i would like you to please consider my idea concerning the mission terminals:

please make the following things selectable (2 models given) - most possibly via a drop down menue:

a) mob + direction

b) payout + direction (so you could "control" over payout, and filter all missions wich are not in the desired range)

benefits:

  • reduces overall server lag
  • reduces mission terminal lag
  • reduces time for players to get the desired missions

why you would want to include it:

helps customer satisfaction - people are doing missions they want to do, leading to litteraly everyone clicking the terminal until he/she gets the desired mission - so the current system is neither helping the dev, nor the player side of SWG

My biggest thing has to be

1) lower level content

2) city revamp

By lower level content I mean more quests/dungeons/etc. (especially instanced zones) for characters within a few boxes (above or below) the novice level of an elite or hybrid profession. As a Pistoleer 1111 Smuggler 0112 there really isn't much I can do to occupy my time. I am a really casual gamer, I play almost exclussively solo, and there is nothing for me to do but run missions. If I had the time to find a group I'm sure I would enjoy the new content that has been added, but I feel the game really focuses too heavily on the group experience. Us solo players are getting underrepresented IMO.

By city revamp I am talking content. Currently, most all but the major cities are empty because there is simply no reason to go there. Anchorhead used to be packed with people, constant raids from the Imperials, Rebels organization raids to Bestine. It was fun! But since the Imperial crackdown (which I understand the point) Anchorhead is empty. It seems by re-establishing Imperial control of Anchorhead you have made it a ghost town. Every city on every planet needs something unique to draw players. Bestine for Imperials, Anchorhead for Rebels, Mos Eisley should be a well populated town because of the direct Star Warsy experience, but it's not because in functionality Bestine serves its purpose better. Mos Espa is near deserted now though it used to be jam packed, no one ever visits Wayfar. I believe player cities are to blame. All the player cities I have ever been to (and thats a lot) the most people I have ever seen at one were 3. Which is still more than a place like Anchorhead. But then you go to Bestine or Coronet and they are over crowded. Something needs to be down to give players good reason to travel to the ghost towns and even more reason to stay there and benefit from the unique advantages of that town.

Good luck

I would like to see a few things in the game:

1) More armour colours, simple enough, it was done with hairstyles...

2) In a world where the economy is based almost entirely on trade between worlds, could we please, please, please, abolish the need to go through planets to get to others? I live on Rori, but I happen to like hunting on Dath, due to low amounts of RAM in my PC it takes me the better part of 30 mins. Especially annoying when I am part of a group and by the time I get to wherever we are going, everything has already been killed or people are annoyed at waiting for me.

3) An NPC controlled race track where you can either enter as a swoop driver, or bet on the outcome of the races. Profession-based players could run swoop teams. Since the betting section of the hotels is next to pointless, maybe this would entice people to have a flutter.

4) A new mechanic profession (see above)

5) Dual wield for all professions in which this would be feaseable, pistoleer, smuggler, fencer, tka etc.

6) Two seater vehicles

7) Cabinets or rooms in cantinas in which dancers can dance and musicians can play. Entry into these rooms costs non-entertainer players (maybe per bf healed) and this is split between the entertainers within, dependant on their skills. This will stop people getting their bf healed and not paying for it, dancer is the most underpaid profession in the game and unfairly so as they are an integral part of the combat system.

8) A noticeboard outside every starport with player posted information on events in that area which are coming up. Maybe requiring politician skills to use.

9) Changes to the rank system would be nice, so that having a high rank actually benefits you in ways other than being able to slap storm troopers

10) Yeah, I know, you're getting tired of listening to me, last one I promise: This is my personal pet irritation. Why can't dancers and doctors buff themselves? It is super irritating to have gone through mastering a profession like dancer only to find that a) you can't buff yourself and b) no-one pays you to buff them!

Thank you and Hail the Emperor, Obiwan's a hobo.

I'm bettin' dollars to pesos that this probably waaaay to hard to implement, but I'm not a programmer, so whadda I know?

Wouldn't it be great if we could take screenshots in-game that we could craft into our own art, i.e. Pictures/portraits? You could have a gallery of your great accomplishments and places you've seen...

just a thought

Is it just me, or does it seem ridiculous that smugglers can sell crates of spice on the bazaar or on personal vendors? I mean, come on...if spice is supposed to be illegal, then it should not be able to be sold in public. Isn't that the point of smuggling spice? I can't just walk over to the Quick-ee Mart and pick up a box of heroin. Perhaps the next patch should disallow this--I don't think it'd cut the market any, but if people now have to go hang out with Image Designers for 10min. per pop to enhance the "community feel", then a junkie having to go finda dealer to geta fix isn't that unreasonable, and more realistic.

All I can think right now is..

"It's legal to buy it, it's legal to own it, and if you're the proprietor of a hash bar, it's legal to sell it. It's legal to carry it, but get a load of this--if the cops stop you, it's illegal for them to search you. Searching you is a right the cops in Amsterdam don't have."

I feel that a few things may be beneficial to future developement of SWEG.

1. For those characters who were grinding to open their Force slot and actually hit the required professionsthat were instituted on their toons birthdate.

Those toons should receive some sort of bonus in the upcoming system change in publish 10.

2. The PvP should have more of a penalty to players who die in PvP battle. Perhaps a respawn in their declared cities cloning facility. This would force groups that PvP to be much larger, and making it much harder to take down bases. If those characters are dragged and resz'd then the character who has the skill to resz. should have a much longer time penalty before the action can be repeated.

3. SWEG does severely punish the character that chooses to be a non-combat profession. Cool loot and fun missions are only obtainable by those who have high levels of fighting professions.

Instead of struggling to changing the damage type of existing lightsabers from kinetic to some other damage type, why don't you create new lightsabers with the type of damage you feel is appropriate?

This suggestion seems to be consistent with what I have read and observed: Changing the damage type of existing weapons is tough, but creating new weapons is much easier.

Story Idea

This story goes hand and hand with the Imperial crackdown to add content and a new Dungeon to the game. Here is the basic premse of the idea. When you get scanned by the Empire and are found with contraband, you get arrested!

General Concepts:

  1. This kicks in at different intervals and different planets throughout the day.

  2. It's purely random who get's stopped.

  3. Imperial Faction rank can get you out of it.

  4. Maybe, a option to bribe your way out if you don't have the rank(Steep costing bribe).

The Story:

The crackdown officers will arrest 10 people and load them onboard a waiting imperial shuttle. As the players are escorted on board the shuttle. It will show them in handcuffs as they are escorted onboard the shuttle. To facilitate the the arrests there will be a Dark Jedi knight(who happens to look like Darth Maul!)standing behind the Crackdown officer that mind tricks the player. That way there is no fight and the player is loaded on board the shuttle. The players sit in shuttle and watch it take off and travel to a waiting Prison transport ship to be taken to a penal colony. Enroute to the Penal colony the ship is attacked ny mercenies intent on freeing there comrades who are also on board the ship as well. As the prison ship takes hits the cell doors fail and pop open. Thus you have 10 complete strangers attempting to get off the ship!! Do they work together or do there own thing??!!

Ship Concepts:

  1. When the cell door comes open you are standing there in an orange jump suit with no gear. Gotta find your gear first.

  2. You won't be buffed.

  3. The prison guards will be at level you can handle in terms of difficulty.

  4. There will be unique loot for passengers and some loot is Profession Specific. This facilitates something worthwhile for the pure Dancer or crafter that was arrrested.

  5. If you Die onboard you can clone on ship to finish the escape mission and earn your badge or just clone off the ship.

  6. There can be several faction objectives on ship.

  7. This is where Smuggler faction can help. The attackers coulud be Jabba, Swoop, Valarians, etc.

  8. But, it mainly comes down to getting your butt off the ship before you end up in a Penal Colony for the rest of your life!!

Let me know what you think of the idea and suggestions to improve story and content are welcome.

This would be a nice story addition and some nice flavor/content to the game.

in starports you should get a box that pops up with the arrival and departure times. So if the shuttle is not yet there it would show you the time until it is there.

Then if it is there then is should start the countdown until it takes off. In my opinion this would be a nice thing to have.

Here are my suggestions to add to this:

1) Signs/Bulletin Boards:

Allow actual signs to be created to give crafters the ability to post messages in their house so they dont use travel packs. bone segments and other doodads to give a shopper the ability to know what is being sold on which vendor or other pertinent information. There is a "Sign" category on the bazaar, why is this not being used? For mayors the ability to post a Bulletin board (like a real structure) next to the city hall to tell visitors of upcomming or current events. Oh yeah, and please give us so adequate space to post stuff there too. Not like the merchant droid which only has 128 character limit. This is very silly and limiting.

2) Room Access:

Allow certain rooms in a house to be off-limits to players. A guild hall is a perfect example. The main room is welcome to all but the individual rooms downstairs would be off-limits to non-guild members via a simple private/public key pad. You enter a secret code and u are allowed access. Kind of like the keypad interface in the geno caves. I don't want opposite aligned faction players to have complete access to every room in my house to be rifled through and all my good weapons examined so see what I have. This is just common sense. Once u place a vendor in a house to use as storage (in a basement for instance), u dont want ppl constantly searching on that vendor and knowing what is available there.

3) Resource sort Sub-Category on theBazaar:

When looking for ONLY coppper on the bazaar I hate having to sort through page upon page of aluminum, steel, gemstone, etc to just find copper. There should be an ability to sort the inorganics and other resource categories by sub categories. When u have 15 pages of inorganics to sort through for the "Entire Galaxy" filter and it takes 90 seconds to refresh each screen sometimes, like in Coronet, then this is truly a waste of time. If I want copper, then let me sort JUST by copper.

4) Structure Maintenance Droid Energy addition:

A droid that lets u pay POWER/ENERGY of a harvestor. Whats the point of having a structure maintenance droid that ONLY pays maintenance? Sure, great, it won't decay or get destroyed but how about letting us pay power on it to keep it running!!! The ability to change the resource being mining would be an excellent addition to a structure maintenance droids abilityas well. If I use a structure droid to pay the maint on a harvestor on Endor but have to fly there anyway to add power then what is the point of the droid? This droid as it stands is completely silly to own.

5) New Background Music:

Star Wars the movies is well known for its plethora of excellent music. Why do we still have the same music over and over for every action? Why not give us the ability to have different music being played for each type of action? Customizeable so if I want to have Nine Inch Nails play for when combat is enganged I can do that. Or maybe new sounds sets that can be pruchased for $5 from SOE. EXTRA REVEMUE HERE GUYS!!!! It would resemble the skin changes u can do for the HUD but it would be geared toward sound. Modern PC's have 5.1 surround and listening to the same time of dreary music and effects over and over is completely cheesy.

my 2 cents
