Actully Im a rebel I would like to see them kept in...it gives the feeling that I am actully an outlaw and need to be carefull about an action...and anyways, its easy enough to jump right back on your speeder and run away if you dont want to engage them..
Funny you should mention that speeder thing. In the last couple weeks I've been speeding past troopers, they pull me over by basically making me dismount my speeder. Well, I've been just mounting back up and taking off and I hear nothing more from them, and no faction hit. (I'm neutral btw) But, this morning I got dismounted by about 5 of them at once, all wanting to search me. I planned on just jumping back on the speeder but this time it had auto-stored itself. They didn't find anything on me even though I had a suit of sliced Ubese. Told me to go on my way "this one is clean".
you all have to take care of the auto-store problems, the noobs will scream when they lose their rental due to this.
Wokka-wokka
They are taking the nova troopers out of the cities. We want them there. I am a rebel and I love having them in the cities. It actually makes being scanned have some cool consequences. Before if I got scanned by normal ST I just straffe2 them all and go on my way. What fun is that? With these new troopers I gotta actually run which makes it much more exciting. The only problem I see with these troopers is Imps hiding behind them in city pvp, but oh well can;t win them all.

Ummm I don't want to say anything about anyone in this post....but do any of you read?
If you read the sentence properly (and slowly) "Imperial Crackdown: After successful operations, the Imperial Novatroopers have been relieved of their duties in the Imperial Crackdown."
If I interpret this the way Rogue_5 meant it to be, I am sure he is just telling us that the NovaTroopers "disband" as in leave the vicinity, not the game after a "successful operation of the imperial crackdown". It's very possible that before this update that they never left the area.
If I am wrong and they have been removed from the game, my apologies to everyone..... but if I am right.... you all have to step back and quit crying "nerf", this is exactly what mass hysteria causes....
Yes, I'm a geek when it comes to these things. And yes, I also don't dispute the fact that the nerf cry may have had something to do with it. I played around with the Novas last night and had a blast.
But there are those EU fanatics who play this game as well, although they are a dying breed. As I said before, Novas just don't fit in the EU context of their use. They fit in the Corvette, but they don't belong roaming the countryside in random goon squads. If they do, they should be rare in appearance, used sparingly. And they should be feared by rebels.
But I respect your opinion, and am just stating mine, that's all.
Ive gotta cast my vote towards increasing ST's in general and replacing teh nova troopers. BUT i think the Nova Troopers should be teh gaurds around teh emperors retreat!
Plus i have also noticed the beautiful stars at night. They even shimmer in front of nearby planets and moons... um... maybe that should be rearranged... Obviously not a major bug but definately an oops.

I have never seen Star-Wars lunchboxes in the movies. They will slap thier name on anything as long as they get paid. The Dev's don't answer to Lucasfilm, they answer to Sony. Sony could buy and sell Lucasfilm 10 times over.
People I have dealt with in my career in this industry IRL might beg to differ with that attitude. Read the recently published Dev interviews man...SOE wasn't allowed to use Naboo as one of the planets until GL himself approved the decision. George Lucas is very meticulous about his universe, and very careful about the continuity of the storyline so it won't hamper with future projects. I'm not making this up man...do some research.
In any case, Novas are out of the crackdown. We could both argue until we were blue in the face and it wouldn't make us any more right or wrong.

You're absolutely right. Anyone who has been around since launch should remember the Mon Calamarian females and Trandoshan females allhad their avatars reset to the default look in order to get rid of the breasts that those species are not supposed to have. It was because GL did not approve of the incorrect appearances of species that he created. (Being a derivitive of fish and lizards respectively, they would not have mammary glands, and thus, no breasts)
Star Wars is George Lucas' baby. He keeps a pretty close watch on anything that uses the license.
Every little addition to the game, from my understanding, gets approved by Lucasfilm before it gets a green light in the game, for EU continuity purposes. I suspect that while the addition of Nova troopers to this made sense from a gamer standpoint, it really breaks the whole continuity of the saga.
Show me a Nova Trooper in the movies...or even in EU literature where they were just casually walking around the countryside in goon squads. Offhand, while I'm no EU expert, I suspect that you can't. The idea of a Nova Trooper is to have an "elite among the Imperial elite", a special force that was used for special operations...like the Navy Seals IRL, or something like that. They didn't stomp on Rebels all the time, only on special occasions.
Simply put, it George Lucas's universe, we just pay 15$/month to play around in it. He (and his team) can veto anything he chooses.
My suggestion? Beef up the crackdown ST's a bit more. The ones in the final portion (base defense) of COA Act 3 were more challenging than the standard everyday ones. Make em a bit tougher, and have them give less faction and XP rewards. Or longer TEFs, or some other deterrent.
