the way to get glowy is bascially badges. Ben's house, exar kun, jedi temple, warren badge, libraran. prof badges help oh and themeparks, but it varies for each person on when you turn glowy
So I am Glowy... does that mean I will get a visit soon or am I going to have to wait weeks and months... ??

TH I have a question for you, what about the people that already unlocked do they automatically qualitfy or should they be waiting like the other groups.
You automatically qualify. Hang out in the wilderness and you will be visited in a short period of time. The old man will visit you in the wilderness and send you on a quest.
I Unlocked before Publish 10, spent 5 hous waiting in the wilderness on Dantooine, NO VISIT. I am now aiting in the wilderness on Dathomir for 1/2 an hour, NO VISIT.
What is it, 1-3 days, or a short period of time.

well lets all remember that Haden believes we're a very small piece of the community here on these forums and that the happy people are in game right now, smiling from ear to ear......

A lot of stress could be avoided if you plainly spell out what's needed and what isn't. You may think it to be spoon feeding us, but when you make a complicated method to work out who Santa visits and who he doesn't, then put a vague explanation on top you should expect these things.
It would be nice, but it was this way in beta, and its been this way ever since. Welcome to SWG...

It's hardly a wonder then that there are so many problems with this game.
Well, instead of becoming a fun game where the players and developers want to work together for an all around better game. The devs want to make it a "Us vs Them" type scenario.
The problem is, it seems like they've got their own vision for the game, and they're going to implement it no matter what. They forget that we're paying customers and we're buying the product they're producing, and when they forget that, they no longer feel like they have to communicate decisions and changes to us in an open and straight forward manner.

Here's an idea
How about allowing a force block unlock
for those of us who plunked down $80
for a collectors edition that had crappy
goggles you cant wear with a helmet?
Just a thought..

ok TH, seriously. You are the consumate politician, hands down. Do you even pay attention to the questions you are asked? You have yet to answer nearly the # of questions you claim to. Here is one for example:
jedipsychofire777 wrote:
TH, is there any way we can tell what "village access" group we are in?
There isn't a hard and fast rule, but there is a solid correlation based on how many professions you completed compared with how many holo-professions you unlocked. For instance, if you finished 31 professions, there is a extremely strong likelihood you'll get 5 branches unlocked. If you finished 29 or 30 professions, you most likely will get 4 branches and so on. Beyond that there is no hard and fast way to tell. Though like I said, there is almost a direct corrolation between how many total professions (32) were completed and how many holo-professions were completed.
Now, TH, did you even read this person's question? It doesn't look like it. This person clearly asked if there was any way to tell what group he/she was in. You replied with some nonsense about how many branches of stuff they would have when they get there.
This is the same as if someone asked:
"TH, how do i become a developer for SWG?"
-billydonuts
and you reply with:
"Well jimpancake, we have a few parties during the year, dress down fridays, make a decent salary and get to ride golfcarts across the Skywalker ranch when George isn't home. Thank you for asking what perks Devs get for working here sallymuffinpan. I hope to hear more intelligent questions from you in the future."
You see what I'm getting at here? I'm gonna start calling ya Thunder "dubya" Heart.

The poor "happy" people in game are running from player city to player city because thats how they heard people spawned the old man on test. Those poor fools dont even know how badly the devs screwed them. Ive been explaining to them when they show up in my city that they need to check the boards and probably grab a stress relief tool at the same time.

How disappointing, each 'group' has to finish the quests before the next group is even allowed a chance to get into the village? Such that if we only qualify for group 3 or 4 we can expect to wait 8-12 months before we get an opportunity to try the village. That is just annoying, if each group needs to unlock 6 branches, and each phase of the village lasts 1-3 weeks, some players will have to wait a year before they get access to the village. I had hoped the new system would be interesting and with a quest basis I thought for sure it would be, but if it takes that long what is the point? I could have hologrinded through all 32 professions in less time than that.

The old man will visit you whilst wandering about (on Test center he come just after you finish a fight you start (or at least he did BOTH times with me)) so chances of getting a visit whilst you're AFK, going by TC experience are pretty slim.

What happens if Im AFK when the old man visits? If i dont respond will he despawn and my chances be ruined? If so, then I am chained to my computer desk for weeks possibly to ensure that I dont miss out. Please a little more help for Post 9ers.
Thanx TH, you obviously ahve your work cut out for you with all the PMs im sure your getting as well as tying to keep up with the rest of these posts. On a positive note everything that Ive been able to test so far seems to be working. The /findfriend works awesome. No more vehicle warp. /check also seems to work. Good job so far.

when the hell did the number of profs get increased to 8? I never remember seeing anything about this......so now i guess instead of automatically qualifying because i had 1 prof left.....i now get plunked all the way down to group 3 with 4 profs left? Why the hell wasn't everyone told about this increase in prof requirements...I have talked with several on the valcyn server and they all still assumed it was 5 profs not 8.

Ok I agree with you very much. I knew what it took to get a jedi and really i stopped grinding after 17 or something like that. I decided to wait for the quests and you know what im glad i did. It adds intrigue and content to go this route. I have been playing since almost launch seems so long ago. I like the game. It gets better every day. The only problem i have is that new players will have the same chance unlocking as me. I guess thats to keep it interesting but im just afraid that the village will become like the MO on dantooine. That wasnt fun being there. I guess I am bittersweet. I welcome the changes just unsure of how they will actuallyaffect me. I think all the people that have played for more than a year actively should have first shot at the village ( after those already waiting from grinding that is) Just my opinion. Anyway good reveiws so far I was happy to see that the force was at least with me. Now Ill have fun getting the rest of the badges and such while I wait for the old dude to come. Thanks SOE for these changes I really hated seeing the force wuest based on grinding meaninless prefessions you have take a huge step in the right direction.
