Lightsabers

The numbers may appear to be a bit low to what current Jedi see on their lightsabers now, but don't worry! We will apply behind the scenes values so the new lightsabers will deal the same amount of damage as pre-patch values until we push the combat balance live.

are they still going to be glowing bats? (ie kinetic with ap that is questionable at best, doesn't work?)

ok first all that stuff is cool but im very disapointed that jedi are getting more more work the the rest of the game and professions like those that are still very broken SQ,BH,Ranger... and all the other ones... and the GCW should be put before jedi... any comments TH, Q?

Ok, obviously you really don't use Dev Tracker, so...multiple reasons...Coding, combat balance changes being inter related with jedi, with gcw, with...getting it now? ALL of this has been gone over multiple times by multiple devs...do us all a favor...be positive for once, and do as the thread says, Let us Jedi have our moment...thanks!

Awesome TH, Just Awesome,...but damage type...What will Lightsaber Damage Type be? HUGE question...sorry took me a bit to post this am at work, sorry if that question was asked and answered before.

I have three questions:

On the robes, the article states that these will immediately issued upon completion of the Jedi Padawan trials, which to my understanding is still a point in which people can still retain most of their old skills? Will a TKA/Jedi be forced to wear a low level robe instead of the 80% armor even if they only wish to dabble in Jedi?

What faction will a Jedi be before the Jedi Knight Trials and will they be able to be covert and overt during this time as well?

What thought has there been on reaction to Overt Robe-wearing people (obvious Jedi) running through the starports? These leaders of highly secret councils will stick out like a sore thumb when mingling with the regular server population.

I have a question as a current jedi...

I'm really hoping this is answered, as it's not very clear with all that was stated.

I'm assuming that the new padawan will be equal to the old/current starting point as initiate. Does this mean we'll get jedi credits for everything done in the current initiate/padawan tree?

I'm currently apprentice and just wondering how many credits I'll actually get at this point. Will I get back credit for the completed padawan tree as well?

Thanks!

Thunderheart..since AFK crystal macroing is such a problem, how will Jedi's acquire their crystals? Still by looting them completely off NPC's or are they going to be foraged like a resource, etc? I'm sure alot of people would like to know the answer to this. Thanks.

My one concern with this is that it doesn't seem to answer the problem regarding crystals and pearls... Will we still need to buy pearls on trade forums, will the rich still be above the poor because they can afford the pearls or crystals? From the article, we can see crystals still drop from NPCs, and better NPCs will drop better crystals, but... that's not any kind of solution to that issue. Great job on everything else though!

For the new people who unlock after publish 10

Your main will be granted force sensitive and will be allowed to advance to jedi

Your unlocked slot will not be force sensitive but will be like your main was before you unlocked.

Which just seems really dumb to me, to be blunt.

All they have done is reverse them.

The thing people didn't like about hologrinding was ripping apart your main - not the work involved.

Sure, it's nicer to roleplay, but in terms of game systems they have just traded a bananna for a rotten bananna.

Although quested content is awesome, if the end result is I have to pull apart my main anywway I'm not interested.

"Existing Jedi will login and find themselves credited Jedi skill credits based on how far they are in their current skill trees. They will then purchase the skills they desire within the Force Skills and spend leftover skill credits on non Force Skills. Remember you do have to surrender basic skills to make it up to the Jedi Knight level! All existing Jedi will login with the Padawan Trial completed as well as the item rewards that stem from the Trial. Based on how far into the current Jedi system they are is how many of their skill points will be credited to the new Jedi system. Jedi Guardian 4-4-4-4's will login with the Padawan Trial completed and 100% of the possible Jedi skill points. This will enable them to immediately begin the process of the Jedi Knight Trials and may choose to join the Force Ranking system. "

TH, if possible I'd like some clarification on "Jedi" highlighted above. By Jedi do you mean all those past apprentice, all thosewith the Jedi Knight (orDark Knight) box or all people with a FSCS? I ask because there is obviously a huge difference between the three.

Basically if Jedi = FSCS in that description, should anyone that is an intiate continue to level or just fahgetaboutit until the patch?

Once I've gained my second character slot, both character slots are immediately eligible to gain force sensitive skills and become Jedi?
No. The new character slot will be a standard character. You can choose to go through the Force Sensitive quests again to allow that character to advance their Force abilities, but the entire quest line will need to be repeated with all the normal restraints.

Not cool. We originally chose race/gender knowing that it would not affect our second slot (Jedi). I wouldn't have picked a Rodian if I knew it would be the one ending up as Jedi. I'm at an impasse as I can not / don't want to do any of the following:

  • Scrap my first character, start a new one that will eventually be Jedi (lose all efforts thus far)

  • Keep playing current character and mark it up as a loss ( doesn't feel right, not the race/gender I wanted for a Jedi)

  • Have the ability to change race/gender at some point ( yeah, I don't see this available to me in my options screen)

So, this is kind of a bummer for those that haven't opened their Jedi slot yet.

I would like to be able to choose my race/gender for Jedi (or change it right now before I get there). Can anything be done?

** Where do Crystals come from? **

To quote the write-up: "Crystals will also provide much nicer stats depending on the level of NPC they come from."

So, I would assume Crystals drop from NPCs, as they do today.

What about Wookiees? Will we be able to wear the Robes or are we screwed yet again?
