About the transportation lanes. I got news for all of those people who think that all planets are inter-connected. Not all of the planets are adjacent. With the current system if you are on Talus and want to go to Yavin, you must make a stop on Corellia. I understand that, if you have a really slow computer, you come almost to a complete halt in Coronet. I don't know if anyone knows this or not, but Corellia has 4 starports, and if you want to go to Corellia and not suffer lag when you zone into the starport; Go to Doaba Guerfel, there is no one there shouting about sales or training. I only go to Coronet when I feel I have to for what ever reason, other than that I go elsewhere. As to why Coronet is the hub of commerce in the galaxy, I'm not sure other than that it was randomly chosen, while Corellia is literally the hub of the galaxy, beings as only two planets do not directly connect to Corellia. The planets needed, and still do need, to be spread out more, the reality of the galaxy geography is, Naboo, Tatooine, and Geonosis are really quite close together in the general area of the outer rim. Corellia is much more coreward. Dantooine is so far out there that it's not a very visible planet, "You are far too trusting your highness, Dantooine is too remote to make an effective demonstration. But don't you worry, we will take care of your friends soon enough. You may fire when ready commander!" -Grand Moff Tarkin

I don't know how many people realize this but Tatooine was more than a weeks travel from Alderaan in the Millenium Falcon, which travels twice as fast as most of the rest of the ships in the galaxy.

I will, however, say this. I think that there should be a mid-level travel map called system. The actuallity of space travel is, all planets within a system are in the same place, and the use of hyperspace routes is un-necessary. Kinda like driving from Olympia, WA, to Seattle, WA. They are in the same state and it is possible to travel from one to another without using the freeway. But to drive from Los Angeles, CA, to Tulsa, OK by way of back roads would be silly, it's much easier and faster to go by freeway. Same should be in SWG. A person should be able to travel from Talus to all of the star systems that you could go to from Corellia. What this amounts to is... there aren't enough star systems in the galaxy. There needs to be more, they need to be spread out. The only reason Corellia is "a major trade center" in the Star Wars universe is, it's in the middle of a trade route, it's a waypoint that connects the core worlds with the outer rim.

So please understand that while this is a game, it is a game built to simulate reality in some degree. Which means, sometimes you have to wait for a transport, sometimes you have to wait in travel, sometimes things happen you don't like, and hopefully the bad stuff gets fixed, and if your really lucky it happens really soon. In the mean time, please try not too just simply complain, come up with ways to make things better, like most of the people here do.

Here are my suggestions to add to this:

1) Signs/Bulletin Boards:

Allow actual signs to be created to give crafters the ability to post messages in their house so they dont use travel packs. bone segments and other doodads to give a shopper the ability to know what is being sold on which vendor or other pertinent information. There is a "Sign" category on the bazaar, why is this not being used? For mayors the ability to post a Bulletin board (like a real structure) next to the city hall to tell visitors of upcomming or current events. Oh yeah, and please give us so adequate space to post stuff there too. Not like the merchant droid which only has 128 character limit. This is very silly and limiting.

2) Room Access:

Allow certain rooms in a house to be off-limits to players. A guild hall is a perfect example. The main room is welcome to all but the individual rooms downstairs would be off-limits to non-guild members via a simple private/public key pad. You enter a secret code and u are allowed access. Kind of like the keypad interface in the geno caves. I don't want opposite aligned faction players to have complete access to every room in my house to be rifled through and all my good weapons examined so see what I have. This is just common sense. Once u place a vendor in a house to use as storage (in a basement for instance), u dont want ppl constantly searching on that vendor and knowing what is available there.

3) Resource sort Sub-Category on theBazaar:

When looking for ONLY coppper on the bazaar I hate having to sort through page upon page of aluminum, steel, gemstone, etc to just find copper. There should be an ability to sort the inorganics and other resource categories by sub categories. When u have 15 pages of inorganics to sort through for the "Entire Galaxy" filter and it takes 90 seconds to refresh each screen sometimes, like in Coronet, then this is truly a waste of time. If I want copper, then let me sort JUST by copper.

4) Structure Maintenance Droid Energy addition:

A droid that lets u pay POWER/ENERGY of a harvestor. Whats the point of having a structure maintenance droid that ONLY pays maintenance? Sure, great, it won't decay or get destroyed but how about letting us pay power on it to keep it running!!! The ability to change the resource being mining would be an excellent addition to a structure maintenance droids abilityas well. If I use a structure droid to pay the maint on a harvestor on Endor but have to fly there anyway to add power then what is the point of the droid? This droid as it stands is completely silly to own.

5) New Background Music:

Star Wars the movies is well known for its plethora of excellent music. Why do we still have the same music over and over for every action? Why not give us the ability to have different music being played for each type of action? Customizeable so if I want to have Nine Inch Nails play for when combat is enganged I can do that. Or maybe new sounds sets that can be pruchased for $5 from SOE. EXTRA REVEMUE HERE GUYS!!!! It would resemble the skin changes u can do for the HUD but it would be geared toward sound. Modern PC's have 5.1 surround and listening to the same time of dreary music and effects over and over is completely cheesy.

More Dungeons!!! More Missions!!!

I think the Corvette Missions were a great idea the problem with them isthe need to have a group 7-10 people to complete the mission. I am not a power gamer. I don't play a lot, a good week would be 6 or 7 hours tops. Finding a group of people who want to go is tough. Can't the concept of the Corvette missions be extended to include training missions or something else along the same lines. Maybe you have to do "training" missions, solo or in small groups before you can move up in your faction's ranking. At the faction bases there are training tents. When you enter the tent you canadd you name tolists people for "about to being" missions. When there are enough people for the mission you all get wisked away to the training field.Perhaps a cut scene discribing the training mission and its objectives.

Master Doctor/Master Pistoleer now what - I don't have any more skill points.

Ok soI have worked all this time toachieve these profession now what. I think that if youmastertwo professions you should have some of your points "released" to try other professions or other skills should become avaliable. I understand that most people will at this point just go on to become Jedi but maybe not everyone will want to rush into their Jedi training.

Bring back the farmer / rancher mixed together, could bea new style of skill set mixed between creature handler and bio-engineer.

Disciplines (Idea) - Animal Domestication,Plant Domestication, Facilities and Management, Farming Equipment

Animial Domestication - Further up tree more difficult types of animals that can be raised for resources.

Plant Domesticatoin - Further up tree more difficult types of flora that can be planted and harvested.

Facilities and Management - Access to better farming structures and special options for such facilities.

Farming Equipment - Can get access to better equipment to useas well as better equipment to your facilities.

Animals have to be bought from a creature handler or bio engineer. Animals including fish can be grown and raised to produce yields of the appropriate resource types.

Initial plant seeds have to be either harvested from enviornment or bought from someone.

All of these items need to be tweaked in some way to produce higher yields. So a chuba for instance that would normally produce 10 meat at ranger level would produce 20 meat, and the amount of chuba's able to handle would be based on the facilities. The amount of meat gathered would be dictated by the equipment used at the facility.

Of course this profession would produce a different type of resource than the ones available in world at spawn time, or they could even take a good spawn and basically improve apon the yield as well as keep it around longer until seeds run out.

The facilities should be slotable with equipment in that things can be added and removed as needed and maybe even the slotted equipment has slots that can be manipulated. Sort of like a big chemist set to get what you want.

This is all very general in my mind, no specifics but seems doable and there is a need in game especially with chef foods being so valuable.

Might also want to make moisture farming as part of this. Where a yield of water can be improved upon. Tie this in with water being needed for structure maintenance on Tatooine and you have something more in line with the Star Wars universe.

I'm not sure whether or not this issue has been put into the boards as I am not a regular "troll" but I believe this game has a severe lack of the ability to retain accomplishments. I have been playing SWG since July 2003 and have put in hundreds of hours into my character. Yet, in a single day I can turn my character into a newbie. Yes, I can lose all my skill boxes andforget everything I have learned. I would be left with credits, items, and load of badges fromnumerous mastered professions, events and locations. Yet, my character will know nothing none-the-less. I have a great appreciation for this system as it allows for a huge variety of characters all fully customized to their user's choosing. It also allows for "mid-life crisis" changes to allow an entirely new template if one would so desire. What I suggest is not changing this system in all its uniqueness, but adding a new system that would allow characters to retain certain skills without sacrificing skill points. Not the ever important skills, but new trivial and fun skills that characters could be ever working toward improving. These skills would take an obscene amount of time to improve but the character would never have to lose them.

For example:

Say a character loves to fish. I say reward that character with a small fishing xp bonus everytime he catches something. Improving this skill may allow this character to access different varieties of fish or even a better sense of where the good fish are. Maybe even a better success rate if that isn't pushing it.

Other possibilities for skills that could be included in this additional skill system may include but not limited tomilking anddrinking (that is to say that people would actually have to work for their incomprehensible /drunk state). These are a mere few that I can come up with off the top of my head I'm sure that the hoard of players can come up with endless creative ideas for these new skills.

One reason why I believe that a system like this is absolutely neccessary for this game is that I often hear of disgruntled players who have reached their highest peak and have nowhere to go. What do you do when you cannot advance any further? In comparison to other mmorpgsit is frighteningly easy to run out of skill points in swg and maximize potential for a character. This can be very depressing for people who love the star wars universe and being able to immerse theirselves in it. If not this system, then at least develop some type of system that allows characters to always have goals.

Most memorable SWG quotes:
"You lookin fer summat?"
"Get on board the falcon kid. This place is gonna blow." (How can you forget something you've heard over 100 times in a row?)

This is something that has been bugging me lately, and I have to get it off my chest. For the past few months we have been getting quests/dungeons/end-game mobs that are generally for huge groups, and guilds. More content is excellent, I applaud SOE for that. But I'm more of a rogue-ish player and don't have enough friends to take part in any of this content. So I feel my $15 a month is going towards other people's fun while I am stuck hunting/pvping, while all of the big guilds get to do their thing. I'm desperate to see some content that I can partake in. Any sort of challenging solo/small group content would be nice, SOE seems to be neglecting this. I've always played this way in MMORPGs, but it seems to be frowned upon here, and I don't know what to do. Generally on a monthly basis a development team would usually implement several quests at a time to give everyone a chance at some new goodies, whether for the soloist, the small band of friends, or the gigantic organized clansmen, everyone gets their fun. Now I shouldn't say their isn't any small squad based quests here, because their are several. The problem is they are quite frankly, boring. Killing X NPCs, or fetching X item, rescuing X person is pretty much all they are. Then you get a badge, and some item and you are on your way. Looking at the latest quests, it shows that the development team is finally realizing their potential to make immersive and fun quests, with great rewards. I just feel a lot of players including myself are being left out. Are there any plans for some immersive quests for smaller groups, or soloists?

*** Suggestion for New Content ***

If it is one thing that Star Wars Galaxies needs, it's more variety in land vehicles. I get sickened when I see 90% of the players on the same 3 vehicles. I was overjoyed when the AV-21 came out. The moment I saw it I knew I had to have one because I to was disgusted with my own dull vehicles that look like everyone else's.

I propose adding 3 new player vehicles. One vehicle for each faction: Rebel, Imperial, and Neutral. Each faction would have a new quest that could be tied into a NPC city or theme park. Throughout the quest you would do missions to earn parts that would be needed to craft the vehicle. The very last Mission would give the Schematic.

To make the new content fun and available to people that are not power gamers I would suggest that the difficulty to complete the quest should be no greater than the difficulty of the Rebel / Imperial / Jabba Theme parks.

My suggestion for possible vehicles:

XP-38 Landspeeder- Looks very similar to the X-34 Landspeeder but has a closed cockpit and different looking engines. According to the EU, this speeder would be very fast and have excellent acceleration, but would suffer from poor terrain negotiation.

V-35 Landspeeder- This vehicle was seen in the Lars Homestead background when Luke was cleaning the droids in Ep IV. Like the XP-38, the V-35 also has a closed cockpit.

T-16 Skyhopper- If done right, this ship could work like a normal vehicle, but hover a little higher off the ground. Perhaps this ship would be best left for Atmospheric flight. /shrug

Desert skiff / Small Sailing Barge- These don't even have to look like the ones from ROTJ, they could be totally new designs so that the vehicles could be used on other planets besides Tatooine. These vehicles would be great for Multiple passengers…

Bria- Master Medic / Master Brawler / TKM ~(Hero of Tatooine)~

Scylla- Carbineer / TK ~(Hero of Tatooine)~

Tempest- Master Doctor / TKM

i play a wookiee char and i was reading some of the threads about wookiee armor and it said that you where haveing trouble coming up with some good concepts. i looked at the ones that you already have an i realy think there cool but i was reading one of the starwars books

Shadows of the Empire by Steve Perry

and in it Chewbacca portrays a bounty hunter and he wears this cool armor and i though that it would be something cool to have ingame

here are some links to images of it if you wana take a look at them

I havefour comments, all unrelated to each other:

1.) Not a lot of originality between species other then looks and what they can wear, and more specifically, I have a rant on wookie apparel (as I've been a long time wookie).

I play a wookie, and I'm not in a big guild, so the Mandolorian armor quest is sorta pointless for me.

Be nice if us wookies got some decent things to wear. I'm glad we got armor, but every other species already has a selection to choose from compared to our one. Dont' get me started on clothes.

Be nice if every wookie had to go on a quest to earn a special sash (like the one chewbacca wears) that signified a special moment; it would be the wookie's "Right of Passage". The sash could give a small mind buff every time we go into combat signifying a type of "pride aggression".

2.) Used to be a big fan of diablo, and the thing with diablo, is that you almost never visit the same place twice since everything gets regenerated randomly.

Now I don't suggest every world do this, I like the static appearance of each world and even the dungeons. What I suggest is another world be created that is completely random.

This world wouldn't have a name, for instance it could be called "xr-381" or something as it would be a little known outer rim planet. It could make it easier to have "flavors of the day/month" as far as content. Make it so that it cannot be visited more then once, and can only be found randomly ( shuttle from starport crash landing ). To keep people from complaining, randomly generate a new planet like this every day or two days with enough frequency that everyone will get used to the fact that you can't "see everything", "get all the badges", "steal all the magseal containers" etc.

It could make it a lot easier to introduce lootable places, and weird, rare minerals, while swatting away constant camping as the planet will disappear after a day or two.

3.) For those of us that have completed Jabba's park, and have done countless things for the big fat Hutt, can we get a player event that happens once or twice a day, where Jabba takes a few failures to the Great Pit of Carkoon. I want to stand there and cheer as we here the last feeble cries of some pathetic loser (npc or not) before he gets pushed in (please make the eating look exciting if not brief). Probably give the entertainers something, as maybe they can sign on to entertain us on the barge.

4.) speaking of entertainers, wouldn't it be great if there was an entertainer competition at Jabba's. Maybe get extra experience bonus for performing, and if you go afk or don't have enough mouse clicks, then you get fed to the rancor. Lol, I would love to see those stupid, macro'ing, jedi-wannabe grinders get eaten and sent to the clone center with massive wounds.

had an idea, probably been here a million times over, but humor me and make me think its my own idea.

I'd like to see player crafted "arenas" for lack of a better word. The idea is you drop the arenaand itwould exist as a set of those same blue borders like the GCW battlegrounds have. This way you could drop it just about anywhere, including municipal zones.

The admin console would allow the administrator to select from two matches, team combat or last man standing. Maybe with some variations within. Team could be faction based or players would choose the team they want to be on upon entering the arena.

The idea is to make player PvP content run much better. Currently it is all faction based and in some cases players run tournements that are not faction based and exist as duels. Having an arena of this sort could make PvP a lot more fun.

The other thing that would be interesting is to have a control panel with weapon/armor restictions. So you could run a match that doesn't allow anything but cdef pistols and armor is not allowed...

just thinking out loud. But there seems to be a lot of people creating PvP tournements and I know the GCW changes will add to the whole PvP environment, but something like this will add to the friendly PvP stuff taking place in this game.

Greetings!

Over in the Bounty Hunter forum, there has been some healthy, positive discussion regarding Player Bounties. The discussion brings up some very creative ways of implenting a system that would allow players to take out Player Contracts and other risks that may land them in the crosshairs of a Bounty Hunter's LLC. What we've worked out seems like a reasonable enough change, and is fairly well thought out to avoid potential griefing/exploiting.

Please stop by, and give your thoughts, praise, criticism, and flames.

Concept: I play with a small group of about 3 people atm.

We are all good friends and get along just great. I am sure that there are a lot of

others who play in the same group sizes. As we are not big enough to get a town hall

we have no way of sharing money. I think it would be a good idea to create some sort of Clan/ Group

money holder. It could be implemented in the way of a Terminal that could be placed in a house, and work the same way as a bank or the way you pay maintenance. Then all players on the Admin List of the house could gain acces to it.

Or it might work being able to have cash as a physical object. Like a little cube that you could deposit money into and

withdraw out of.

I hope something like this can be added soon

I think it would be very welcome by everybody
