Thread: Weekly Roundtable Discussion (Week Ending 6-21-04)

Suggestions:
Stop asking for Top 5s and "What is wrong." Concentrate on your hand-picked Correspondents' Top 5s.
DO ask for a "Name one thing to improve Star Wars Immersion" thread. Maybe get some Correspondent that is not doing anything else to lead that up.
My TOP Issues:
- Backpacks are very un-immersive as storage devices in a building. At FanFest, I was led to believe that converting chests, armoires and bookcases into storage devices was not an overly hard thing. Please do this.
- Now that we have secured word of the "bacta" instead of "cloning" change, I would like to present a new Star Wars continuity issue, which is: Lack of Imperial Control. We need an Imperial Crackdown, one which puts terror in Rebels' hearts, one which pushes people into the Imperial camp out of fear.
- We need more holograms in the game. Holoart, holograms attached to signs, holograms displaying when you take a mission. Holograms are VERY immersive, and VERY Star Wars thematic.

How about a little more science and a lot LESS voodoo. This is a SCIENCE FICTION game.

My TC/TC2 characters do not have any crystals to verify, but it has been said that all existing crystals in the game will be changed to color crystals... My understanding of the Jedi Archives was that existing crystals and pearls would need to be "tuned" by Jedi to see the stats and that those stats would be similar to what is on thecurrent crystals and pearls... So which is it going to be? Will there be some notification in game to let the 75% or so of the game population that do not visit the forums know this change is coming?

What are some topics you would like to see discussed?
I would like to see issues that affect everyone discussed like someone elsesaid.
UI issues and settings not persisting come to mind. That and the inventory and backpack sort orders not saving. It's tough to keep track of items when the deck is constantly being shuffled.

Seomon's Questions:
Will we ever get our Deadeye?
Um... We have our DeadEye. Just head on down to your local recruiter and buy the schematic for 500 FP and do some Alderaan Flora missions and get your neighborhood Doc to cook you up a batch. We've had it since the end of Act II. You may have missed that part in the mission breifing of Act III. The Coordinator told you that the schematic was available from the recruiter if you read carefully.
Is there anyway to get our 'Wifebeaters' back in the game as a craftable item? I miss those
I agree. Ubese Armor Shirts are close, but many people would prefer the "A Style" T-shirt. (they may be more willing to give them back if we don't call them "wifebeaters")
Can you hotfix composite armor so that Stun is stuck in the base resists? That would fix some combat balancefor the shortrun.
In my opinion, each armor should have its advantages and disadvantages. Composite should not be the"be all - end all" of armor. I think we'll see big changes in the Combat Balance that will highlight the differences and advantages of other types of armor. Plus who's not sick of seeing every person look like clones with everyone in red or black composite?
Well then, there's good news for you. Jedi will have to PvP other Jedi just to maintain their ranking and skills, let alone advance. I don't think that will leave them with a whole lot of time for slaughtering massive groups of regular players or ganking lone players.

Jedi should have their own private war. Keep them away from the Stormtrooper vs. Marine, Rebel vs. Imperial war. It is rediculous that they would have any impact on the GCW anyways in Darth Vader's era. A Jedi's fun should be from interaction with other Jedi (epic duels), rather than from slaughter massive groups of regular players or from ganking lone players in Starports.

There is a bug Im presuming in game that everyone has complained about, but Ill tell you just in case. The missions on Dantooine dont always pay out. And I still get thrown from my bike. I don't know if its missions on all planets but I play on Dantooine alot and alot of times you kill the lair and the mission still is open. And you dont get paid so I have to delete it.
Thanks for your time,

This has been reported many times over the past few weeks, personally and bya few others through the in-game /bug process. A recent visit to other Professional forums has revealed that it is NOT server specific, nor is it only afficting Dantooine. However Dant. does seem to be primarily effected.
A word that this has been noted and a fix isbeing evaluatedwill go a long way for customer satisfaction.
Now non-response time is 5 days ...
Thus far the best player answer has been not to use specials for the final blow to the lair. I've tested this theory and for all practicality it works.
However this is a work around for a process that was working up to a few weeks ago. Is this the way the game is supposed to be played?
TH, in your "In Live" thread I'm haranguing you again about the SBD proliferation on the Corvette. I don't mean to sound accusatory, but as a player since launch and master combat profession I speak for many like myself who feel deprived of the next step up in difficulty. For a couple weeks the Corvette was seriously challenging in a GOOD way, then suddenly cranked up to "uber-l337 24 hour power gamer" with no further comment.
Even if that further comment were just "wait for the combat rebalance", I'd actually be delighted to hear that. But as a long-time player it infuriates me that you produced and tested this fantastic new content and then, with no testing at all, perverted it into another grind. I don't want the loot! I want an immersive adventure, and there's nothing immersive about six immortal SBDs in every closet.
I couldn't have said this better myself.
