Thread: The Path of the Jedi: Reckoning of Effort

start and finish the Force Sensitive quests. When enough people have completed their path, we will open it up the village to the next group.Groups 1 – 4 will qualify for a visit when the village traffic has died down. Of course, if you qualify for the visit under the new system, you will automatically be granted a visit from the old man.
Can you please explain what you mean by 'complete their path'. As far as I know this is when they get 24 skill boxes and do the exit quest. If this is true it is going to be months before people in groups 1-4 get a visit from the old man.
Was hoping for some new content in this release as the previous few releases have added nothing for my character (not a jedi, not an ID, not a Droid Engineer, DWB pointless, Crackdown had no effect) but sitting in the wilderness waiting for some NPC to turn up at an undetermined time in the future isn't what I consider great content.

ThunderFART, you have still not answered the question that EVERYONE needs to know.
HOW DO WE KNOW IF WE ARE QUALIFIED?
IF WE ARE GLOWING, DOES THAT MEAN WE ARE QUALIFIED? OR DO WE NEED TO HAVE UNLOCKED BETWEEN PUBLISH 9 AND 10. YOU NEED TO ANSWER THIS.

You can expect to hear from TH in 1 to 3 days. Go sit outside until then.
QFE.
You are correct. A CSR and I traced it back to a badge problem I have had however. I was "glowing" after going back to the Temple of Exar Kun and being awarded the badge for a third time. (This particularbadge has "disappeared" from my character twice since POI Badges came into the game. I have since /bugged it.)

This system is partially bugged with the Profession Badges you added later into the game.
Example: I mastered my first holo (Dancer) before profession badges. I log in today and see that I am not glowing but only surge with the force. I have done all but my silent profession which would have granted me 5 branches and a trip from the old man. But since I didn't get the first holo badge I'm not granted 4 out of 5 holos, only 3.
I can assure you that this is not so.
The way your holo-professions were accounted for is seperate from the badges being displayed through the interface.

When you type /checkforcestatus you might be told 'You feel an inner glow. The Force is with you'. IF THIS IS THE CASE, EXPECT A VISIT WITHIN 72HRS!If you are not at this point, go to the Test Centre forum, get the list of badges required and go get them ingame, it is not hard, you can be Glowy within a week of even casual gameplay, ensuring your Old Man visit within 72hrsStop griefing the Dev Team, this system is simple and easy, all you need is 72hrs of patience.
This would be a watershed of good news... but how did you deduce this? ThunderHeart made it very clear that, unless you unlocked or got within 1 profession of unlocking, you were gated into one of the later groups. Please point us to your sources. From what I've seen on TC2 and Corbantis Live, you need BOTH. Even if you unlocked post-Pub9, you need to be "Glowy" in order to receive your visit from old 'Crusty'. Once you receive your visit, you complete the Entry Quest (series) and make your way into the Village. Once in the Village, you get your rewards for grinded profs.

TH I have a question for you, what about the people that already unlocked do they automatically qualitfy or should they be waiting like the other groups.
You automatically qualify. Hang out in the wilderness and you will be visited in a short period of time. The old man will visit you in the wilderness and send you on a quest.
So does this mean that those who already unlocked "before" Publish 9, does mean that their "main" has already qualified? If this is the case than why does it tell me I only have a faint sense of the force?
I'd just like to add my voice to the hundreds of others expressing outrage over the way the Old Man and the Village has been implemented. Whatever possessed you to give Hologrinders a double reward, as they are getting right now? Was it not enough that they get free branch unlocks and fsxp (which they deserve) now they get to go to the village before the rest of the player base (which they do not deserve).
Last I checked, when content is put into an MMORPG it exists so that the players/subscribers of said MMORPG can USE said content. I pay the same monthly fee as those hologrinders and now, because I didn't do something that was HARMFUL TO THE GAME, I am barred from content that I am currently paying for. This is completely and utterly unacceptable. It would be better if the Village were lagged out and Dathomir were crashing, at least I knew when I signed up for the game that high server loads are always a possibility. I don't, however, shell out the monthly fee to be barred from an area or even put in LINE for an area.
I qualify for an Old Man visit. 5+ hours online and I still haven't gotten one. TH has not answered any of our questions about this grouping mechanism and, let's face it, he never will. The bottom line is that if I went into any other game and discovered that content that I was paying for was prohibited EVEN THOUGH I FULFILLED ALL THE QUALIFICATIONS TO ACCESS THAT CONTENT I would quit just as fast as I could log out. *Sigh* As it is, I have a lot of time invested in this game and so I, like most others who are (justifiably) histrionically spewing disappointment all over the boards, will just wait. That said, JTL better be the best thing since sliced bread, or SWG will go the way of Earth and Beyond.
