**edit** are you doing Sony? You have 3 major games coming out between now and JTLS..wake the f&ck up! Matrix, WoW, Doom3 for starters. Have you guys completely lost your minds? Why on earth do you want to screw us this hard? George Lucas is rolling over in his grave and he isn't even dead yet!

Do you have a clue what dabbling will do to this game and the fun factor? I don't want to play a TKM, Fencer, whatever..I earned the right to be a Jedi and want that professions abilities. I played the others already more than I care to remember. Quit screwing around and fix this crap or for the love of god hire some competent game designers! Need help finding them? send me a PM and I will be happy to hook you up,

Thanks Jester for spilling the beans on this.

Excellent post JEST3R, this is what we all know and have been screaming about in the jedi forums. And here is the real kicker....after all the pain and suffering of the grind, you will still be stuck with a 2.5 tree capped jedi - one that is gimped and missing basic survival skills that 4444 guardians have now. 4444's are losing 9 skill boxes, and EVERY jedi is losing the capabilityto have those 9 boxes/3 full treesat some point in the future. Sony is doing what they do best - a multiprong nerf.

And while you're at it give me back my backpack, too.

What im trying to figure out is reading all the posts about the revamp and people that have tried out. I have seen more complaints about the revamp than compliments. So majority of the people are saying the revamp shouldnt happen and Yet you guys at SOE are pushing it forward WHY? Do you not realize that unless you guys actually do something and soon your not going to have to worry about putting out the space mod soon. Your going to be out of jobs. I know ive personally spoke to quite a few people who say they will be closeing there accounts if this revamp happens. Me personnally the only thing i really wanted to see in the Jedi was Lightsabers doing other than kinetic dmg, maybe a little easier to get some crystals, and I may be just selfish b/c im most likely the only wookie jedi but i liked the no armor part. I tried out the revamp for a grand total of 15 min on the TC Corbantis server and I have to say I didnt like it one bit. I have to say I dont like the idea of being a Jedi and a rifleman or tka or doctor or whatever i choose to go b/c I havee to use the skill points. SOE has constantly said they wanna follow the storyline of the time period. Well after skywalker visted Yoda I dont ever remember him using a pistol or rifle or anything other than a saber. When i got into the TC Corbantis server today and i started placeing my skills at the end I still had 200 pts to use, and it wouldnt let me not choose something. This part really pist me off b/c im looken at skill trees that ive chosen in the jedi that the bars are all geen and just need to learn the skill but it wouldnt let me learn those skills I had to use up my 200 skill points on regular professions.

And now i just realized why do i even bother. SOE is not going to listen. How many people have submitted to the customer service lost items or credits or just reporting something, and they just reply back, its a known problem we are working however we apologize we cannot replace the items lost because we cannot verify them. Like i said its obvious that SOE isnt listening to us because i have seen more negative replies than positive on this revamp and yet they continue to bring it out, and if you read the home page about the revamp SOE is acting like everybody is all excited about the revamp.

Personally I beleive initiate should have been left the way it is. Then if they wanted to do specialization like master light saber, Force offense and Defense would be better. Well I said my peace SOE wont even look at it but i cant say i didnt try.

Im trying to hang on for the space mod but i dont think im going to make it. Dont think the game is going to make it either. I like this game but SOE you are **edit**ting on it and EQ2 will flush it down the toilet and dont even intend on playing EQ2 either, I just know SWG will loose majority of its customers to it.

Sadly, this revamp wouldn't be half bad, okay a bit unimaginitive, if the defense tree were to go away and its bonuses and skills folded into the lightsaber and force powers trees or if there was a basic profession similar to the current initiate tree which then branched out into lightsaber, force powers, healing and enhancement.

Acually the way it looks, new unlocks will have it much tougher to start out. IMO initiates are getting a good deal. Imagine trying to get all that xp in the new system. Can you honestly say, that you would be where you're at now in the conversion in the same time that you got it in the old?

Ill admit i havent tried the revamp out that long. I got into to and started doing the conversion process and when i got to doing regular professions i said to myself this gay and i quit. And logged back on to the normal corbantis server. After I logged back in to corbantis i started asking around to some of the jedi I know and started asking them if they have tried it. With ABSOLUTELY no exception every single person i talked to said 1 or 2 good pts about it but the rest SUCKED. So lol im really trying to figure out were some of these positive coments are comeing from that ive seen on this post. The are few but they are there. Its like Clinton i have yet to find anybody who admited to voteing for him but yet he was in office twice lol

I'll repost again, so you can see it. Please read it, and note it. You can't ignore hard numbers.

35 hours for the force tree.
35 hours for the man tree.
38 hours for the padawan box.
Total Hours: 144 (at 3 hours a day, 48 days)(at 6 hours a day, 24 days)
Knight Boxes (at 133k an hour)
24 hours for the novice box.
2 hours lightsaber tree.
22 hours for healing
22 hours for force
22 hours for man
24 hours for master box
Total Hours: 116 (at 3 hours a day, 39 days)(at 6 hours a day, 20 days)(28 hour difference)
Guardian boxes(at 200k an hour)
2 hours for the lightsaber boxes.
15 hours for the healing line
15 hours for the force line.
15 hours for the man line
(master box at 3.2 mil if fixed)
16 hours.
Total Hours: 63 hours (at 3 hours a day, 21 days)(at 6 hours a day, 11 days)(53 hour difference)
Total Hours for Jedi: 323 (at 3 hours a day, 108 days)(at 6 hours a day, 54 days)
% for each.
Padawan = 45% of all hours.
Knight = 36% of all hours. (9% difference)
Guardian = 19% of all hours. (17% difference)
!!!NOTE THIS!!!

Conversion Rate:
Padawan Boxes (45% of old * 250)
112 Skill Points.
Apprentice Boxes (36% of old * 250)
90 Skill Points.
Guardian Boxes (19% of old * 250)
48 Skill Points.

EASY WAY TO EVEN OUT SKILL POINTS!
THIS would be a regular TIME vs. SKILL conversion
Note: Tree is in skill point numbers.
Padawan boxes.

1-9-9-9
1-7-7-7

Master boxes
---------0-----------
1-5-5-5
1-3-3-3
1-1-1-1
1-1-1-1
---------14------------
Used all skill points, and everything works out for the "total hours put in"
I'll keep telling you that you've got it wrong, until you change the skill point conversion from that of above.

I couldnt agree more with all those numbers. heres another thing for people to think about....
Exp requirements in the old system for an initiate are:
X - 800k - 800k - 800k
X - 400k - 400k - 400k
X - 200k - 200k - 200k
X - 40k - 40k - 40k
but the skillpoints in the new system (regardless of the tree you're investing in) are:
2 - 2 - 2 - 2
4 - 4 - 4 - 4
6 - 6 - 6 - 6
8 - 8 - 8 - 8
forget all the time invested in the initiate tree which as the quoted poster accurately stated is about 45% of all hours to master, that conversion system is BACKWARDS. jebus am i the only one that can see when something is upsideown? the conversion system is seeminly giving credit based on boxes earned and then flipping it around with ability to get new boxes. I recognize the impotice for having the skillboxes the costs they are cause it keeps people from being able to go crazy with cookiee cutter builds but something needs to be done about the conversion process. cause under the new system exp does NOT relate to sp the way it did under the old. its upsideown, initiates are getting shafted, whose surprised?
TH, please read what the above quoted poster wrote, its 100% accurate and an excellent representation of what really goes on in live. furthermore its chalk full of good numbers and details with suggestions based on what you should do. for the love of God listen to him.

Some of the most logical thinking about this conversion. Think of the possibility for the extra skill points if the sp cost was inverted, 1sp for novice, 2-4-6-8, and 8 for master. Not saying it should be done this way but sure would be a nice to be able to use that extra 1 sp in a novice box.

Ditto.

Sometimes I wonder if the devs even play there own game, It doesnt take an idiot to figure out that the padawan tree is the hardest climb in the current jedi system. More weight must be applied to the conversion process in the padawan tree if this conversion is to be a FAIR process.

TH - are you guys getting it yet? I mean, please. Really this is so important for us. Why is the jedi profession getting gutted? Why is every jedi losing skills? Why is our work, in essence, being stripped from us?

Why was our top five list all but ignored? Every jedi that understands what this conversion is doing to us is OVERWHELMINGLY against it. IT really is tragic that you guys are putting in all this effort, for changes that are SIMPLY BAD.

We asked for diversity between light and dark jedi - we all know these differences - yet what you give us is a diversity=weak approach, where even former 4444 guardians cant get the basic survival skills they have in the current system.

This guy hit it right on the head. An acknowledgement from the devs that they are considering this stuff would be appreciated I believe.

Well guys, you may complain and the devs may not listen, but you still pay the subscriptions, and untill you decide to all pull out, then they will listen, the only way to hurt the corporates is to effect their income.

Although i appreciate everyones doom and gloom postings, i think some of them are constructive and critical, some of them are wasting their own time. Nothing beats the system with a mass cancellation.

If the company does not give what you want all of youpeople here, email acomplaint about the exact same problem leaving a combined "same complaint to the devs" with the exact same wording. If you do not do this, you then will just have to put up, and shut up !! with what ever they give to you as a gift. (Trojan Horse)

I am sorry but i work in a corp just like this and our customers are a little more pro-active in ensuring cancellation if we do not address any issues. If we had any more cancellations then 10% of the companies subscribers, we would inevidably lose our jobs and have to close thedept as it would not be a Viableproduct falling below the 10% - 15%net profit margin. Doing this would enforce SOE to sort their lives out before this happened. So please stop talking and fumingand take action, otherwise you are being screwed out of your customer satisfaction.

Quote from the Frigday Feature by TH:
In the top window, the Jedi Conversion window will tell you how many skill points you have to allocate when selecting your "Jedi Skills". Then you may purchase as many Jedi skills as you can with the amount of skill points you have allotted to you. Each novice Jedi Box costs 8 skill points. Thus, if you had only the Jedi Initiate box on your old Jedi, you would have been given 8 points, exactly enough to purchase a novice Jedi skill box.

This is something that should be factored into the current conversion ideas.

Keep up the great work ...
