starports should be 5 minutes or less.


The current arguments for 10 minutes dont hold water.


1) immersion - waiting for a shuttle is not immersive. Not even close.


2) space expansion - the arguments I have seen for this are riduculous. People have said that the 10 minute wait will be needed for the space expansion so people will need a reason to buy ships. This is ridiculous. Are you buying the space expansion for a taxi service? As a replacement to the shuttles? Hell no, buying it to have a spaceship. All shuttles could be like theed spaceport and I will still buy a spaceship and use it.


Remove the timesink, let us play, not wait.

Excellent post! Your point on the SE argument is perfect! Very nicely said. I agree with you 110%. Everyone is going to want their own shuttle, just like everyone has their own bike. Those who think otherwise are obviously not playing the same SWG game that the rest of us are.

This is a stupid idea not to fix it for reasons lying FAR into the future. It is broken now, as the mayority of the player base sees it. There is NO reason at all not to reduce the starport waste time to 5 minutes now and bring it back to 10 minutes later when pilots are being introduced. And IF they are able to incorporate a transport system that is superior to the existing one (which I totally doubt here, the devs will use the starships as another money sink and the costs for them will be so high that a transport ship pilot will have to charge high amounts of credits for transportation which will lead the players to stick to the old transport system).

So don't give us this crap about somewhere in the future we need long starport times. We know how often plans are changed and how often things are delayed (combat balance, anyone?). This needs to be fixed now.

PLEASE REDUCE STARPORT WASTE TIME TO 5 MINUTES!

sorry but what kid said 5 min starshuttle times and then they should load for 5 min....., im all for a bit lower shuttle times, but seeing one land 2 sec after the last one took off, i mean, i really doubt that mos eisley has shipping times like a subway station... and even though you would make a 5 min landing time and 10 min shuttle times, youd still be missing it sometimes, geez what planet are theese kinda ppl from... and to the guy who said that we actually own the game after we bought it.. ye you own ur cd and ur cd key, but you are not the boss ofver the devs, nor soe, sorry to dissapoint you, whats on that cd is yours (to some extenct) what they develop, and their servers are all theirs.

SOE is providing a service. And when providing a service you should listen to your customers . So weather or not you own anything they should listen to every one and at the least put up a poll and take a vote over such a heated argument

Wonder what happened to everything else they said about shuttles so long ago in a much nicer galaxy.
Think about this, instant transportation onto a shuttle in space, then wait 5 minutes and let people have the stuff that was promised pre-launch.


"Holo-chess, Sabacc, Drinks, Actively doing things while on the shuttle"


Now that was a long time ago.


Not only would this take away the 10 minute annoyance but give people somthing to do with each other without yelling screaming and swearing?

TH, can you please expand on the above line item and clarify what "use special attacks" is? When I first saw the test center patch notes the wording use made me think that this change was going to be the one that stopped every NPC in the game from fighting Unarmed when in melee range. The wording used here however doesn't make if clear if it is or it isn't.

Now, my TC char hasn't really gotten very far off the ground to go hunting tuskens to check if they use gaffis again or similar item, but I can tell you that after sitting in Dearic on TC for 3-4 hours killing sleemos and chunkers yesterday that every single one of them fought unarmed while in melee range instead of the random melee weapon that they once used. So either the above line item isn't the fix I thought it was *or* you overlooked the low end MOBs when fixing "NPCs".

I wanted to make a few comments on this last publish myself.

First off, thank you for finally fixing the following mounts problem. (That came as quite a surprise when I reallized my Bantha was toddling after me again! Heehee!) It works like a charm again.

Secondly: as one who has the dreaded ATI Radeon 9200 Video card. I am ever so grateful for the return of stars to the galaxy! They look spectacular again. You fixed it! Bravo!

Um,, on the negative side. THe little helper droid popping out every log on is a pain. Perhaps an option to turn him off?
