Oh and AudioOrgana, if I misconstrued your comments, let me say I'm sorry now. We've had NO end of trouble trying to get our point across, and it's almost like reflex for me to clear up misconceptions and jump in the fray at this point. So if you weren't hasslin' on Smugglers' Views of this patch, then forgive me, I misinterpreted.
bh missions are ineven more of a mess
you changed chargeshot1
1st you said it was working as intended
2nd you said it would be looked at in the combat revamp
but you change it now without giveing anyone any prior knowledge.
you put a timer on chargeshot2 WHICH DOES NOT EVEN WORK ANYWAY (YOU PUT A TIMER ON A SPECIAL THAT DOES NOT WORK) do you even know that most of the specials in the game do not work.
I have to say what I've seen of the crackdown is pretty unimpressive.
There is an empty base outside of Kadaara. The thugs around the city are more of a nuisance to rebels than an empty base.
4 rebels assualted the Emperor's Retreat and killed every Imperial Trooper and AT-ST in about 2 minutes plus the one or two players that were not covert and were working the Theme park. They then idled around and killed them again as they respawned. If there werea recruiter there, I believe the 20+ covert Imperial players would have put a quick end to the rebel assault. If the 'residence' of the Emperor isn't even lethal to Rebels, then I don't have much faith that this crackdown will be much more than a bad patch in the long run.
I have not been scanned by any Imperial troops so far, even after spending about 2 hours out and about the Emperor's Retreat and in Kadaara and Theed for additional activities.
3 storm troopers at a time come into the Coronet cantina in Scylla and kill the same rebel medic before being killed by whatever stronger rebel decides to get a few easy faction points. However, the storm troopers were killed every time they spawned within a few minutes.
This is not a very good emulation of "the oppressive Empire beating the ragged Rebel Alliance into submission and chasing them across the galaxy". It still feels muchmore like a decade after the war is over and the Empire has been crushed and "the Rebels" are just out mopping up the Imperial Remnants.
As for forcing people Overt and all that, or cutting in on Smugglers. I don't thing either is a problem, since, heck, the crackdown just isn't much of a crack down.
If you want to affect the GCW, you should be sending largeNPC Imperial armies out to raze rebel outposts. Annoying the non-PvP players in cantinas is not bringing the war to the ones that need to feel the pain in my opinion. The current arrangementmakes for some amusing show, but is really not putting any pressure on Rebels or Smugglers except in that one galaxy where they have enough numbers to actual make a couple of players pause before diving in.
Tyr/Kettemoor and other places
people are ZERG cloneing again
thats your feedback!
enjoy, may the mass slaughters come again!
Vastly disappointed, I had to seek it out and it had minimal impact on the game. The Rebels definitely have NOT been forced back underground.
I'd have been about 100x happier to see the ability to call a vehicle in the wild (since my bike STILL despawns on me constantly).
I haven't seen the imperial presense that I want to see. I agree that it has the feeling that the rebels now have a fp farm. I'd like to see a little bit more of a reason for the rebels to duck and cover.
I also don't see that people are being forced to pvp... it seems simple enough, if you don't want to be overted, and your reble don't carry contra-band. It's kind of the same in real life... if you don't want to go to jail, it's safer to not carry your dubbie *shrugs at spelling much less grammer of it* in your shirt pocket.
I love the things this patch has given us, the only change I'd like to see is better communication between the storm troopers, if one gets taken down in a cantina then there is a rebel presense there and the place needs to be flooded with a S.W.A.T force of troopers that will scan everyone in the area, and vaporise any rebels that they find (if you don't want to be found don't carry items that will announce you... it is after all contraband)
Thanks for the improvements

I like the game more today than I did when I first started.
So far I'm loving this crackdown. I hated the fact that PvP was almost non existant because 99.9% of players seem to enjoy remaining covert status.. now at least with the TEF it should create more of a frightening and exciting environment and a better game overall.
Atmosphere was lacking in SWG and now this is an excellent way to create some! Well done Devs, sure a little tweaking here and there with the number of scans etc, but overall a great sucess!
Well, on Chimaera the crackdown was very noticeable.... Coronet was crawling with STs, and Imp players went overt and roamed around teh city free from what I could see. I got myself a tef, killed a couple of troopers and promptly got mown down by a group of 5 imp overts... that was right in coronet square with lots of covert rebs selling (spamming) their wares. No reaction: no one joined in to help, or to role play abit of GCW.
I cloned, went back to the square and appealed (spammed) for rebs to go overt and defend the city - not one tell or reaction from anyone.
Bestine was the same, covert rebs and overt imps.
The good thing was: it did feel like a crackdown. The bad thing was: rebs weren't going to declare and get themselves shot up. I think thsi might be because of the heavy rebel presence on Chimaera - the crackdown on US servers might have been to try andweight the imp/reb balanc eof power a little more evenly, but on euro servers it just forces rebs intocovert.
Only in Anchorhead did there seem to be a good balance, where there were few npcs but some good pvp action (though the imps won).
The upshot is that on euro servers teh balance is ridiculously skewed. But that's no bad thing - rebels should be outlaws of a kind. It does get to me though when such a large % of teh player community dont experiment with the changes or take advantage of the no-pvp-decay change, at least for an hour or so. No, it's "The server's up again, I can spam my 'WTB...' macro every 5 seconds fo rthe next 5 hours". I know I know that's just their play style against mine, but I fear that the implicit intention of the crackdown, to bring the GCW and its dangers to bear on the fundamental experienc eo fthe game, will have the effect on euro servers of putting people off pvp, as the balance of power is SO weighted to the imp side.
