Paralysis 59%-66%
Spasms 68%-74%
Cough 75%-81%
Swelling 84%-90%
Bleeding >90%

So I accept it thinking that it most likely wont pull from an existing experience pool in med crafting (Being a force sensative quest and all) WRONG was I. I am a rifleman / combat medic, the med you need to craft requires medicine assembly exp. After searching the galaxy for a resource greater than 980 stats I managed to find Beans with a 999 PE and a Steel with a 998 OQ, so I find all these GREAT items and pull out me trusty crafting droid and chomp some pol cake and bespin and open up my 15.00 crafting tool.....drop the resources in.....hit next and POOF 29% on assembly.......hmmm I though lets see what experimentation brings...........POOF Crit fail. Well that figures. I run the assembly process a few times and the best I can hit is a 67% total quality.

After all this I run out and get a crafters apron and managed to nail a 69% but tocuresome of the higher end symptoms you need to craft 90%+. The fix I found is dropping some of the hard earned CM tree and Climbing the DOC crafting tree. After climbing 3 bubs into the DOC crafting I can hit the 90% stuff each time. So for those wanting to select the medical phase of the village be cautious it will require you to have the skills in place to finish it.

Caa,

Thanks for the advice, but on the 96th try (yes, i was so bored I counted, based on the # oftravel tickets to Theed I bought), the camp was there. Instead of going to it fromCnet (2600M) I went from Tyrena (6000M) and it was there. *shrugs* go figure. Now I am doing the patrol missions, got one free unlock, used it on Crafting Experimentation and had enough combat type exp to learn the combat prowess novice.

At the beginning of the new jedi system i thought it would be ok. I haven't started to grind yet because i decided to do TKA but i have begun to think that maybe it is a little too much grinding. The point of the jedi revamp many say was to stop grinding professions along with too many jedi popping up. But now the jedi grind has only worsened as you possiably need to get more doing the SAME kind of exp. Atleast with the previous way of getting jedi you changed profewssion and get badges bu now is going to get buffed, maxing out converting and restarting and piont a. I think and it already has, that many people were at the edge of the game already and now some have just been pushed over when they found out its more grinding. I don't have a huge problem with it but i wish is was some other way that was FUN considering this is a game and you're supposed to wanna play... I have already seen a few good-bye posts on the "in live" section on the other forums...

Im not angry at the CSR's cuz they have done a good job before and have created an amazing game that many ppl enjoy or used to. They are not trying to make the game unenjoyable and i am sick of ppl saying they suck all the time...

What do you think? :

I have to say and I know many people agree with me that the ammount of time you have to spend to become Jedi Initiate is ridiculous. It's not the grinding that bothers me, it's the Village Phases. Not allowing players to progress at their own pace is the worst thing you could have done. Forcing anyone who wants to be Jedi to wait 4 and a half months if they do a quest each phase is just stupid! SOE needs to either remove phases completely or lower it to 1 week instead of 3 at least. With this new system you are almost literally forcing anyone who wants to play a
Jedi in this game to give you 60$ and wait until after christmas. I know people who would take longer than that to complete the FS to Initiate progression, and there are plenty who would finish earlier, but the point is THEY CAN'T, you *CANNOT* progress at your own pace. You placed the
phases in the village in hopes of limiting the ammount of Jedi, so that there wasn't a huge flood of them. The problem with this theory is every 3 weeks there will be a bunch more jedi, ALL AT ONCE, instead of a new Jedi here and there randomly. I can't stress this enough when I say you can't force a player to follow a certain time frame. I've never heard tell of an MMORPG where you can't progress at your own rate and have to move at the exact same speed as all the other players. 4 and a half months? I can't count the ammount of posts with players saying they plan on quitting because they started when the game launched, decided NOT to hologrind, and just play the game, and are now paying for it and have to wait another 4 and a half months to get Jedi Initiate. There are some serious changes needed in this system..but I'm not sure if any of the devs realize this..

I have submitted 2 bug reports and 3 petitions for a fix to my toon. I am redirected everytime and case closed. I have an alt who displays none of these problems. I am warping with chat lag. By the forums I am due one free unlock. All this is since i had a bug preventing me from going covert from a recuiter. I could declare but when I attempt to go covert with a recuiter it didn't give me an option. Now the village guy doesn't give me the unlock option and the lag and warping all started about the time of the fix. This is NOT client side I am tired of the run around! In-game Stisrabet! This game has become unplayable and I am sick of the **edit** anwsers I get. Go look at the forums or contact tech support. I am the customer you contact tech support or read the forums. I refuse to get the run around. Screw the unlocks even I just want tto stop warping and having chat problems! I had a csr come to me in-game and fix something and look now sure i can declare and undeclare at will now but takes me a month to get there! FIX MY TOON TODAY! All weekend I put up with this because CSR was to lazy to read my full petition! Instead I get referred to these crap Forums and in Chat when servers crashed CSR held chat hostage for the entire time saying they wouldn't allow spam! Also they wouldn't anwser questions they are so busy holding chat hostage! I say look into these errors today! 2 women decide to lock down a chat room is BS and they know it!

Kastiom,

I understand your point and I don't like the way this is laid out either, but the real problem is that we were promised quest content and we got more grind.

The phases being 3 weeks long isn't an issue really, if the quests actually had content and you played through them during that time. The grind is totally unacceptable. We were promised that the grind would be gone. It's even worse now. If you start with no Fs skills and need 6 lines (24 boxes) you need to grind out the equivalent of 32.5 profession masteries. The grind was just converted over and now it's worse.

DEV's, END THE GRIND!

The new system is mediocre because the grind to Jedi Initiate is too long. Everything should be reversed so that the grind from Initiate to Knight is longer, but the grind from FS to Initiate is shorter. What is fun about doing the same ole fencing/CH over and over for FS experience? Especially when you are making me wait 3 weeks to do the next quest. The time gate on quests is silly as well. This game has turned into a lot of repetition and waiting. I hope it can hold my interest since the JTL beta has not =I....

Well, I'm in the Village and started the "Quests" (big joke, it's a GRIND not a quest). I got one free unlock, and it will take me over a year to get Initiate. Screw that. SOE has until September 21st to either A) Lower the exp transfer rates to 1:1 on COmbat/Scout/Crafting, ect exp and 1:2 Weapon exp, or B) GIVE FS EXP FROM THE QUESTS!!! Hell, I couldn't even help a friend wirh AP beacause combat exp has become so damn precious.

Ifyou do the 20 patrols for Captain Jackass, you should get FS exp to learn whatever he "unlocks"

For the blahblah novice, use the exp converted. If they had told the truth about the new system, I would have holo-grinded for real instead of half-asses holo-grinding. This is total BS.

SOE,

MAKE THIS A QUEST SYSTEM, NOT A WORSE GRIND THEN BEFORE YOU TOTAL MORONS!!!!!!!

Friends, I know a very lot are as furious about the XP conversion ratio and the resulting grind to unlock as I am. Other than power-gamers, no one has a realistic chance to become Jedi now ever. Face it.

The TRUTH is, that this was the purpose of Publish 10!

The Dev realized 2 things:

1. There are already too many Jedi, and even secretly raising the amount of Holo-Professions to 8 did not prevent it, as some people had fun in this Holo-grind

2. We can not openly forbid people to become Jedi, as this would chase away potential future customers.

So, they made the path to Jedi so hard, long and boring to prevent more than really few to unlock hence. Face the truth. They started to work on Public 10 since January 23rd! Half a year. The Devs knew pretty well what they were doing, they KNEW the results of the conversion rates.

THE CONVERSION RATES ARE NO ERROR BUT PURPOSE!

They never intended us to become Jedi at all. But for reasons of marketing they can not admit it, of course. They have to keep the false promise that is it possible, and in theory it is. But you can never unlock it, if you PLAY the game as a roleplayer.

Did you ever notice, despite the fact that here we face the greatest protest, unsuscription, flame & plea wave, NONE of the Dev made ANY comment over this matter? They do simply not care. Likely they dont even read this anymore. They get their money, and enough fools fail to understand that we are cheated.

If you think really evil, you might even consider the mass of people unsubscribing PURPOSE, you enough will swap to Eevequest II, another SoE product. Since these events, I expect everything. So quit posting here! There is no answer and there won't be! THIS was the plan, it is not an accident.

I would love to see the number for actual amount of people who have cancelled their accounts since publish 10 went through.

SOE does not respect or have and regards for their customers. All we get are generic responses to our request for help and auto emails if you go the email route.

I had 3 accounts cancelled 2 so far. My main account still has a few months on it. I personally know of at least 30 people who have left the game many of who had multiple accounts.

It's not a matter of how many Jedi that will be running around it's a matter of SOE and their need to control people. Not everyone will chase jedi. Many are doing just to get the 2nd character on their server.

Oh, for the love of the Force, please TH, raise the XP cap for those who unlock their Force Sensitivity!!! 80K Med XP is not enough to continue going back to the village for for conversion! XP cap must be higher!!!!

This "new quest system", for the actual 30 minutes it took me to complete the Medical quest. Was actually very cool. Hard to believe that was it though, for this total quest revamp thing.

Take one quest, finish it, then grind out an ungodly amount of xp. Doesn't seem like a real quest-based system as much as a complete a quest in order to get back to grinding.

XP to FSXP is a real chore because of the darn xp caps. I can out Medical XP (80k) in about 30 minutes... then i have to go back to the village, convert, rinse, repeat.

Seems like a good way to keep the Village clear of lurkers is to raise the XP caps so that we don't have to go back and exchange so frequently.
