i have no reason to log into this game.....

when i do its just a series of chores i dont care to do.....

been playing other games the past 2 months and they make the combat in SWG look like a game you would play on a gameboy...very stiff and dull.

after a year, i have yet to see any signs of the GCW or get any sense the Empire is Divided...

the past 8 months seem like all they have done is redo the game and try and correct Kosters most heinous mistakes -- why he is even still employed at SOny is beyond me

the only interest i have is in playing JTL..

i dont really care about and future updates ---- nothing you can do will save SWG:AED...its just too late

get JTL out ASAP because i have a feeling I am not he only one who hasnt already cancelled because i am giving JTL another month

i also suspect that the free trial is a big sign the subcribers are dwidling...

if only you could hear what people in other games say about SWG ---- it is not very highly regarded

I'd love to see a category for posting bugs for live, similar to the one on the Test Center forum. It would have to be cleared weekly like this, I think, but it would be helpful for players to identify things that arebugs and to pass that information on so they can be looked into.

Another possibility would be focus discussion on in-live features. For example, rather than a general Publish 8 discussion thread it could be stat mitigration changes, etc. in a shorter, limited form like these roundtable discussions are.

The free-form discussion is nice in many ways because it opens up suggestions for more focused discussions, though.

And something that resurfaced for me this week is the bug where your factories don't register your maintenance payment after server reset. It's like it didn't happen. I had factories poof from this before and the CSR couldn't find a record of payment being made (and it wasn't oversight, I promise ). This time, I paid all my factories to two weeks maintenance the day before I left for Fan Fest and got a message in e-mail today that they were at 23%. Whether the money was actually taken from my inventory still, I have no clue.

And can PCs get the same ability to automatically go around harvesters and buildings like NPCs have? It's really annoying to set auto-pilot so you can type while you travel and have to keep adjusting because you're stuck on something.

Why do we have to Camp/Slaughter for Force Crystals?

Crystals are the basic unit of saber construction. They should be readily available.

Sure, if you want a "fancy" saber made from Krayt Pearls, there should be a fair amount of work involved.

The longevity of this game is based on the Jedi Profession remaining enjoyable. Finding Force Crystals could be something as simple as a Quest Reward item. That would take some time/effort. Constructing a Lightsaber should not, however, be much more difficult than construction of any other weapon in the game. Sure, making a "fancy" one should be hard, but an average one should be, uh, average in difficulty--meaning not very.

I would like to ask why the whole community lacks responses. Most of the frustration in the community lies with lack of feedback!

IDEA:

Once a week DEV's post a state of profession and give constructive feedback.

PROF CORR. can help by summing up the forums ideas for the week and sending them to DEV's.

I mean correct me if Im wrong but I think that is why you guys out the forums up is so we could constantly give you feedback!!

PS I post this not just for my profession, but for all to benifit.

1) Combat Medics - this is a major subject not only on the forums but in game as well. Combat Medics are not overpowered in PvE or individually in PvP, but they have way too much efffect in large group PvP. 1-2 Combat Medics spamming poison/disease on a group is the end in almost every case. Even if you have 1-2 Doctors, they are getting spammed with the same poison/disease everyone else in the group is and they can't even heal themselves fast enough let alone heal anyone else. Something needs to be done now, it can not wait for the Combat Rebalance in my opinion. People are getting frustrated with PvP because of this issue, including myself. There are thousands of suggestions floating arround out there. I would just like to know if there are plans to actually do something about it before the Combat Rebalance, If we have to wait another couple of months for this to be fixed (even a temp fix would be nice) I fear we will lose alot of people who only really play this game for the PvP, we have already lost alot already.

2) Stomaches clearing on death. I asked this question on this thread several times. You gave an answer with a reason behind it that it was by design. You also said you would check into it being changed. After thinking more about it, I still fail to see the logic in this penalty. Doctor Buffs - you die, they are gone, you can immediatlly get rebuffed. Musician and Dancer Buffs - You die, they are gone, you can immediatlly get rebuffed. Spice Buffs - You die, they are gone, you can immediatlly take more. I fail to see why food should be any different. Food - You die, your stomach is still full, you have to sit arround for 10-30 minutes for it to clear. It is no different then any of the others, except it has this penalty and none of the others do. And I still fail to see the reason for the penalty. It is not fun to have to wait for your stomach to clear on a clone that could not possibly be full because it has not eaten anything.

There are many more things, like the GCW and Profession problems, but I understand those are very large issues and take time to do. These things though are issues that really can not wait for the upcoming revamps (really just the first one, the stomach thing is just really annoying, especially when it makes no sense, I just want to keep it up there to make sure it is not forgotten). If you do not believe me, about the Combat Medics, come on a raid with my guild, it looks like mortor fire the poison/disease is spammed soo much from so many Combat medics. No defense for it unless you are a Doctor, and unless you have a whole group of Doctor/insert Combat Profession here you have no chance. The Doctors are always the last to fall, but even they can not heal fast enough when they are being Poisoned/Disease spammed by multiple Combat Medics.

I don't have 5 issues, just 3:

1. Merchant re-vamp. Nobody is talking about this, and yet its due to come in during publish 10?? If the details are not worked out and thoroughly tested, then its going to fall behind schedule, probably publish 11 or later. Don't let that happen!

2. Combat re-balance is more important than Jediprofessionchanges, Jedi Quests,or FRS. Combat is the foundation of this game. If you create new Jedi combat skillsand then change overall combat balance, you are surely going to have to change Jedi combat a second time, as well as PVP and FRS and all other systems that build off the foundation of combat. Fix combat problems first before going on to broader expansions!!

3. Fix the bugs!!! So many people have complained about this but the DEV team seems to ignore them. Users still have no visibility of the bug list, and very little evidence of work being done on these bugs. In fact, with all the new content, it seems like the bug list is growing, not shrinking!! The bugs are driving people crazy, and really destroy an otherwise great game. We would all be completely happy with no new content for the next 3 months if the DEV team would instead focus on fixing all the bugs during that time!!

Besides, new content should just be bundled in newreleases that Sony can make money from and thereforepay for a dedicated developement team. So, I would be happy to pay a few more bucks for 3 new "deathwatch style" POI's added to JTL if instead we could get 3 months of bug fixes out of the DEV team.

Looking back on the first year of the game, we had three "monthly" storylines in a year. Are there plans to get this back up to speed so that there is some story-driven content to the game in year two and beyond?

That is a very good question. I have lately been very critical of the Developers and Community Managers...then my irl friend literally smacked me in my head and brought some sense to me...normally if ya hit me I hit back, but if ya hit me and tell me why ya did, and it makes sense...I won't...well what he said made sense, so without further tangential conversation....

They have, to my knowledge, and in no particular order:

Publish 9 - Currently they are working hard to tweak and peak this, as it is a completely new system. It has many bugs that go with something this different that it is replacing (did that make sense...*drinks more caffeine*).

Jump to Lightspeed Expansion Pack - This is a Major addition to the game, and as such several of their Developers, Programmers, Artists, etc. were pulled to work on this. As such they are not as many to work on the many other varied projects, slowing things down a bit.

Publish 10 - Currently this is also in the slice and dice phase (i.e. some preliminary code has been written, some art work done, some concepts written down), but many aspects of this publish are undoubtedly not set in stone. They need to see how pub 9 goes when it hits live, and then decide how they are going to work the path (i.e. with the quests, how hard, how easy, how long, how short, is it going to be a stupid kill this mob, kill that one, more story driven, you find that the force is strong in your family etc.) then they need to see how feasible it all is with their timeline and schedule.

The GCW Revamp - All of the above is being tied "into" this. This one is a major headache just by itself. They have to make sure it is fun, exciting, immersive...but at the same time, they have to make sure it is balanced, i.e. a chef with 10 STs tearing up 2 master CM's without even flinching, etc.

The Combat Rebalance - This piece of work completely redefines combat in this game, period. To do this, it has to be balanced...which is hard when you have people out there that don't want balance...they want the "I win" button readily available. So they are trying to make sure that every profession works well with others, and that if a person has 2 strong profession it doesn't make him invincible, but tough. There are many more aspects going into this publish...long standing bug fixes, making sure more bugs aren't created by it, adding new specials for the combat profs, balancing those specials against the other older specials....I mean this one alone could keep them all busy for months...and a few for a year or more.

New dungeons, new story lines, mini publish revamps like the id publish, etc.

They have so much on their plate...we honestly should be giving them praise for getting what they have done out on time or reasonably close to on time...That isALOT of designing, programming, and developing...we act like spoiled brats (yes i am very much guilty of this too)...we say "more more more more", and if we don't like it....we say "this is such a let down BLAH BLAH BLAH"...

This is the part where we all say thank you to the SWG team...they need some lovin' too...over 32 professions, thousands of quests, multiple worlds, servers, get it? that is a lot of work...so from me Thank you for working your proverbial butts off to keep us the paying customer from being bored.

That was well thought out, and said. I have been more and more critical of the Devs of late. Though I do feel let down by much of the game, I still think it could, and should be a lot better, they have done some very good work. Now for my caveat, the need to make sure what is coming down the pike goes well, and to actually listen to those of us who play the game. If they don't a lot of us who have been forgetting how much we enjoyed the game back in Sept. are going to seriously look at moving on to another game.

I love Star Wars, and I think this game has tons of potential, the fact I have been playing since Sept. says a lot to those who know me, but I really think the Devs need to step up here to make the game last. They need to set aside their preconceptions on how we should socialize, how we should master professions, how we should group, and how we should fight. Oh, and also, not blame us for the playing the game they gave us rather than the game they envisioned inside their heads. That's what really chaps my hide.

So, to sum it up before I waste too much of everyone's time; the Devs have done a very good job with many things in this game, but there is a lot of room for improvement. Unfortunately, this room for improvement is in critical areas that will make or break this game. So, please be careful guys with all of these upcoming publishes, we want to continue to love this game, and are willing to pay every month for one we do, but be careful.

Im figuring this is good a place as any to just say a few quick things:

In regard to the rampant inflation in this game that makes the 1980's economies of Chili and Argentina look stable like solid granite, is there any bottem in this tank, or will I watch the value of my credits continue to drop like rocks indefinately. Maybe its time for the Empire to step in and start hefting some taxes on those dad gumharvestor merchants who never held a weapon in their hand since the game launched almost a year ago haha.

Would also like to air out a new weapon suggestion for those of us who adore one hand melee--the age old, time tested whip--wouldnt it just be the greatest if we could go out and give our opponents a good ol fashoined whippin in the literal sense? haha

For topics, how about:

- Pet peeves/bugs
- Storage space -- Is it enough?
- Vehicle autostoring -- When does it happen to you?
- Profession focus threads (like the Smuggler revamp ones)

For focus, asking for "top 5" is a good one for things like pet peeves. Essay types of posts, particularly several hundred, will never be read. Giving examples is another good way to generate the type of feedback you'd like to see.

Developers, there have been many petitionsabout implementing a true Anonymous & Invisibleoption for the Friends list.

People want to be able to log on and have the option to choose if they should be shown as being online on other peoples lists. This is not only a problem for crafters, jedis and famous players but also for the average player that maybe sometime just want to log on to check mails or do some grinding without his friends/foes knowing about their online status. It is also a real RP killer sometimes.

Please Devs, even the most simple chat client has an invisible function. You have continously said this is being worked on. Why is it taking such a long time?

The many petitions and threads about this clearly show this is something the vast majority of players want and priortize.

SOE has made a major blunder and it will be the downfall of this game.

Because you have made Jedi a BRAG type prof. Or what’s also known as a “Ima super l33t [H]ard c0r3 “ player showoff prof. Everyone is scrambling to become Jedi.

Holo grinding has made the game dull and boring because 75% of the players are not playing the game. They are just going through and grinding profs. as fast as they can to become Jedi. MMOGG or Massive Multiplayer Online GRINDING Game because there is no roll playing going on here.

Now you add Jedi TRIALS??? OMG how many Jedi do you want in the game??? In the “REAL” Star Wars what % of the people were Jedi? Well if you say 90% like its going to be in this game then you are dead wrong!!!

DEVs you have 2 choices:

1: Make Jedi a STANDARD prof. that uses all your SP and is a little stronger the BH or Commando.

2: Get rid of ALL player Jedi because “REAL” Jedi would be too powerful and would cause a total game imbalance.

THIS GAME HASE GONE OUT OF THE DEVS CONTROLL AND WILL BE HEADED FOR CERTAIN DOOM.

Wait till 90% of the players are master Jedi… Oh that will be a lot fun!

Can you say EQ2??????
