This is a repost, I just hope you guys shut down this terrible mess of a game and come back with a worthy product a year from now because you're on a fast sinking ship right now.

Change your game plan or what I said will come to pass, I guarantee it.

Three words:

Clothing. Skill. Attachment.

The ones I have seen are pathetic at best. If they are in abundance and exceptionally useful on other galaxies, then perhaps I'm mistaken. But either way, if most skill attachments give +1 to a skill, give +5 to one for a quest. Or if some give +5, give +10. I know a lot of people who would pay millions for a +10 to Medical Experimentation. This doesn't take away from crafting and definitely givespeople initiative to participate in quests. Even if they weren't a doctor, they could sell it to one. Like me.

How about an item that makes it so when you use a complete set of equipment (armor) from a crafter, you gain bonuses? Akin to the Armor Sets in Diablo II, but this would be say, a small shield generator type of device that links all the crafted armors together and then boosts their stats. It would be useless w/o the crafters.

How about items that when used have interesting effects, like say,one use Summon: Rancor? Duration five minutes?

I think the schematic drops are a great idea, and something that every one of these games seems to have, is tradeskill drops. I don't know about all of you, but having to work one skill or the other (Aritsan or Marksman) can suck at times. Having items drop that are used in recipes (skill tapes that work =) could bea great use. A problem with that could be though, say...You win a skill tape or recipe item, give it to the artisan of your choice, and if theyr'e less than honest they could easily (at this point) just craft up that item and say " Oh well dang, Critical Failure", and poof, you're screwed.

UO had items that came along once a year (Christmas) that rewarded players for continued playing (like true black dye tubs), and I'd love to see that kind of reward in SWG. In these games, status can go along way for players, and simple, non balance changing items that show up once can be great fun.

An item that buffs a creation (Pet, Droid, Weapon) could be good too, so long as it's an item that anybody can use, that can *only* be used, on something crafted.

some ideas:

1.) mini-perma-stat enhancements

people like to be able to make their characters more powerful when all else is said and done. So how bad would a rare +1 mind (or whatever random stat) from level 50 and above missions, this way maybe we could get half as cool as the mobs, and NPC's out there, and it would make PvP much more exciting if able to tweak out your character ( this could also be used for people who have spent all their skill points, and could spend enormous amounts of certain exp's to raise stats a tiny bit.)

2.) make the skill chips for armor and weapons work, and DROP once in awhile,. this will allow people to powerup, and personalize their own CRAFTED weapons and armor, without crafters losing out

3.) hard to find resources on high level mobs totalling 50 or more, with a chance to get more depending on what resource is in the area

4.) more speciallized components dropping that can be used in different crafting skills ...

5.) upgrade kits for weapons letting you tweak your own weapon once to a certain stat of that weapon..

Final point is this, ,,, this game is a grind anyway you look at it, if your doing missions (faction or others) or if your crafting 24/7 , putting more variety and ways to enhance our characters and skills, weapons, armor, etc, is our ultimate answer to enjoying this game for years to come, instead of a few months to max out then hace nothing left to do.

I would like to see:
Schematics for items which cannot already be made. Unique items which can't be crafted, possibly clothing, a pendant, something simple. Maybe something that can be droped in a house. Different rewards each time mission is completed. I would really think it would be cool to have non-sellable/tradeable items, so that you MUST complete the mission to get it. Maybe unique armor, but not definately better than craftable stuff.

I would NOT like to see:
Ub3r weapons that are better than crafted ones. (or any other item that is better that one that can be made)
Broken this, broken that, any junk we can't use.....
Loads of credits, the reward should be worth more than a large sum of money.

I'd say advanced weapon components (which you would have to have the crafter use)

Not buying JTL. Its just more of the same bugged game.

If it's a quest that's supposed to make you feel a part of the star wars saga, how about an item reward that does the same thing? Maybe even just a novelty item that we've seen or heard of from the movies. But if it's got practical value, even better.

Some sort of trophy would be a great reward! People need some way to show other players that they've completed the quest- something better than screenshots! A badge on their bio- something! Perhaps even a wearable medal or pin. Maybe a cloth patch that they can attach to a jacket or something.

Top priority: I want to show it off! But it'd also be nice if it made me feel like I was playing a star wars game and not just any rpg. Something nostalgic. Something very cool.

Throw in some faction points, bake, let it cook for 30 minutes, throw onto the test center, and you've got something that'll I'd be willing to spend 5 hours of gameplay on!

Impermanent things should be loot items, since they are not able to replace the goods you need tohave at all times and are the 'special' things that make looting worthwhile.

I think that a quest-only tradeable draft-schematic would be a great quest reward.

For example, you could do a quest that involved retrieving information from an old Trade Federation database on Lok and you could get a draft-schematic for Droidekas or something similiar. Given that draft-schematics are stored in the datapad, I think this is both feasible and entertaining. Imagine being the first to discover some ancient race's formula for high-quality poision or spice and selling it to the highest bidder - given that you want such technology to fall into their faction's hands. It would also be an easyway for the devs to add new schematics to the game. It would also make incredibly valuable rewards for special events without creating "uber-loot".

There are over 300 posts on this thread so far - so I hope one of the devs reads this suggestion. If you think this is a good idea please post a reply saying so - to up the chances the Devs will take notice of it.

Lol - I read some of the other posts and saw that someone already suggested this idea.

I SUPPORT THIS IDEA!

Here is the loot I'm looking for:

1) ONE-TIME USE schematics for weapons that I can give to my weaponsmith.

2) Components for weapons (you have already done this).

3) Rare decorative items for houses (there is already much of this floating around and it is highly desired)

4) Badges (it's amazing what people will do for a badge)

5) Unique Clothing (many people are going to Endor for the Maurauder Armor)

6) A Unique Pet (NOT a powerful pet, just a cool low level one that is cute looking and unique)

7) An extra skill point or two (I bet players would spend weeks to earn that. Probably the most valuable thing on this list.)

8) Access to an area that is part of the movies or the EU.

9) Rare ingredients for the Chefs to use in their food.

10) Special items that you can take to the Image Designers that will unlock new hairstyles (one time use only)

11) Instrument schematics for musicians (once again, one time use ... if you make them multiple use only a few people will do the quest)

12) A new title to put over your name (another thing that would be very popular ... could you imagine how many people would do a quest to put the "Defender of Alderaan" tag over their name?)

These are all very good ideas. I think number 6 would be really cool if I can have an Ewok as a pet... I would own AT-ST! Oh wait, im an imp. Nevermind the Ewok, can i get a Wookie instead?
