This is ridiculous. A game developer basically telling a player to just sit there in-game and do nothing for a few hours because our game design is bad. I sat in the middle of nowhere on dantooine for 3 1/2 hours today. Nothing. From the forums it seems like no one has gotten an old man visit yet, even though some are working on 9 hours +.

Thanks for just handing out Jedi characters to those lucky few who were first. I've been here since the start and had a silent holocron at number 2 and while two guildmates unlocked without doing many professions. I didn't unlock untill number 30 and since then have gone ahead and said to hell with it and did the other 2 beside politician for the hell of it. Why not? I'd already wasted months and months of my time and in game credits clicking resources after resources and killing creature after creature.
Yes I did keep apparently guessing the wrong profession to unlock with which turned out to be bounty hunter. The profession I had almost mastered before changing to pistoleer and then going after the holocron Jedi.
I feel I've been cheated once again by this dev team. It's just like with the damned Bestine election bs where we were promissed the Imperialbanner's if Victor won and of course being the lucky fool I am, I got a worthless, piece of dung necklace. Is my character the friggin Charlie Brown of SWG??? Why do I alwasy get a "rock"?!?! Where the hell is my damned Imperial banner? I even got the damned necklace a second time with my alternate account!
You may have not had anything to do with the decisions to increase theammount of professions or the changed plan of giving Imperial banners or worthless junk from Victor. But you can pass this on to those that did make those decisions. Tell them I said thanks for nothing and they should be very proud of themselves for not only screwing me, but every other customer that has had to put up with the same bs I have in this game.
I suppose with this new patch today I didn't even recieve the badges for previous profession's I'd mastered before the profession badges were introduced? If so, that's just another thing we were told would be happening that we didn't recieve. This game is supposed to be fun, not dissapointing. All the people that will be unlocking soon will find out just how "fun" the jedi grind is now too.

Woot! Finially got to the end.. at least I had something to read while waiting for the old man

2.Anyone else think its a little weird NO ONE got visited yet?
I am pretty sure that the old man is NOT in the game now. They probably are now calculating the eligeble people(Glowy/unlocked) and putting him in tomorrow at the earliest.

Does this mean professions that the Holocrons said? or the total number out of 32 professions ground?

Heh, 9+ hours? Well...since whenever the server came up...Hence my wanting to know if im wasting my time because the 1-3 days actually means 24 hours -72 hours. Or can it theoretically happen now?

so what you are asking us to do, TH, is just stan d out in the wilderness for hours on end doing nothing? i have very little reason to hunt in the wilderness. o d anything there, so i cant really see this as anything but a waste of time. I wish the old ma would make an appointment, email it to me, an di'll just show up there, cause i sat outside and did missions and piddled around and stood absolutely still and ran back and forth for about 4 hours today,, ended up saying to hell with it and faling asleep, and afk he did not come. Why is there a new time sink on this for those that have unlocked? Back tio what i was doing? I was basically not playing much and jhust waiting till i could have something to do in this game again.
I have all but stopped logging on for the last two weeks because there is nopt much that, after a year and 31 profs, i have not done. Ive been waiting for today since abiout 2 weeks after pub nine when i unlocked. I have about 50 crystals, a few pearls, bear 100 badges, have done basically all there is to do as far as content so much that it is boring. I have pvp'd till boredom, done missions top boredom. the only content left for me is jedi, and the rp with my friends. why am i stuck doing a new system when i unlocked under the old system? whu am i still waiting?

I am with you.... Playing for 13/14 months and chose not to holo grind..as my first holo was a profession I chose not to complete as it was extremely boring. So, in order not to get bored.. I chose to work professions that were fun for me and stuck to them... I have been TKM and Master Doc for over 10 months... healing and buffing those holo grinders. Sheesh, and, yes while I am glowing as well, and have completed many quests and taken care of the holo grinders.... I am also one who will be put on the back burner. Something is wrong with this picture. My understanding was the hologinders would be rewarded because they chose to holo grind, but there was no mention of punishing those of us who paid our money month after month, helped the holo grinders and even put up withtheir fierce "to heck with others", steadfastly playing the game as was originally intended. Am I a little ticked? You betcha!

I'm simply amazed by the way you DEV's continue to play the delay card. You gate us and make it so that people can't get through these new missions into Jedi without waiting months, all the time while we are forking over our 15 dollars a month. You corporate f.ucks. Do something for the population of your game.
I admit I did grind 18 professions due to pure boredom, only to find out today that I now get to wait months until I am even able to enter the village. Thanks for nothing.

Well said. I did the same, I had NO reason to want to master entertainer (as easy as it would have been) and in the process dismantle my master profession I did enjoy.

for real, 6 month jedi grinding, 4 month for the fs quests and now several weeks (months???) for the waiting on the fu cking old **edit**? where is the fun in playing swg? i have made all quests in the game, have seen all places, have millions over millions of credits on the bank account and i have the best of the best stuff of armor and weapons. there is no more content for me in the game after7 months of playing but the jedi and now i have to wait for an fu cking old man to spawn? SOE, you have been at the border for a long time, but now you have cut it.
i have canceld today!
soe is just a money sucking piece of sh it.
