Thread: Desired Rewards

I think that a proper reward for a long hard quest that would not infringe upon any current crafters is to give vehicles (or schematics) and creature mounts to those that complete the long missions. Also furniture or other items that can only be gained thru doing this missions (like banners or paintings to hang on walls) would also be a good reward. Maybe even types of clothes that could not normally be made, but just give a "look" that someone might want (say a military style beret).

None of these things can currently be made, so crafters would not be affected too greatly. They are not uber-loot items (except maybe vehicles and mounts).

Tailors may be affected by the clothing, but since those items cannot currently be made and some people may not want that "look" I do not forsee this as too big of a problem. Maybe limiting the number of sockets availble in it, or not allowing any stat enhancements in the article of clothing would limit the harm.

Mounts might harm CH, but I do not forsee that as much of a problem for CH, they can still sell non-mount creatures to people. BE's might also be affected, but once again, they can still sell their non-mount creatures to people, thus limiting the harm.

For the people who would complain "But such and such class cant do the mission." Well get into a group and do it that way. Having such an item should be an accomplishment much more than just putting down some money.

Rumor is that looting does not work in groups. Seems to be true in my experience. Assuming this will be fixed, the number one incentive would be a force slot. Everyone would do those missions. Droids would be cool, unique items would be cool too, especially if a crafter could then make them once they were found.Credits are always nice but rarely are the main reason for a mission. XP, faction status, and resources drive missions. Of course if there were a rumor of a 1,000,000 credit mission, it would draw attention ($50K per person in a 20 person group, $100K in a 10 person group). Meeting characters from Star Wars has proven more successful than you thought

Special abilities to take away some tedious tasks temporarily would also be sweet, like a month of free shuttle rides from anywhere. All of these could be at the individual or group or guild level.

Just adding to the fray....

I think this is the ideal method to add components to the game. For instance there are only 3 plant types craftable by architects, yet there are 100s accross the worlds. That is 1 example there are some for every profession. My thought is similar to those before me... Give a schematic drop that is a tradable by everyone, but usable only by a particular profession. For instance a plant schematic. I, a commando, have no use for this, but I'd love a new addition for my house, so I find a Architect to give this too. They then are able to make that plant variety. The really cool thing isthat if you make a "random profession schematic drop" for each quest completion youare effecting the entire community. For one, the finder may or may not be able to use the item. If not, they can sell it/trade it at high value due to rarity. If they can use it, they are nowone of very few peple that can make the said item. Same is true if a non-quest completer traders for the schematic. It is extremely valuable as a skill and as a commodity, thus enhancing their reputation in their profession. Plus, if the mission is say commbat, the artsian can hire someone to go try for them... Further, you can make them even more rare by making the quests only completable once, thus spreading the wealth.

Another item, seperate would be a rank award system that is wearable by all accross all existing clothes. Maybe a left sholder to right hip sash.. (the double bandoleer is jacked anyway). I don't know many (if any) faction membersthat would not want this. Just make sure it is an optional item and automatically updates based when rank is aquired/lost. It will PROBABLY have to be an option to the "Personal" screen that will be checkable. Something like "Show Rank" with the checkbox.

Lastly, is not so much a added reward but a request to fix... shill tapes and armor attachments. I believe the skill tapes might be fixed now on TC, but I haven't seen any mention of Armor Attachements. These are also really cool awards and highly tradable/valuable due to rarity.

Ok.. I lied... one more... More "gifts" would be cool. Paintings, Helmets, etc. BUT for the clothing items make them work. For instance the rebel helmet is worthless... just a hat, no more. Cool as a gift, but if its a helmet give it some protection. Kinda like a Armore version of the CDEF. Low protection but super low encumbrances.

Thats it.. really... hehe. I'd love to see the schematic drop added.... You could not ask for an easier way to add in content while providing new objects to the game.

One of the concerns I've seen raised is if we make a better reward, does that mean that players who already completed the themepark won't ever have the opportunity to get that new reward. We're not sure what the exact solution is, but we definitely are looking intoways so you can. We agree that you should not be punished for finishing the task before we increased the reward. We will probably have an NPC who you can talk to who will allow you to restart the adventure from the beginning.

YES, THANK YOU! =)

I would do be happy to finish a long, hard quest or dungeon for the reward of a unique item in the game. By this I mean something I can decorate my house with - maybe a painting or an area rug... or a trophy of some sort.

I've always wanted to see Dungeons in SWG as Indiana Jones type adventures. What reason does someone have for wanting to go into a dungeon in the first place? They arent supposed to be pleasent places, so you dont just go in there for a stroll. If youre going into a dungeon, there must be something there youre after.

I would like to see the reward for completing a dungeon be a rare artifact or item. Maybe its a Corellian Vase or painting by a famous Naboo artist (what was the name of the artist Padme first kissed?) stashed there by pirates. Maybe its a Jedi Holocron left there by some Jedi Master. Maybe it is a datapad telling the story of Exar Kun or of the Sith (I really like the idea of in game items to spread fiction)

Some things couldactually be used to ENHANCE the crafting community. Maybe the rewards in some dungeons is a lost schematic for a droid that is otherwise uncraftable. Maybe it is a small quantity of a material for building items (wasnt one of the EU books about finding this stash of gold wire and Xeon chips that were very valuable and good for making quality droids?).

It should be something that would be either totally useless as anything but decoration, or something that you would give to a crafter to make something better.

How about an Entertainer/Musician/Dancer mission that pays more than it costs totravel to the mission destination in the first place!!!

My God! You make more money hunting nunas in one missionthan you do from doing 5 entertainer missions. And you have to travel 10 times further to do an entertainer mission!!!
