Thread: Desired Rewards

In reply to a few postings I saw, where the question was raised wether or not it would be wise having to hand over valuable rewards or loot to crafters:

I totally agree. If you had rewards which have to be repaired/identified/put together by a smith, the process should work in a way that you can do this from inside the trade window, or similar.

The same goes for slicing. The way it currently works, you will eventually have people ripping off other people. It is an unnecessary provocation for use of grief tactics, and no process in the game should require you to give a valuable item to another player with the risk to lose it.

But the folks at SOE should by now have experience with such matters and I am confident that this issue will be dealt with, hopefully sooner than later.

Bad move to have to redo a themepark to get a 'new' reward. Better to just run a check on whether a player has finished a particular quest, check if the player received the old reward, then put the new one in their inv. either during downtime or as part of a patch or is this too much work?

OR

Maybe if each NPC gave you the option to redo their quests from scratch on an individual basis ( maybe that's what you meant ), that would be the easiest way out ( 1 new converse option which resets that flag ). So say you wanted to redo Han Solo's quests, you could just do his and not have to go through everything on Corellia again or everything after Han's quests, if you had already done the entire park ( next patch, of course )

I'd really like the rewards to be highly visible, but not necessarily useful. Things like jewellery, clothes, items for houses would all motivate me to complete the quest.

However, I do think the special schematic idea isn't bad. Maybe it could be a limited run factory schematic so the effect on the crafting economy and game balance is limited.

probably said a million times but why not say it again...

1. more badges or probably some rare ranks. (factional and non-factional)

2. rare clothing. (non-craftable.)

3. weapon peices that can be crafted into a weapon. (im not a crafter.)

4. rare scematics. (non-tradable and tradable) (similar to EQ non-trade items.) from new types of droids, weapons, clothing to new food types.

5. rare factional items.

6. skill enhancements.

7. odd and strange items that lead to other quests or have story related information. (like a holocron that does something.)

8. Factional/non-factional pets. (Perhaps saving a person or creature that allies with you. Like meeting a NPC friend. Can be installed into missions. Very rare.)

I got it, THE PERFECT REWARD:

Message "You have completed the quest - you are now 1 step closer to opening your FS slot"

10,000 credits have been placed in your bank account.

Read the rest as they are also good ideas, but telling me im actually doing something that will open my FS slot some day would be the first cool reward I've ever recieved in the game.

Rewards - if I can buy better from another player then dont even bother, its just junk I will have to delete and 1000 newbies will post on the bazaar

- First off whats valuable - 500cr NOT - 10k cr ok now were getting warm

- Weapons -Make an Uber weapon drop just put its durrability at 500 so it wears out fast and make it a 1 time only drop per person.

- Armor - same as weapons, One time drop, half the durrability of player crafted so it wears out.

- Uber Components - Maxed out components that can be used in weapons and armor

- Cool furniture, clothing

- Titles and badges - with reward credits

- Supper Boss monsters, that require large parties to defeat in the dungeons

Look at the economy - 1 uber piece of player crafted composit armor is 25,000cr. Uber weapons can go for more. If your going to place a reward then it needs to be useful, or rare, or worth a lot of credits.

I doubt you'll get the time to actually read this far in but here goes, my ideas for possible rewards that won't imbalance the game. I for one do not agree with adding any type of uber schematics. All that will do is allow players to farm them and have a bunch built to sell to other players at ridiculous prices.

- Player Titles (It's been discussed before but I'm throwing my vote in on this one) It'll give people something to show off, and every little piece of glitz is something people will throw themselves onto.

- Armor Dye (There are very few colors available at the moment, make a slew of new color dyes available to armorsmiths and tailors as rare drops on tough creatures. I'm sure people will be willing to put forth the effort to try and make themselves look good)

- Tattoos (Not sure how viable this is, but allowing players who don't run around in composite all the time the option of showing off a new tattoo would be nice.)

- Clothing symbols (Something like a cloak with a symbol of a nova on it, or somesuch. Something not everyone else has to make you stand out)

- Rank insignia on faction armor (Another motivation to climb the ladder in the GCW)

- Weapon chassis that add no stats but allow you to have a unique looking weapon for others to ogle.

- Exterior house decorations, such as flags or a fence.

- An item that will reduce armor encumbrance by varying degrees, and every piece of armor can only have one of these ever used on them.

- 1 time quests that will allow you to add maybe 100 to your stats.

Just a few thoughts =)

I would like a badge "of completion" and a point or two added for the stat pool. I would work long and hard to complete a quest that helped me.

Trophy and ubber scamatics wouldn't do it for me. You would see them on vendors. Easier for anyone to buy.
