Ok, 1st off I like the wookiee armor. just got some and put it on. it badly needs a skirt or something, maybe even let us wear the other wookiee clothes with it. other than that, I like it and am looking forward to the next set to come. and maybe add some better colors for us wookiees, please.

No, next mini-publish.

So now there are mutiple mini publishes between publishes? Will this be a common thing?

No, next mini-publish.

So is it, or is it not 2 weeks from publish? We bet the farm on 2 weeks after pub 7, and now it's pushed back to an as yet undetermined date. Can we get a firm answer, or am I just missing something?

In the last friday feature.

I dont know about everyone else, but with all the hype about the Corvette I was lead to believe that it would be out in the current mini-publish. If the Geon was the first, and the wookiee armor is the second, that would make the Corvette the third.

Thunderheart, it might be a good idea to make a post that the Corvette isnt live yet. Also you should put it in the Did You Know on the Launchpad. I already spent 20 minutes looking around in-game before I thought it was weird the corvette wasnt in the patch notes. Some people may be more confused than I was. (unlikely )

Maybe its just me, but I was sure it was going to be live today (the next mini-publish). Most people I talked to in-game thought the same way.

Just read the high-lighted sentence. It says second mini-publish, this is the first. It also says in a few weeks, this was from the Friday Feature from this past Friday, four days ago, not a few weeks ago.

So how were you and everyone else led to believe it was going to be out in todays mini-publish?

Boggels the mind.

Because the FIRST MINI-PUBLISH was the Geonosian dungeon.. Before you get all sanctimonious on us, be sure you're not wrong first.

How about thinking that the Geo cave mini publish was the first. There is no reason to tie the mini publishes to the regular publishes. With the exception of the code being dumped at the same time the mini publishes have almost nothing to do with the regular publishes. The mini publish could go on if the regular publish never happened. The Corvette has been on TC longer than people even knew about wookie armor and it went out first.

The stat shifting bug proves that it wasn't ready.

nvm...found the post...two more weeks-ish for the corvette. You know...how about making this a little clearer when you start publicizing the damn thing instead of leaving it to guesswork for the end user.

Bah. Can't edit my own post.

In addition, what led us to believe it would be in this publish was that TH and other devs have stated that the pattern will be monthly publish with a mini-publish 2 weeks after with new content like these dungeons. So, between the statement that there will be one mini-publish between major publishes and TH calling this the "mini-publish", it should be fairly obvious why people expected this today. The sheer number of people who got that impression should tell you something.

All that being said, I want it when it's ready, not before. I'm just saying that there was a poor job of managing expectations here. Unfortunately, managing expectations is somehting that SOE has really barely tried to do so far

I think why people are a little 'upset' about the Corellian Corvette delay is we were originally told there would be a monthly major publish and a monthly mini publish featuring a new dungeon and each one would be 2 weeks apart.

However 2 weeks is now becoming 3-4 weeks.

This is actually understandable because for some unfathomable reason in the world of MMORPG's (and other games) the developers insist in giving deadlines that they consiustently fail to meet.

Don't get me wrong, this isn't the fault of the developers inability to meet the targets but the targets setters inability to realise that these things really can't be given dates in such a way.

The same happened in UO when they introduced their scenario publishes, the first 2 were a month apart and the schedule was to be one every month but they just couldn't keep up with the work and monthly became 6 weekly and eventually 3 monthly until they stopped all together.

This is in no way a dig at anybody here, it's just a strange reality that seems to exist in the gaming world.

My question really is how do you satisfy the masses with info long term without dissapointing them in the short term? On the one hand people are screaming for info about future updates, we are given info and a rough timeline but then as soon as that timeline is broken by a few days everyone gets upset.

It's a tough time being a developer, I guess maybe over estimate instead of trying to give actual deadlines that may be passed but then people may complain things aren't happening fast enough.

It's a catch 22 situationthat I don't think anyone can win, we will just have to be happy sometimes and whine others

It seems to me that the Devs are slipping back into the pattern that drove so many customers away a few months ago.

They released a patch that did more harm then good, just like publishes 1-3 which led to thousands of cancellations.

Good: Wookiee Armor (good for 5% of the game)
Bad: Borked missions (happening to 25%+ of the game)
