Random Roll (add 2 options)

  1. In Random Roll setting the game randomly determines from all the group members preset who gets any given looted object. For example, when someone uses loot all on a corpse with multiple items the items will go to different party members (even though only one person clicked on the corpse).

  2. In Random Roll setting the game randomly determines from all the group members preset who gets any given looted object. All loot is shown to all party members (in range) via system message in the new system.

Great to hear!

Thanks for adding the option for Random as suggested, sometimes we whiners lead to game changes... or maybe often. This will give all the groupmembers an oppty to get loot, and not have to deal with lottery windows when in the thick of battle.

eh, in the thick of battle who gets what loot should be second priorty

-I support a Galactic Civil War fought between regular, average players... Simply strict, hardlined Imperials & freedom lovin' Rebels fighting for control of the galaxy. A Galactic Civil War fought not with glowsticks or lightsabers, but with blasters, lances, and how much guts you have. A Galactic Civil War which reflects the timeline, the destruction of the Death Star, the absolute control which the Empire has and the brave Rebels trying to break up that reign... The extinction of all but a few rare and special Jedi. That my friends, is the Galactic Civil War and that is what we have to aim for.

All loot was shown to all party members (in range) via the current system...until JtL was released and it stopped working correctly.

I really liked the way it worked in EQ2 (about the only thing I liked about either that or WOW). Whoever first attacks a mob (solo or group) are the only ones who can do damage to it whilst combat persists, unless they "ask for help." Something like that might work very well in SWG and end a lot of kill stealing.

I agree that something needs to be done, but I don't like that option myself. As some people have said before, that could lead to one person (or group) attacking everything in an areaonce before anyone else to get the "lock" and then killing it all at his (or their) leisure while nobody else has the ability to attack. In essence pre-emptively stealing all the kills in the area. I'm not sure what EQ2 does to avoid this, but I can envision that happening.

I would like to see them make the determining damage be the damage the whole group does rather than the damage an individual does and that would fix the problem. I think it is fair that the group that does the most damage should get the loot rights.

Some of my pet peeve bugs:
•Armorsmith protection layers were not converted with the CU.
•Ship Details window does not close when you click "Travel" resulting in the message "You have lost the target. Closing interface."

Hí,

great system....

but:

I dont know if it was told yet. Many complain that items with same serial number etc would be split between party members... which is deplorable. So my suggestion:

With the introduction of that lootsystem, make items with same serial number (janta blood, NS shard, krayt tissue etc) STACKABLE like faccrates. So they appear only as one item in loot and inventory... would make looting rare items more sensible and make crafting and storage much easier...

Whoa, did you read the post about the loot system before making this comment. The group leader can set what type of looting system he wants. There still is the free for all looting system and there is the master looting system. So for groups that split the loot fairly, there is a system for you. The lottery system is for groups that don't necessarily know everyone in the group and doesn't want to be stuck getting nothing.

No, I hated EQ's system...I felt it was too restrictive and the way the 'ask for help' worked was really unwieldy. In EQ2 you were forced to behave, I felt I was in kindergarden. One of SWG's greatest strengths is it has more freedom of gameplay. Its an adults MMORPG. As an adults game, that means freedom to act howyou want. Make no mistake, I am not a griefer in anyway but a totally sanitized game experience is detrimental tothe feel ofthe world overall. I willshare my world with jerks to preserve this feeling. Personally, I think that looting rights should be based on a percentage...for example if a mob has a 100 hitpoints you would have to damage 30 of them to get loot rights if you attacked first, and the kill stealer 70 to get loot rights.
