Advancing down the path of Jedi will start with basic force sensitivity which will be open to all players to create a sense of the force.
?? Does this mean. Everyone will have two slots per server as well? And be FS? creating thousands of Jedi running around? Still kind of confused about this.
Successful Jedi Knights will have the opportunity for two slots (in the current design), but it will be difficult to attain.
So ONLY Jedi Knights will be able to get a second slot?
As for it being difficult to attain, that's what you said about the previous Jedi system. There are already a lot of Jedi, though probably not a huge number of Knights.
In any case, you're granting all Jedi Knights a mule account. I think that's a bad idea. It hurts interdependence in the game. What's your rationale for giving people extra slots, anyway? Why shouldn't they use a Jedi as their main character? They have 10 slots to play with and can play other characters on any server they like. And if the answer is "because I don't want to be a Jedi all the time," then just don't become a Jedi. I have never seen a good argument explaining why it's better to give people extra accounts which are commonly used for muling, buffing, and moneymaking - basically cutting out interdependence.

well, so far it's looking good, but we need more information on how this will affect current jedi before we can put our views in.
Some translation to the new system will be part of the process and current Jedi will not lose their second slot.
So all current Jedi are being awarded with a permanent extra mule account? That's whatI figured. See above. I just never thought this was a good approach, and I wish you'd force people to merge their characters. making SWG a single character server gamewas a great idea. It made people take on a role and live with its limitations. Grandfathering in all the hologrinders' extra characters will only ensure that they are less interdependent than everyone.

I could not believe that I will be forcedto PvP in order to advance as a Jedi. That is so out in left field that I can't believe it ever made it to a dev post, let alone one in 'in developement'. That does not match at all with what the jedi are about, (Dark Jedimaybe.) No jedi could have a goal of becoming master while knowing that to do so would require them to take countless lives...even starting towards master would send that Jedi directly down the path to the dark side. It was bad enough when I found out how much PvE killing was required to advance as a Jedi in the current system, but now I'll have to actually kill sentient beings (to top that they are avatars of real people!)
Please change this one quickly!
Forcing PVP upon Jedi Knights/ Master Dark Jedis is a brilliant idea that you don't seem to understand. The goal here is to keep Jedi Masters rare which is how it should be. By implementing PVP Light vs Dark not only is it sticking to continutiy but it will get the job done of keeping masters rare. This is a smart move and I applaud the DEVS ! HURRAH!
Alas, but it is you that does not understand, Does not understand what a jedi is about or what the light side of the force is about....The simple answer is life, not war and death.

Thanks for the quick reply TH!!! That was very helpful!
So, it seems clear to me that :
- you get your second character slot later in the process of completing quests(unlock a helper instead of a jedi)
- current jedi don't have to worry about losing progress
- people who have not unlocked will play through the quests ("recognition" of progress under the old system will be reflected in the new system... I hope that didn't change???)
- people have until publish 10 to unlock under the old system

Ok, TH. This is going to piss me off to no end. If I have been grinding profession after profession and still don't unlock...then along comes pub 9 and I still start at the same place as a brand new, out of the box account!? **edit** ARE YOU THINKING?!?!?! Hey do us hologrinders a favor then. tell us how to finish BEFORE pub 9. I have done 22 professions. the least you can do is tell me what I have to do to complete it BEFORE pub 9 hits so I can get my damn jedi. I have spent MILLIONS of credits and hundreds of tedious hours on your current system. NOW YOU TELL ME THAT HAS ALL AMOUNTED TO SQUAT BECAUSE THE DEV TEAM DECIDED TO CHANGE THINGS AROUND?
Do yourself and the rest of us a favor and just tell all the silent holo people the last part so I don't just cancel my account. It's like dangling a piece of string in front of a kitten and watching it jump up and try to get it, onlyfor you to pull it away at the last second AND PUNCH THE KITTEN IN THE FACE!!
