Thread: Group Friendly Looting
- In Random Roll setting the game randomly determines from all the group members preset who gets any given looted object. For example, when someone uses loot all on a corpse with multiple items the items will go to different party members (even though only one person clicked on the corpse).

These changes are cool.
But the main thing I'm wondering about how to get loot rights. As it is now a single rifleman canget loot rightsover a big group of 5-10 people just because that solo rifleman out damages the best person in the group, when totaly the group does clearly more damage. This system is not working good I think.
There has to be some way to stop this. Make the groups total damage on a mob count for loot rights, not a single person.
We are investigating ways to improve the way looting rights works.
That was also a concern of mine since "how" Looting Rights were determined was not mentioned at all in the article.
Also... what happens when you loot 8 identical Krayt Tissues (like in the picture in the article)?? They're worthless individually... so are they split amongst all the "bidders" or all given to the "winner"?
A group leader needs a group to do this. If he is greedy, no-one will group with him.

The thing about this is... wont many greedy group leaders make themselves the master looter of a friend of theirs so they get all the loot? It just doesn't seem fair to me. Sure people can join another group, but what leader isn't going to do what's best for them? Humans are greedy people, and they'll do whatever they can to make sure they get the best of everything. The rest of the group will be left with nothing, just as it is now.
All loot is shown to all party members (in range) via system message in the new system.

Good idea, but in my experience the problem isn't in who in a group gets to loot. Most groups are guild members or other close friends who have no problem working out who gets what loot (but sometimes loner players group with others, and I can see where this would help with that).
I want to know: If one group is killing a high end creature, and doing well, but then a Jedi comes out of no where, does more damage, and gets the loot rights to the creature, stealing the kill from the first group. Further example: Two guild members and myself were killing Krayts, I am a TKM so I was tanking and taunting, the other two were Rifle Masters hanging back and doing all the damage. We were about 1/4 done with killing the Krayt when 2 more Rifle Masters came along, and decided they would also attack the Krayt. They beat us in damage just barely, so when the thing finally died, they had the loot rights, and any one from my party only got the message "You do not have permissiong to access this corpse." So when do we get a fix to this? I don't think it's right, fair, or even just nice for people to come along and steal loot rights such as that.
I really liked the way it worked in EQ2 (about the only thing I liked about either that or WOW). Whoever first attacks a mob (solo or group) are the only ones who can do damage to it whilst combat persists, unless they "ask for help." Something like that might work very well in SWG and end a lot of kill stealing.
