TH- Incase no one else posted this, The PSG's only have lightsaber resists when pulled directly from a crate, However when the server restarts the PSG has lightsaber vurn, I have not yet tested this with armor from crates.


and also are turrets supposed to be 90% Lightsaber resistant? I do see how a tower of blocks can stop a lightsaber but falls apart vs a powerhammer

problems regarding the jedi revamp and ideas to solve them:

as is after publish 9:

- after publish9 there are tons of jedi around. at all starports one can see them in their
robes wielding lightsabers.

exampe given:
In Theed 2 jedi even fought 30 meters besides the imperial branch. Sorry, but this is wrong.
We are in a timeline were jedi are hunted down. Jedi have to hide. They may not use their

powers and reveal themselfes as jedi in public (even see them running around in robes and

wielding a light saber does offend a lot of people).
As devoted Star Wars fan I have to say that this destroys my and other peoples fun and
above all the Star Wars Feeling.

We do not want to see jedi all around and have the Empire standing next to them doing
nothing. It does not fit into Star Wars at this point.

Our passion for the game comes from the passion for the movies. It sad to see that with
every update you move further away from the movies.

The Jedi Trials made things much worse! Why? How many dungeons or interesting fight spots are there in SWG? Not many:
- Nightsisters, Elders
- Genosian Bunker
- Death Watch Bunker
- Tusken Fort
- Krayt Graveyard

to name the most. The Jedi trials have all these locations as target. E.G. Kill Ackley!!!
Now thats great having like 20 Jedi sitting in the Geno Bunker and killing everything.
How will a normal class be competitive to the jedi? Everyone has to become jedi to be able to keep up.

What will happen to the other30+ classes if everyone is about to become jedi? Who will need armor, weapons, etc.?

Ideas:

- Don't allow jedi to wear robes and sabers in cities (at least not in big or Empire
controlled cities) - Peple hate to see 10+ jedi at star ports

- Have unbeatable Commando Troopers or maybe even Vader himself spawn when a jedis offends
against this points (wearing a jedi robe and saber in big cities)
These troopers may teleport off the scene to prevent having xxx troopers standing around.

- make a filter, a "whole character filter" so one can enter the jedi name and does not have
to see or read/hear something from that char. may give problems if one fights an enemy were
also a filterred-out jedi fights but thats a smal issue.

- make a role-play-only server and allow people to move with items and cash (except jedi).
This may cost a fee (like moving everquest accounts)

- reintroduce the TEF. Every jedi running in big cities wielding a saber +wearing a robe
will get a TEF. Using force powers will give them a TEF.
It does not work to rely on people behave mature. You have to force them to not ruin the fun
of the majority.


For my part I have canceled my account. So did 2 of my friends. You will loose a lot more
customers because they want to play Star Wars online not KOTOR (Knights of the oldRepublic) online.

It is only a game but the feelings are real and I am really demotivated. I dont want to play a game which makes me angry and sad.

A look into the future:
Add-on 2 "a gate to the past". The jedi council discovered an ancient gate to the past. Now jedi have the possibility to jump back to the old republic and fight great wars. --> Welcome to EQ plane of time for all the jedi

The terminal says the house isanywhere from 10 to 50+items over the limit and it's a huge pain in the ass to get it back to 150.

It is extremly humiliating, that members of all proffessions were told "to learn better tactics" for months, whenever they pointed their fingers at the utterly messed up way, how Combat Medics are implemented in PVPbut it only needs some days ofcomparably overpowered high ranking Jedis to complain about the same subject to make DEVs happily jump and fix it...



And it is most annoying, that this incompetent bunch of DEVs flooded the SWG-Universe with Jedis that are so powerfull, that they keep openly ganking all professions instead of go into hiding.


Oh, did I say all prefessions? No, of course not all. But SOE thrills me once again, I am now enlightened, that Boba Fett must have been TK-Bruce Lee in a plasticarmor dress, who fought lightsabers, that cut through every armor, with his bare hands.


But certainly TH will explain next, that they changed the Time Frame of SWG a little bit to a till now not so well known time, where Bounty Hunters and Stormtroopers were extincted by Jedis....


It was about the same time, whenmany ranged professions asked themselfs what they are supposed to do, becausetheirmany of their skills where useless and broken and even if they wereworking the way they should, there wasn´t much to do except to killthe same creatures over and over again or get killed themselves by SuperBattleDroids andcdef PistolusingEngineers in Spaceships with 130K HAM.




P.S.: TH, are you sure you meant "expect" and not "except"....?

Having read alot of the comments with regards to the Jedi TEF i thought i would post another possible solution.


Given that the lightsabre TEF was removed for a good reason, and that the current destruction of the feel of the game through having Jedi showing off everywhere was not what the Devs intended (at least i hope it wasn't), and that in TH's words it is being reassessed i would suggest the following;


When a Jedi uses a lightsabre/force powers(/robes?) alter that players radial menu to temporarily include the option to TEF them.


That should allow Jedi to be Jedi but still with the risk of being turned in if in public. It should allow a Jedi to group up with trusted friends and play without the irritation of a TEF since they can only get one if another player has line of sight to them and wants to TEF them. It also should mean that the showing off in cities and starports that is destroying the feel and experience of the game should end fairly rapidly (natural selection is a wonderful thing). It could even be a fairly simple way of working visibility on BH terminals, increasing visibility as more people TEF 'turn in' a Jedi they see.


Hopefully this is somewhere between the return of the old system and all the problems it entailed and then current state where a game suposed to be set between episodes 4 and 5 is starting to feel like somewhere between episodes 1 and 2 (with an extra side order of Jedi).


Just a thought.

FRS system is not working.



There are far too little overts or light jedi to kill for experience.



  • Increase XP earned per kill.

  • Decrease XP needed for ranks.

  • Create another way to earn FRS XP.


Most of the time while people raid a city 1 or 2 goes overt therest gets a tef and currently we get -1 XP for DB'ing a teffed person.


I play 14hours a day and i barely see any overts running around let alone ranked light jedi, i get maybe 500 xp in those 14hours.


I even have to ask friends or randomto duel me so i can DB them for XP.


Thunderheart can you go into chat with the developer of this system and ask if he has any ideas to solve this?

I want the jedi TEF to be reinstated. I feel that the overall health of the game is more important than that we jedi can duel in cities and generally show off without much danger at all.

Hey, I know how about a system that doesn't involve high ranking Jedi using the rest of the player base as fodder. Would be nice for other people to play as well. 14 hours a day? sheesh.

JEDI TEF-- Question: How are we supposed to level in the FRS with only getting 15 kills per overt non jedi? IF they reintroduce tefs.. then i dont see how it would be possible for a ranked jedi to gain xp. He is good no doubt.. but cannot kill more than one CM at a time... And if he engages one person.. then the whole rest of the planet is able to attack him?


If you are going to reintroduce tef's.. then fix our forcecure poison/disease... one shot no less.. add some resists to our robes.. and roll the whole defender tree into lightsaber..


then we would be tough enough to attempt to take on an entire starport ourselves..


IF tefs come back.. i dont see how anyone could even get one rank in a 3 months span. Its bad enough having to fight groups of overt imps at starports... one stacked CM can take on a ranked jedi knight, and he has to run his ass outta there...


Imagine having to find an overt person to kill for FRS xp.. and worry about TEF.. only place to find overts is in the starports on TEMPEST... and ive been pvp for 3 days now for a measly 1000 frs xp...


we simply are not strong enough to PVP the way our skills are now...

how are the jedi knights that are ranked supposed to earn FRS xp.. they have to kill overts to ge tthis xp in the current system...


its forced PVP.. with a TEF they will never be able to frind XP if everyone in starports can attack them at will..



a ranked jedi knight has to run from a CM now cause they nerfed the jedis force cures...

Why would a Jedi Knight be in a starport where he/she could expect a large public throng? Maybe "sneaking" through at an odd hour, but not mingling among the masses, just waiting to be uncovered. As it stands, Jedi are far too prevelent among the populace. Learn to play as an outlaw, like a man/woman with a high price upon their head, or do not play one at all. Removing the public TEF was a serious misjudgement by the Developers. Jedi SHOULD NOT be like a commonRifleman, TK, Fencer (etc) casually lingering about the portslike a granny waiting for the town bus.


I am sorry if playing and advancing as a Jedi is hard, but IT SHOULD BE, because after that challange there is nothing left for many of the players who choose that path.

Why should a Jedi wielding a light saber in a starport get a tef? Why have a tef at all? Give FRS Jedi get xp for killing coverts too! Personally, it would be a great honor to be killed by a Jedi.
