Thread: ID#2: Two Changes to Bazaars and Vendors
Why not just make Auctions on the bazaar worth having? Alot of people dont visit the forum let alone the Trade forum remove the cap on auctions and make it alot easier on use whats the difference between allowing auctions to the forum (Reaching only a limited amount of people) and allowing ones in game (Where they reach alot more people than just the forum regulars)?
Im sorry If something like this has already been posted but its not plauseavbel for me to read thru 23 pages of posts thats THs job ![]()
I am copying this from my post in the tailor forums cause I think it is more applicable here.
I am a master tailor and master merchant. I still do not have enough vendor room to take this 150 limit. The truth is most master merchants do not just sell their own things. They are a merchant so they can sell some of their own things plus that of other crafters. They also commonly serve as a merchant for PA or city needs. I have 6 vendors. 1 is clothing, 1 is Wookiee clothing, 1 vehicles, and 1 armor. All but the vehicles vendor has well over300 items of my own crafted goods. I also maintain our PA vendor and a bartender vendor in our city cantina. Both of these have over 200 items each as well. So is this not SOE's idea of a successful crafter and merchant. I have dedicated my entire player template to crafting and selling. With the 150 item cap I will be forced to drop the entire character because there would be no enjoyment in it for me.
So Thunderheart can you not tell me if that fits SOE's profile for a Master Merchant. I fail to understand how I could keep my template with these new rules. I am a dedicated crafter and to support that as well as a role within my city I mastered Merchant as well. So there is something wrong if I am no longer able to operate my character because of this. The only possible solution if you want the power of sales to be in the bazzaar and merchant hands is to grant higher number of sales with every level of Merchant Management. But I still vote to not put the 150 cap on at all because I know it will destroy the tailoring community which would be hit hard enough with the increase sale prices.
Yes - I'm ok with the bazaar increase
No - On the 150 cap, I could go 250 but, 150 would have me have to drop other skills to be able to get another vendor. I can't afford to do that and I don't think other people can either.
Don't you all understand? The whole purpose behind this is that the data base cannot handle the system as it is currently.
So what you paid for is going to be taken away from you. They give you aprice cap change to lesson the blow.
The 150 limit is a fact it will not change. They are justgiving you a chance to sound off on the 3000 cap move to 6000.
Shame on you SWG.
Opps I just read thru my post I must have been tierd hope its not to difficult to understand
I do NOT want to go restock every single day to keep products in stock!
Right now I can stock my vendor sufficiently to last a week or two. If this changes to 150 I will have to check it EVERY day to make sure I'm not out of a particular item. This would even be more noticeable for people selling medical goods, and weaponsmiths. The game is supposed to be FUN, not a JOB.

That is bad planning. Not our fault.

Sure that helps. I get to sell 25 things on the bazzaar for 6k when I could sell 100's of things for whatever price I wanted before.

Lets hope it is not set in stone. Keep voting it downit is our only option.
Shame on you SWG.
Agree 100%

The development team is planning to make two changes to the bazaar to make it more useful and effective.
The second item has to do with Vendors. Currently, there is no limit to how many items can be placed on a vendor. This causes technical issues, encourages monopolies and actually hurts sales in many instances because most players don't "drill down" through all of the vendor pages to find items. We want to solve the technical issues, discourage monopolies and make vendors easier to use. An item limit is going to be placed on vendors and that limit is intended to be placed on 150.

Punish us for running a succesfull business...GREAT! shhheeeeeeeit! sometimes I wonder about you guys and WHERE you are getting your information from!
If you forgot a 0 on that 150...you will be forgiven!
Here are my 50 cent:
Raising cap to 6.000: doesn't seem to make sense. What makes the difference? Even 6.000 won't enable some crafters to sell any goods on the public bazaar. Architects for example will always be forced to run their own shops, provided you're not planning to raise the cap to, say, 50.000?
Different approach: leave the 3.000 credit cap for instant sales, raise the cap for auctions to "the sky's the limit".
150 item limit: that would completely ruin some merchant's shops. Customer satisfaction (and making them return) is achieved mostly by having a well stocked vendor. The only effect this limit will have is that merchants with a high frequency of sales have to set up more vendors next to each other which will result in customers having to browse different vendors- does that make the shopping experience easier or more convenient?
Pro:
-Resources will not longer split in hundreds of small amounts.
-More Bazar-categories fill be filled.
Contra:
-This will have a light effect to the merchant profession
-This will maybe have a effect of ware-prices atm about 8 - 12 k credits... they will be decrease down to 6 k to make possible to offer them in bazar.
I think Database performance will stay ... small amounts of Resources-container will decrease ... new warestypes-items will increase.
VENDOR CAP 150 ITEMS: YES
PRO:
-Database performance will be better.
-Too much pages in a vendor is not usefull.
-Merchant skillbox Management will be more usefull. Each vendor will you give 150 more itemstorage.
Pro & Contra:
Most of the Professions have to stay daily longer in game ... making more conversations with other players to craft the individuell ordered product. Many of the known famous Player vendors have to refill more often. Than the new Players in this profession have a better chance to sell their wares ... when the bestseller-vendors is always empty. It will be much more work to be good in its own proffession.
Contra:
Some professions like tailor or DE will be pure service-professions. Only personell craft orders will be possible. They have too much different combinations to sell them all in a vendor.
