If you were an Imperial, you'll understand why they want them in.

Nothing breaks the game then when a group of gtef'ed Rebels come in and swarm a lone Imperial.

I think you guys who support the novatroopers are forgetting something important...

While yes, they do provide "a challenge" and some "danger" to the elite powergaming community types, they're not just stopping faction farming. To an average player, for instance any sort of crafter who happened to be a covert rebel sympathizer with probably no rank or fp, these things are absurdly over the top.

Perhaps they do stop the faction farming which I guess seems to be the big concern, there are better ways to handle it. Removing the faction reward will dimish it substantially, while still giving the average person who isnt buffed 98% of the time they play, doesn't wear 80% comp armor, isn't stacking BE food every chance they get, and isn't a stacked combat combo, a chance to play the game too.

I notice a lot of imperials are upset about this, since they were happy to see the change. And who wouldn't?

For the rebels who like the challenge, surely there are other ways to simulate this. Maybe for once you could try ramping through Kor Vella in a suit of rebel armor without buffs. Maybe stop using your krayt sliced rifle, in fact, why not give up the uber combat combo's altogether in light of something less powerful but more rp'able?

The answer is not to bring the game higher and higher to meet the player level, its to fix the level of the player so that it's even with the rest of the game.

Most excellent. Thats the right solution. No more krayt troopers in the street.

Exactly, I am so sick of the whiny imps that can't do their own dirty work. We did not need god like storm troopers that are more powerful then a krayt dragon. The only ones whining about them leaving the game are the imps.

This is getting ridiculous, Nova troopers stronger than AT-ST's or Krayts. As an Imp I have to say this game is out of control in terms of balance. The Armor , Weapons , Buffing and creatures are so out of whack that everytimre they introduce something it gets nerfed. Look, the revamp or balance required to bring everything in line would have to be so massive that they are unable or unwilling to do it, for fear of losing the whining few. They distract us with new build or promised expansions in the hope that new content will mask the massive flaws that they have built into the game . The Dev's need to suck it up do what's right , fix what is broken, and keep it interesting. Yes, you will lose a few subscriptions initially, however a good product will be more beneficial in the long run, and the bottom line, more profitiable.

Ahhh, I love poles. Let me participate as well.

FACTION: Rebel
VOTE FOR KEEPING NOVA TROOPS: YES

It was an absolute blast last night having to dodge around corners and find out of the way paths to have to avoid the "Empire". Finally felt like there was a superior army out there who didn't like me.

How hard is it to understand? If you are Rebel Factioned, you are a R E B E L. You are supposed to be in danger. If you want to live in your happy crafting world and not have to deal with PvP or getting attacked by Imperial forces, stay freakin' neutral.

Its that simple.

Ok why in the world did you devs pull such a great idea out of the game? I mean seriously the crackdown is a crackdown and thanks to these nova troopers do you see city farming no you don't. It finally feels real and you guys pull a very cool mob out of the game why? Please bring them back and stop taking away such good ideas we love the nova troopers!!!!

Gimme back my star wars feeling of a mighty empire not a weak empire that gets farmed on a daily basis with no backlash.

Nice post bud, but you are obviously blind and have skipped over the countless "Keep the Novatrooper" threads on most of the forums. If you actually DO in fact read them, you'll notice a substantial number of REBELs (true Rebels I might add, not these fake, I want to live in my perfect catered by the DEVs lala land) giving their support to keeping the Novas due to the added challenge and excitement that they get from actually having to BE a Rebel for the first time. They have something to hide from, something to sneak around, something to be looking over their shoulders for.

So go read some of those posts. Hell, read through THIS thread. You'll see the support to keep the Novas is from both sides of the fence.

Ummm I don't want to say anything about anyone in this post....but do any of you read?

If you read the sentence properly (and slowly) "Imperial Crackdown: After successful operations, the Imperial Novatroopers have been relieved of their duties in the Imperial Crackdown."

If I interpret this the way Rogue_5 meant it to be, I am sure he is just telling us that the NovaTroopers "disband" as in leave the vicinity, not the game after a "successful operation of the imperial crackdown". It's very possible that before this update that they never left the area.

If I am wrong and they have been removed from the game, my apologies to everyone..... but if I am right.... you all have to step back and quit crying "nerf", this is exactly what mass hysteria causes....

The devs are rebels. This much is obvious from their behaviour. The fact that the novatroopers got as far as they did suprises me. It means that there MIGHT (Maybe) be someone in SOE that has Imps in mind, and was able to temporarily weasel some content in for us. I say Put the troopers back in strategic cities. If people want PVP, they can raid Player cities. I cant count the number of times, when I was PVPing, That we fought in Player cities. As for the idgites that are posting that only imps like the Nova troopers, get a clue, and read the whole thread nimrods. For those who complain about The troopers being powerful, HELLO! The empire is supposed to be powerful! And the average in game stormtrooper certainly isnt! Go watch the movies again! See those rebs running in fear? Thats the character you are supposed to be playing. Running, hiding, and using strategic strikes on overwhelming odds. Guts and brains against raw numbers and power. Not walking overt through major starports/hospitals/cantinas slaughtering everything in sight.

Word Mot, this is exactly what I have been trying to get people to see. Unfortunately, there are many out there that give a flying crap about the overall feel and Star Wars experience. As long as they are uber and can take on waves and waves of enemies without much risk, they are happy.
