I'm imperial.. came very close to being rebel, but chose at the last minute to be imperial because there were so many rebels that besides the look of having Star Wars it really wouldn't be scarey being a rebel.
Nowbeing imperial is just like being a rebel in the movies.. there are so few of us and to make matters worse... I saw animperial's AT-ST get destroyed by a single commando. That should never happen. Not because I'm a imperial.. but for the sake of realism.. I'd like to see a commando on foot take out a US Marine in a tank with a hand held flame thrower.. Gee.. now that would be a quick death for the commando. Other people are now saying after seeing that event that they don't want an AT ST.
Honestly, what was the point of your changes? I thought you said something about wanting to see more AT ST's in PVP... and you're seeing AT-St's less and less..
PVP is so short.. Im beginning to wonder what the content of this game really is keeping people long term..
Also.. cities known for being rebel in the movies should have more rebel NPC's .. likewise.. imperial towns.. when you have overts of either faction walking around towns that are primarily the opposite faction .. there's a real conflict of realism and goes against what they always talk about in supporting the realism of the movies. It once again goes back to looking and not feeling like the movies.
I really thought I'd play this game for a long time. All the developers want though is to keep a balance.. to keep taking dollars..Unless some major changes come soonI hope more people realise this is just a waste of time and money... I'm probably going to drop my account and I'll convince other imperials I'm in contact with it's just not worth it..

Well being a rebel i'd disagree with what you are doing to the number of AT-ST's that can be used at a time. I saw some guy at the coronet starport bringing out like 5 of them. There are so many rebels that wanta challenge and to play with fire for more than 5 seconds while killing a creature. AT-ST's should need to be killed by groups of people not just one commando.
I think that being a rebel is much less demanding then being an imp. Rebels have faction pets that just shoot womp rats and can barely kill them. Although they can take hits you can't use them against anything major muchless an imp PC or a NPC.
They are so freakin lame. There is no reason for rebels to work up for FP. All you can get is marine armor or bases. (i'm sure imps get bases as well) There is nothing that can help us in combat like the AT-ST. Give us a little something like a NPC with an E-Web to shoot. Rather than specforce marines that do 20 damage.
To make a point the AT-ST should stay as it is so you can stop my friend from complaining that there is nothing in the galaxy difficult to burn. She gets pissed goes and burns with a 1 hit kill. We want a challange so leave it as itis

This is just my opinion but ever since the latest patch where you introduced vehicles and nerfed at-st's from doing missions. I have noticed a huge and I mean huge decline in people playing this game. I personally am not happy with it what so ever and think you should re-introduce the at-st's back into doing nest missions.
We have over 40 people in our guild which atleast 30 use to play on a regular basis. Ever since the release of the patch I see maybe 4 or 5 regulars in our guild the rest have completely vanished. I myself am personally thinking of giving it up because after each patch you guys nerf way to many things. You devs have only done 1 or 2 things to the game to make it funner, from speaking with many people from many servers. I get the feeling from everyone I speak to that they are very unhappy with the way the game is turning out. The way you devs nerf anything and everything that is fun for people heres a few examples.
1. Krayt Dragon hunting, use to be fun before you made the HAM on them 900000000000000000 hit points, we had a group of 43 people go krayt hunting and everyone of us died 10 times before we finally killed one, wow thats fun. <-- Sarcasm!
2. Kunga Missions, Use to be alot of fun getting a group of 5 or 6 guys/gals together and all getting decent pay for them, now those are basically wiped out now you lucky to get a 4k mission and if your grouped you share for a hours worth of non-fun is about 1k.
3. Reg Missions With At-St's, Use to help alot because some people can only play during the late night hours when hardly anyone is online so now they basically can't solo a single mission by them selves unless there master CH and have a strong enough pet. Some people also dont like to group with other people to have to play the game. We all pay 14.95 a month and if I dont feel like grouping with people then why should i be forced too. With this update you are basically forced to group or be a crafter profession for the rest of your life.
These are just a few of the screwed up things in the game that need to be fixed, these are not just my issues I have heard 100's of others point out these same facts, not only in game but all over these forums.
I see this game going straight to the gudder and no one play it within a few months, so take it to heart if things are going to change and you guys don't quit nerfing things then you devs will be the only ones playing the game. I have 2 charactors online right now and pay 29.00 a month to have both of them online, I am about 1 more screwed up patch away from perminately calling it quits. Granted 29.00 a month isnt much but I know of 100's of others are sick of it too and are about to call it quits, and I know your not getting as many new signups as people are quiting.

If you cannot realize the damage and unbalanced nature of that practice then it is not work discussing anything with you. First off it cheapened ATST's and the GCW as a whole. Why is that rebel colonel working with that imperial with an ATST...to get tissues of course? Yeah I remember when Leia and Tarkin dropped that pesky facade of hating each other to go hunt some krayts...I mean a girl needs a new gun every so often. Please...
Stop looking in how to fill you own coffers or how to make yourself feel powerful. Think about the community as a whole and that game as a whole before spouting such nonsense. And for your information we took out 5 Krayts the other night with a group...no one had to clone (though some had to be rezzed thankfully we had a well planned out group).
I am curious as to how old you are, even in our comparatively technologically inferior civilization, our mechanized forces utilize combat systems which can be sealed of 100% from an external envirionment, and also can produce it's own operating temperature for inside the crew areas. Sure the AT-ST is a manned vehicle, but are you suggesting that the Imperial Design Engineers are so technologically inferior that they would not have chosed an armor that is resistant to basic attacks such as heat? Why diddnt Luke Skywalker run out there with a flame thrower to take out that AT-AT in ESB? Why diddnt Kyle Katarn simply flame the AT-STs in Dark Forces II or JK, Jedi Outcast? If I was designing a combat system I can assure you it would be resistant to heat, and that it would contain it's own internally controlled environment, and would most likely have the capability to seal it's environment from that of it's external operating envirionment so that it can perform it's missions on all/most of the planets in the Galaxy, to include those whose atmosphere would be considered inhospitible to some species, i.e., humans.
Please do not speak of subjects to which you apparently have no technical background in, it only shows your ignorance and aggravates those of us who actually know better.
I do not know if I can stand to respond to another one of your moronic replies, so I hope this is the last one. The game is balanced, you simply do not know how to play it because you do not understand the story line.
The Empire is a huge beurocratic juggernaut, managed through fear and intimidation. It has at it's disposal the majority of the resources available within the Galaxy and can make as much of whatever they please, and they do. They make huge, powerful war machines, and recruit and train thousands upon thousands of troopers to fight it's battles in keeping the Empire secure. However, the Empire's advantages are also it's disadvantages. It is slow to respond, slow to analyze, slow to maneuver. If taken on in a toe to toe battle, as was the case in the Battle of Hoth, the Empire will destroy it's opposing force every time. If taken on utilizing guerrilla and small unit tactics, as was the case on Endor, then there is a good chance that the opposing force may win.
The Rebels, on the other hand, are a "rag tag" band of planets and peoples who disagree with the Emperor. They are not all wanting to see a return to the old republic, there are many factions within the rebellion, and they all want something different to replace the empire. The rebels do have resources in terms of design, materials,and production capabilities, but nothing that can match the Empire's. So how can the fight the Empire and win? Simple! Through strategy, the use of tactics, take advantage of the speed and maneuverability of small unit's and the intelligence and judgement of small unit leaders. Whenever rebel forces defeated imperial forces within the Star Wars universe, it was through the use of tactics, trickery, cunning, guile, and bravery. If you supposed rebels were to play this game true to the continuity it was intended for, you would be fighting the empire in the same way. Not building huge rebel cities, blatantly overt rebel factories, and stores. Instead you would remain overt. Meeting and planning in secret, and striking when it is least expected by Imperial forces. Furthermore, those strikes should be militarily significant, like taking out the Emperor's retreat, or destroying the Dark Trooper facility, or decimating a group of Imperial outposts, or forts, etc. Your pvp attacks on imperial forces shouldl be ambushes, taking advantage of stealth, cover, and concealment to wait until the opportune moment to strike.
I do not know if you can comprehend what has been written here, but if you could, you would shut up and either (a) play the game as it was intended to be played in this period of time in the star wars universe, or you would shut up, quit, and go play some dungeons and dragons game online.
Looky here guys we have a guy that has to down grade everything that is said on the forums (ArchFirehaven). Hey Arch I am probably the only person that rarely ever complains about this game so when I do complain then there is something definately wrong. I have been a member since 7-28-03 andhave only posted 3 total messages with my concerns of the game, Iread these forums 3 hours a day. I rarely say much and deal with alot.
You also state that "I should think of the community as a whole and not be selfish for myself. " I feel I am exactly thinking of the community more then myself because I am a master CH and can tank alot of things myself. I am posting because of the amount of people that have disappeared because of this latest patch. If you read these forums alot then you will see that 99.9% of the people are complaining about this latest patch versus the .1% of people like you that just come on to rag on people posting ther opinions.
Also if you see np with the way Krayt Dragon hunting is setup then you need to go back and to playing EQ, and please dont lie and say you took out 5 krayts because I say BS. We took out 1 krayt over 40 of us and took us about a hour for its health to drop to nothing. Dont even lie bro because your not fooling anyone with your "Our group took out 5 krayts" I dont care if you had rez or a good group. Next time say 1 krayt and people would believe you but 5, lmao ya bull**edit**.
As for at-st's I actually like the option of 1 at a time even though I do feel sorry for the people that have worked months and saved up FP to buy 3 of them and now can not use them. I dont think 3 should have ever been in the game. But now if you look around, how many people with at-st's? 0 I have not seen 1 person with a at-st or declared status as imperial, there is no reason to go overt anymore. Imperials are out numbered 8 to 1 right now and SWG says they want more people to because imperial, well this sure as hell isnt the way to do that.
You need to go back and research what people are saying and how many people are currently still playing this game because you obvously are confused and have no idea what your talking about.
I also am not playing this game based on the realism of the starwars theme, I am paying 14.95 a month per character and when paying this much I want the game to be fun as possible not lame and stupid like it is at the moment. I could care less about how the story line goes I want fun. Talk about story line, when did Luke or Han Solo ever go fight Bol lairs, (Krayt Dragon) ok whos ever heard of them in Starwars? So basically they dont follow there own story line.
Also a Rebel colonel grouping with a imperial with at-st to go krayt hunting is just fine, thats why they have overt and covert status. If this was Storyline Starwars there wouldnt be such a thing as covert/overt, it would be Rebels and Imperials would be able to kill one another no matter what there status is. So another origanal Starwars storeline messed up huh?
