Thread: Friday Feature Jan 23rd Jedi Revamp
Do the devs even read this? Is there a better way to voice all of this stuff? Someone needs to sum up the top 15 issues that players want to see changed, added, or dropped and put it in the form of a survey that the devs will actually get to see. This forum is so jarbled with some really good ideas, and some really crappy ones... none the less they are all ideas that should be heard. I want this game to evolve for the better... not just be something that tides me over until world of warcraft is released... DEV'S PLEASE MAKE THIS GAME DEEPER, and please acknowledge that you HEAR us!
I dont like this plan at all. Give this new system 2 months and the game will only have jedis running around with no risk.
Keep perma-death or atleast loose the whole tree you are working on per death, that sounds better.
alot of people want to play the game and be a jedi...but they didn't want to spend all that time and money to be a jadi..then die ......than have to start all over again.
you have brought back alot of costomers.
My proposal for keeping Jedi relatively rare but acheivable by other means than grinding:
1. People that have done the hologrind should be rewarded in some way. I won't make any suggestions on how because that isn't the purpose of this message.
2. Keep the grind option open to those that wish to go that route.
New Quest Option...
Two NPCs (a Jedi and Sith)will appear on each planet at restart each day.
The placethey will appear will always be randomized and be at least1000maway from a city.
Through these NPCs you can get a quest to open your FSS. The quest should be hard, but not impossible for a solo player - so that there is a chance for people to retain anonymity. In fact, perhaps make it a multi-part quest that will take no less than a week to finish regardless of how much time you spend online.
IE: You go to waypoint one, do what you have to do.Upon completion, this sets a timer on the appearance of the next waypoint - automatically put into your datapad when time expires. This isjust a general idea, but you get thepoint.
Once the first person to findone hasconversed and received thequest - the NPC disappears - reappearing at another randomlocation aftersix to eighthours. This will prevent campers and sudden guild/PA surges ofJedi as friends tell friends where one can be found. Further, it will be impossible for anyone to know if/when they have been found in any given day.
I fear if you folks put in a quest system where the NPC is static - it will be a terrible mess.
Nothing special will mark the NPCs as Jedi in terms of appearance, but they will show up on the HUD as bright green dots or some other outstanding color apart from those already used.
I thought of this as I was riding around trying to find the barrels/disks for the current Scavenger Hunt going on. As hard as these are to find, it is not impossible if you stick with it.
Of course this idea could use further fleshing out ...but here is at least the skeleton for you to work with.
All of you that are screaming and cussing that your hologrind is for naught, need to remember something...
The Devs have consistently referred tounlocking an FSCSas "Gaining your Force Sensitive character" not becoming a jedi. Becoming a Jedi has always referred to the climb up the Jedi skill trees. My bet is that the hologrind will still be in effect.
If they do change it and all of your time hologrinding has been wasted, what are you going to do? Quit? Yeah right, I've heard that before. hahaha. You'll just do what ever they make you do. Because you want it that badly.
I wrote a long post but the damn forums timed out when I submitted it and lost it all.. grrrr..
Whose idea was it to implement more mind food/drinks? This has caused entertainers even more heartache trying to make a living. Since the publish I have not once sold a mind buff. No one tips. Let me say this again, NO ONE TIPS. I used to tip medics constantly for their heals while dancing. And I cant even do that now due to no income from people. A Social class? Ummmm, yeah ok right. Holos and Hologrinders have destroyed our profession to the point ofloosing any kind of income that we could make. The offer freely mind buffs simply they dont care because they are dropping it. I dont want any other profession other than what I have.Dont even say mission terminals. Ive never once had a music or dance mission work. Not to mention the shuttle trip you have to take to complete those. Your spending more credits than what its worth! The same with delivery. When you fix or add one thing to where is hurts other professions, there is something wrong.
Do away with the freely battle fatigue and mind heals! Anyone can run up to a entertainer and /watch or /listen. Hey thats great to see their toon clapping their hands for ya. BUT let the entertainers/dancers/musician toggle ON the healing! Just like the mind buff with /setperform. This will help us out greatly!! And will do away with alot of the AFK'ers simply it makes them be active for the healing expericence. And income for that healing will come as well. We're treated like dogs so throw us some bones!!!
How can a novice scout train explore I, then turn around and teach it to another? Thats kinda crappy too. Shouldnt you be a master before you apprentice someone? Buying another profession for 100cr? Thatsa crazy idea too. Why not make it to where you have to be a master to purchase another profession?? Quit having corportate meetings about gameplay and take some of these suggestions to heart!
