Let me get this straight, the only way we can get a PvE base, is as a PvP reward?

No, you can purchase them outright - Im adding that to the doc now.

Ahhh ok, that changes things a bit Just keep in mind that since these may be more disposable (a PvPer won't be able to help defend it against a PvE opposite faction squad) that they'll be cheaper.

All of this looks unreal. Great to see, and great to see it will be happening so fast.

I still don't quite understand the whole PvE base thing myself. I understand the concept of opening base destruction up to people who don't necessarily want to PvP but I don't really understand why someone would purchase one if they cannot defend it themselves. Its a little counterintuitive to me. There has to be something more about them that we are missing here...

They still count towards planetary control, and the NPCs will still be there to defend to some degree.

my suggestion on the PVE base would have to be something to the effect of if you are within 32 meters of an enemy shutdown terminal for more than 5 minutes, you are turned PVP (special forces). This will allow players that are PVE to contribute to defeating NPCs of the opposite faction, but not participate in the base destruction sequence.

There has to be some type of player way to defend the base besides the NPCs. Having 5 players that are all combatants (PVE) go into a base, whipe the place clean, then destroy the base while the you just sit there with nothing to do (since they are unattackable by PVP-special forces), is not so good.

We are not forcing people into PvP anymore. It is a playstyle choice that people should make, not have it forced on them.

Hmm I dont like the idea that people can attack your PVE base while not PvP enabled and destroy it, while you have to sit back not able to be anything.

PvP bases will spawn with very nasty NPCs inside...it won't be a cake walk.

TH, what about PvEEE ? (highlighted and stretched for visibility)

That's why they'll be cheaper to purchase out-right, and come free with PvP base purchases.

Then make it so that PvE bases dont acount towards the 3 base limit or give it a seperate PvE base limit. No one is going to sacrifice one of their 3 base lots to go to a base that they have no way to defend.

Wow this is great!

However your PvE base idea does not make sense. As stated earlier by some, coverts just for old times sake, would be un-able to stop a bunch of overts who come do destroy their base.

And how would PvE players stop PvE players then? The whole point in PvE is not to fight other players I thought? This isn't making much sense.

Instead for PvE bases try this.

PvE bases can only be captured. Not destroyed. However if the orginal faction reclaims the base they can destroy it like all base owners. This works cause anybody can own base too. When you capture a base however it keeps it's original look. So say Rebels capture an Imperial Base. Now it belongs to them and spawns Rebel Troops. Though slightly less cause it is captured. Yet it will still have all the banners.

Sometimes you want to capture a base and use it as your own to jeopardize enemy control, and or because your faction is in need of bases. Like the Rebels for example. Do you think they would just destroy every base? No. We all know Rebels are something of the under dogs, so when they can't get a base they would capture one of the enemy's. Same for the Imperials especially if they were losing control of planet.

Not only that but these PvE bases could create some great battles. Just think both sides would battle back and forth for bases to have control. Eventually one side would throw in the towel, with the original faction destroying the base, or the other claiming it for their selves. However that base may always be turned to add that interesting aspect. Say an Imperial combatant player sets up a PvE base. However they lose it to Rebels and they regain and lose control several times before giving up. Yet a couple weeks or months later some Imperial spots the base with Imperial flags yet there are rebels all around it. To keep it out of the hands of the enemy they go capture the base and destroy it.

I think it would make a great and fun system. Cause you would still have bases to be destroyed by your faction, but also ones that can be captured to help your faction.

In this way you could please everybody I would think.

It's just a suggestion based from what I read of what could be improved, unless there is something I am missing.

Either way this sounds great.
